  • Patent number: 10297356
Abstract: A fuel storage system for storing and drying nuclear fuel rods includes a vertically oriented capsule defining an internal cavity. A plurality of fuel rod storage tubes is disposed in the cavity. In one embodiment, each storage tube has a transverse cross section configured and dimensioned to hold no more than one fuel rod. Intact or damaged fuel rods may be stored in the storage tubes. After the fuel rods are loaded into the capsule, a lid is attached to a previously open top end of the capsule. In one embodiment, the lid may be sealed welded to the capsule for forming a gas tight enclosure. The interior of the capsule and multiple fuel rods contained therein may be dried together simultaneously via flow conduits formed in the lid that can be fluidly connected to a suitable drying process such as a forced gas dehydration system.

  • Patent number: 10183245
Abstract: A water filtration system utilizes a housing configured to utilize various types of filter media and having a press-sealed closing system. The closing system includes a head portion defining a head opening, a lock member, and a lid member. The lock member releasably engages the head portion such that an abutment section of the lock member projects into the head opening. The lid member is received by the head portion to cover the head opening, and has an outward-facing press section configured to abut an inward facing portion of the abutment section of the lock member when the lid member is covering the head opening. Pressure generated within the housing during water filtration presses the lid member in an outward direction and causes the lid member press section to press against the abutment section of the lock member to substantially prevent disengagement of the lock member from the head portion.

  • Patent number: 9906102
Abstract: It is common in electric machines to use the housing as a heat sink to remove energy from the electric machine. In some applications, however, the housing receives energy from a hot element. For example, in an electronically controlled turbocharger, the very hot turbine housing radiates and conducts energy to the electric machine housing exacerbating the heating within the electric machine. To reduce the heat transfer into the electric machine, a gap is provided between the stator and the housing outside the stator. In one alternative, the gap is filled with an insulating material. In another embodiment, the gap is an air gap with the stator located within the housing by circumferential rings or axial rods in corresponding grooves. In yet another embodiment, coolant is provided to the gap at the top and drained away at the bottom under the action of gravity.

Abstract: An invertible segmented consumption container that inverts to allow for facilitated cleaning of an inner surface. A top section of the container comprises of a rigid material that separates from a bottom section. The top section is operable to engage a lid for containing a liquid. The bottom section is operable to retain the liquid for consumption. The bottom section is comprised of a flexible material. The invertibility of the bottom section creates access to the inner surface for facilitated cleaning When the rigid top section separates from the flexible bottom section, the bottom section may invert into itself. A rigid collar joins the top section with the bottom section, and provides a perimeter framework for drinking the liquid. The bottom section is also collapsible to provide compact storage and portability.

The bottom of the plug body has a hole where a spring is inserted and retained by a spring retainer that locates the spring and/or functions as a backstop for the spring that preloads the plug body against a retaining member. The spring-loaded action allows the plug body to be inserted into a-non-threaded cavity and depressed past a groove in the cavity. Once the shoulder on the plug body passes the groove, a wire ring retainer including one or more arcuate segments can be inserted into the cavity. The spring energy is then released against the ring retainer, retaining the plug body in the cavity.
