Abstract: Disclosed herein is a drum type debarker for the debarking of logs and the like and there is provided a drive means for rotating the drum. The drum sits in a saddle that includes vehicle tires, and a drive mechanism is provided for rotating certain of the tires or wheels so as to rotate the drum. There is also provided a flange section on the drum that has vertically mounted tires arranged in engagement therewith for holding the drum in place.
Abstract: A rotary screen appliance for the sifting of sand at a construction site is fittable directly to the mouth of a motorized driving device such as a cement mixer. A dismantable screen cage is connected to an armature preferably having three guide arms. A fastening portion is slidably attached to each guide arm and extends at an acute angle therefrom such that the fastening portions may engage the mouth of a cement mixer and thereby lock the screen cage thereto. Rotation of the cement mixer causes rotation of the screen cage. A device for rapping on the screen cage and thereby shaking it as it rotates is also provided.
Abstract: Apparatus for use with extremely low-grade aggregate ore, for deriving a concentrate comprised of metal-bearing ore particles having densities within a predetermined range. The apparatus is in the form of a mobile, self-sustained system including a vehicle trailer for horizontal transport and elevated operational support, plus an integral power system capable of supplying the total energy requirements of the apparatus. Two types of particle size separation are applied, followed by compaction and particle density separation. Two density separation areas are provided to effect both coarse and fine gravitational shaving actions, and dual adjustment controls are also provided to vary the shaving force intensity to derive the concentrate independently of changes in the particular characteristics of the aggregate being processed. The apparatus includes outer and inner cylindrical chambers concentrically mounted on the trailer so as to be tiltable and rotatable.
Abstract: In a timbering operation wherein the felled trees are fed into a chipper for conversion to chips at the timbering site the chips are fed into a trailer-mounted rotary cylindrical screen which separates the chips from dirt and fine bark particles. Preferably the chips entering the cylindrical screen are blown into engagement with an impact plate to aid in disloading particles of dirt and bark from the chips. The chipper may be mounted on the same trailer or may be a separate trailer-mounted unit.

Abstract: A centrifuge sieve has a support drum rotatable about an axis, a pair of axially spaced rings secured in the drum and centered on the axis, and an array of like sieve bars having radially inner surfaces defining a body of revolution centered on the axis. The bars each have opposite ends each in turn having two formations radially outside the body. One of these formations engages over and radially inside the respective ring and the other formation engages radially outside and under the ring. Thus the rings lie outside the body and underneath lateral projections serving circumferentially to space adjacent bars apart. The upper surfaces of the lateral spacing projections lie below the radial inner surfaces of the bars and at least one end of each bar is chamfered to reduce the change of material catching on the bar.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for harvesting earthworms from a bedding comprising a drum rotatably mounted upon a housing, the housing including a base which is adapted to be placed upon a planar supporting surface, the drum being formed of a plurality of parallel elongated rods arranged in a circular manner with spaces between the rods, the longitudinal center axis of the drum being located in an inclined manner with respect to the base of the housing, and material inlet means connected to the housing to supply material to the interior of the drum, outlet means connected to the housing located adjacent the other end of the drum for discharging material from the interior chamber of the drum, and means for effecting rotation of the drum with respect to the housing.
Abstract: An apparatus for extracting components of solids, by means of a liquid contacting the solids in counter-current flow, comprises a rotating drum with a substantially horizontal axis, which drum has generally axial compartments extending from one end to the other. The materials to be extracted and the liquid are supplied to opposite ends of the compartments. The compartments have along a cross-section at right angle to the drum axis in the general shape of a circle sector the apex of which merges with the drum axis. At least those walls of the compartments extending generally radially are pervious to the liquid and the liquid level inside the drum is lower than the drum axis level.
Abstract: A portable screening apparatus comprises a base assembly having a two wheel assembly associated therewith. A shaft is journaled through a block member affixed onto the base assembly, wherein a handle member is affixed onto the outer end of the shaft. A frusto-conical drum has a top cover, a bottom base, and an annular sidewall, wherein the sidewall has a plurality of openings therethrough. The top end of the drum rotatably communicates with the base assembly. A bracket member is affixed onto an outside surface of the bottom base of the drum, wherein the forward end of the shaft is mounted into the bracket member. A frusto-conical shaped screen member is contained within the drum.
