Patent number: 4751763Abstract: A mop bucket insert for maintaining a portion of a cleaning liquid contained in a bucket free of suspended solids. A platform spaced above the bottom of the bucket and side walls coupled with the platform substantially segregated solids which have settled in the compartment formed between the bucket bottom and platform, preventing suspension of these solids when a mop agitates the liquid. The platform provides a surface against which a cleaning instrument may be applied to remove solids entrained in the fibrous elements of the mop.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 1986Date of Patent: June 21, 1988Assignee: E and R InvestmentsInventors: Edward S. Patent number: 4738358Abstract: A paint roller cover container and extractor assembly which simplifies the cleanup procedures when painting with a conventional paint roller. The container enables the roller cover to be stored therein and a core member is provided to displace the inside cavity of the roller cover. Once the roller cover and core are in position within the container, a small amount of paint or other liquid can be poured therein to saturate the roller cover. A sealing cap is put on the container to enclose it, thereby retaining the roller cover in a condition for reuse. Preferably, the container defines a plurality of radially inwardly deformed annular ribs which enable the container to be squeezed against the roller cover such that it is frictionally engaged, thereby enabling the associated roller handle portion to be withdrawn from the roller cover. The ribs also serve to centrally position the roller cover within the container, allowing liquid to be evenly distributed around the outer surface of the cover.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1986Date of Patent: April 19, 1988Inventor: Charles W. Patent number: 4727986Abstract: A squeegee is disclosed having a housing which is capable of being unfolded for use. The housing, which may, preferably, be made of any durable material is preferably rectangular in shape with a top surface and a bottom surface. Each surface preferably has a planar shape. If rectangularly-shaped, the housing is to have a plurality of side panels, three of which are affixed to the bottom surface. The fourth side panel is flexibly connected to both the bottom surface and the top surface, preferably by two hingeable connections. When in the closed, or folded position, the top surface is to rest on the plurality of panels, parallel to the bottom surface. A sponge is, preferably, removably affixed to the inner side of the top surface; a wiper blade is, preferably, removably affixed to the inner side of the flexibly connected panel. When the squeegee is unfolded, the sponge and the wiper blade may be used to clean a surface, such as an automobile windshield.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1987Date of Patent: March 1, 1988Inventor: Jeffrey E.
