Abstract: The invention has to do with the re-entrainment of gases separated from a water/gas mixture that rise to the top of a conductor pipe. A water jet created by a nozzle of the present invention plunges though the surface of the water carrying with it the gas that has accumulated on the surface on the water between the water and the top of the conduit. Depending on the gas to liquid ratio and the velocity of the mainline water flow, the nozzles penetrate the conductor pipe adjacent to a point where the gas has accumulated and no longer is entrained and mixed with the water. The ratio of plunging water to main water flow is determined based on the upstream injected gas to liquid ratio for the treatment process such as oxygen for aerobic conditions or ozone for oxidation.

The method itself entails a manner of mixing the reactants together in a one-pot process such that the time required for aging is reduced without compromising the ability to target pore size production. Furthermore, in one embodiment, the resultant gel materials exhibit a certain pore size minimum while simultaneously exhibiting a degree of softness heretofore unavailable. As such, not only is this novel method more efficient in silica gel manufacture, but the resultant materials are completely novel as well. • Patent number: 8545695
Abstract: The water provisioning system mainly contains a selection switch, a water volume switch, a human-machine interface (HMI), a RO waste water recycling device, an electromagnetic valve, a RO water purification device, an antichlor device, an aeration pipe assembly, a first ozone module, and a second ozone module. The selection switch selects a type of water to use. The RO water purification device filters water from a low-temperature water source, stores purified water in a storage barrel, and provides high-quality drinking water. The 70% water from the RO water purification process that fails the drinking water standard is recycled through the RO waste water recycling device. The low-temperature water source is connected to an antichlor device and the water is therefore dechlorinated. The first and second ozone modules are used to produce ozonated water and to release ozone through the aeration pipe assembly into the kitchen cabinet for deodorization and sterilization.

Abstract: The instant invention describes a device and system for dispensing microbial solutions into a wastewater treatment environment. The device contains one or more removable modules that provides the user with the capability of quickly and easily removing one or more of the modules without the need for replacing or removing the entire unit. The modules are preferably designed to hold bags filled with a microbial solution. The bags are fluidly connected to a pump which dispenses the solution to a predetermined location.

Abstract: A forward osmosis apparatus includes a diluting means for bringing a feed solution and a draw solution containing a cation source and an anion source in an ionized state into contact through a semi-permeable membrane and diluting the draw solution with water separated from the feed solution by means of the semi-permeable membrane; a separating means for separating the diluted draw solution into the cation source and anion source and into water; and a dissolving means, returning the separated cation source and the separated anion source to, and dissolving the cation source and anion source in, the draw solution that has been diluted. The molecular weight of the cation source in an uncharged state is 31 or greater and the Henry's law constant of each of the anion source and cation source is 1.0×104 (Pa/mol·fraction) or greater in a standard state.

  • Patent number: 8535536
Abstract: A split thin-flow separations device can include a fluid channel having an inlet zone, an outlet zone, and a transport region between the inlet zone and outlet zone. The inlet zone includes a sample inlet and a carrier fluid inlet which are fluidly separated by an inlet splitter to minimize mixing of fluids from respective inlets in the inlet zone. The transport region can be a substantially open channel. Similar to the inlet zone, the outlet zone can include a sample outlet and a carrier outlet which are fluidly separated by an outlet splitter to segregate portions of a fluid into each of the two outlets as the fluid enters the outlet zone. A plurality of cross-flow inducers can also be oriented along a wall of the fluid channel in the transport region. The cross-flow inducers are oriented to form a cross-flow field across the transport region.
