Abstract: A case module for articles comprises an open top case chamber confined by a front wall, a rear wall, a left wall, a right wall, and a bottom wall, a front part disposed in front of the font wall, a rear part disposed in front of the rear wall, and a flat upper lid. The characteristics is in that the case module can be lifted in a state of opening by way of two lid projections on the upper lid being inserted between a beam groove in the rear part and the case chamber and the support device being inserted into the lid cover. Moreover, a right and left connection of the case modules can be performed by that the wall frame on the left wall of the one case module being inserted into the wall recess on the right wall of the another case module. A front and rear connection of the case modules can be performed by that a rear stick on the one case module is inserted into a front post of the another case module.

Abstract: A safety container incorporates a slidable locking pin with an integral but separately lockable locking tab. The locking pin is internally biased by an integral S-spring which, in cooperation with the lid on the container, urges the pin to slide in a slideway in the lid of the container. The locking pin may be locked into a closed position, however, by rotation of the locking tab into a flexed position. In this position, the locking tab cannot slide within a mating slot in the hinge lid and thus the locking pin cannot slide in the slideway in the lid. Alternatively, the locking tab may be rotated into a non-flexed position in which the locking tab can be urged to penetrate the mating slot in the lid and allow the locking pin to slide in the slideway in the lid. By use of the locking pin, the safety container can be set to require the user to engage in at least distinct hand motions in order to open the container.

A latching mechanism mounted on the lid includes latching rods slidably mounted on the lid for engagement with apertures on the base to thereby secure the lid to the base. A camming member is rotatably mounted on the lid and includes slots engaged with the latching rods so that upon manual rotation of the camming plate in one direction the latching rods are moved into the apertures and upon rotation of the camming plate in the opposite direction, the latching rods are withdrawn from the apertures.

The operating rod has a first end section connected to one paddle latch, a second end section connected to the other paddle latch, and, an offset center section which is mounted by at least one rod guide within the channel formed in the front wall. The channel substantially encloses the center section of the operating rod to protect it from contact with items loaded into and unloaded from the box interior, and the rod guide(s) support the center section to prevent vibration or other contact with the front wall during operation of the vehicle within which the truck box is mounted.

Abstract: A stand for a vertical pole support for a tether ball type game includes a base which can contain ballast and a lid, through which the pole passes and a formation on its floor for receiving the end of the pole. The lid and base are attached by a two stage attachment arrangement. The first stage includes inter-engageable tongue and groove formations which are capable of attachment and detachment by application of finger pressure, and the second stage includes locking devices at points around the periphery of the base container for a positive lock of the lid to the base, so that the first stage cannot be broken other than by the use of excessive force having regard to the conventional use of the stand.

The first portion has at least one detent. The first and second portions lie in a single plane and each detent protrudes out of that plane. The invention also provides a container and lid combination, comprising a container having a first compartment for containing foods and a second compartment isolated from the first compartment. The combination has a lid capable of sliding onto the container to cover both the first and second compartments. The second compartment has an aperture for receiving a security seal. The lid includes a third compartment adapted to mate with the second compartment.

A part of the fitting horizontal surface of the fitting pieces of at least one of the upper case and the lower case has a fitting twisted surface twisted in the direction away from the fitting horizontal surface of the other fitting piece in the fitting pieces.

The blanks for forming container lug lids therefrom comprise an odd number of dissimilar lugs with one or more of the lugs comprising a male lug. Circumferential bases are formed between each lug, with one or more of the circumferential bases having a female complementary shape for receiving a male lug of an adjacent blank. The blank pattern for cutting the blanks from a sheet of material, which is preferably scrolled, comprises arranging the blanks in a closely spaced arrangement with the male lugs positioned for alignment with an adjacent female or complementary shaped circumferential base.

This produces a very stable container, which is suitable for storage and transportation of sensitive powdered materials.

Abstract: A sterilization container for medical instruments includes a receptacle with a bottom wall and an open top, there being a multiplicity of vent openings in the bottom wall. The receptacle has a cover movable between a closed position wherein the cover closes the open top of the receptacle and an open position wherein the cover is positioned to allow access to the interior of the receptacle. A filter sheet is positioned in the receptacle so as to cover the bottom wall and the vent openings therein and the receptacle contains one or more trays for supporting medical instruments above the filter sheet. A perforated highly thermally conductive plate is positioned between the trays and the filter sheet so that when steam enters the container through the vent openings during steam sterilization, it heats the plate to a temperature sufficient to revaporize steam condensate collecting on the plate. The internal structure of the container is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention provides a display container for retaining retail sales products. The display container includes a housing having a bottom portion having a plurality of sides and a top portion which can engage the bottom portion to form an enclosure within which the retail merchandise can reside. The housing is in a closed orientation when the top portion is engaged with the bottom portion. The top portion is preferably interconnected with one of the plurality of sides of the bottom portion so that the top portion can engage the bottom portion to form the enclosure. The housing further includes a tamper proof clasp or snap closure mechanism. The snap closure mechanism includes a latch strap and a lip over which the latch strap can extend, the latch strap having a strap surface extending away from a first portion. The latch strap further includes a catch protruding away from the strap surface to define a catch face generally extending away from the strap surface at an angle of about 90°.

The rain channel 76 cooperates with a downwardly extending flange 40 along the front edge of the box top 28 and an inwardly extending flange 60 along the top of the side hinged cover 36 to prevent the ingress of liquid at the top of the cover 36. Inwardly facing flanges 68 and 72 along the sides of the hinged cover 36 overlap the side walls 18 and 22 of the box 14 to prevent the ingress of liquid along each side of the cover 36.

In a fourth preferred embodiment, a plurality of hooks are molded into at least two sides of the container and sized to receive the peripheral edge of the lid.

Abstract: A multiple box case for housing audio equipment in both a transport and an operating mode is disclosed. An upper box has six latches extending downward to engage two continuous slider members fastened to a lower box to secure the case in the transport or closed mode. In an open or operating position, the upper box is cantilevered over the rear of the lower box and four of the six latches engage the two slider members in an operator preferred one of a plurality of continuously selectable positions. A safety stop bolt is installed in each slider member so as to preclude unstable positioning of the upper box.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved system and method for carrying and securing the lid of a container, such as a surgical sterilization tray. A tray is provided with rotating wire bail handles and at least two studs. The cover for the tray has a keyway and cutout which can be engaged with the studs when the lid is placed onto the case. Inadvertent disengagement of the keyway or cutout from the studs is prevented by the interaction of the handles with the lid. The lid is provided with slots and end panels which become mechanically associated with the handles when the handles are rotated to any of a variety of lid-securing positions. The association of the handles with the lid prevents any relative sliding motion of the lid and case which would allow disengagement of the keyway or cutout and the studs, until the handles are rotated to any of a variety of non-lid-securing positions. The system combines the handle and lid-securing functions in a very low part-count design with very few moving parts.

The flanges are movable between an interlocking arrangement and a non-interlocking arrangement. In the non-interlocking arrangement, the flanges are sufficiently relatively operatively free from each other to permit movement of the door relative to the containment structure between open and closed positions. On the other hand, in the interlocking arrangement, the door is in the closed position and the flanges are both mutually engageable and slidable relative to each other into mutual engagement and out of mutual engagement.

The lug is integral with the latch body and has a lug recess adapted for receiving a first portion of the link member in a manner to permit pivoting movement of the link member relative to the lug. The retainer arm is integral with the latch body and is adapted for engaging the link member in a manner to prevent the link member from being released from the lug recess. The latch assembly is adapted for movement relative to the container body between a locked position and an unlocked position.

A closure is fixedly connected to a second edge of the cover opposite the first edge, wherein the closure together with the disc holder is a component of one and the same injection-molded plastic part. The material connection between the disc holder and the closure is at least one break point, wherein after breakage of the at least one break point the closure, already connected to the cover, is detachably secured to the disc holder.

Abstract: A cake package for packaging large and heavy cakes is shown with a cake base, a cake cover, two slits cut into the bottom side of the cake base along the corrugation of the board, and at least two flexible, reusable spring loaded clips. To assemble the present invention, a cake is first mounted to the cake base in the conventional manner. Then, the cake cover is attached to the cake base by using food grade glue or any other conventional method. Finally, the clips are mounted into place by securing the upper part of the clips to the cake cover and by securing the lower part of the clips into the slits located at the bottom of the cake cover. The clips stay in place due to the rigidity of their material.

Abstract: A disposable separation module is disclosed which is capable of connecting to a fluid processing system in a quick-connect fashion. The module includes a housing containing a separation element with a plurality of fluid connectors on one end of the housing which are parallel to and exclusive of each other. This arrangement provides for essentially simultaneous engagement and fluid tight sealing of the fluid connectors to corresponding mating connectors on the fluid processing system. A retention mechanism is included which retains the entire module in fluid tight engagement by a single action without producing relative motion between the mating connectors.

Abstract: An overhead console for a vehicle or the like includes a housing defining a transmitter storage compartment for a garage door opener and an opening for permitting access to the storage compartment. A door is pivotally mounted to the housing for movement between a closed position for covering the opening and an open position for exposing the interior of the compartment through the lower opening. A hinge assembly for pivotally mounting the door to the housing includes a pair of spaced cams integrally molded to the door and a pair of spaced spring arms integrally molded to the housing. The spring arms are engageable with the cams as the door moves toward the open position from the closed position to arrest the movement of the door at an intermediate position between the closed and open positions. The spring arms are engageable and deflectable by the cam to provide frictional resistance to movement of the door only from the intermediate position to the open position.

Abstract: A cover for sealing a munition within a canister has an inner layer of tempered glass bonded by an adhesive to an outer layer of structural foam having at least one score mark thereon. Upon launch of the munition, the inner layer of tempered glass breaks into numerous fragments which remain bonded to the outer layer of scored foam by the adhesive layer. The outer layer of foam then breaks along its score marks into two or more pieces that have pieces of the inner layer of glass bonded thereto. The pieces of foam with glass fragments bonded thereto are then blown out and away from the canister so that the munition can egress unimpeded and undamaged from the canister. A method for sealing a munition within a canister until munition launch includes the step of sealing the munition within the canister by a cover having an inner layer of tempered glass bonded by an adhesive to an outer layer of structural foam having at least one score mark thereon.

A resilient locking member projects from an inner side of the security device that faces a front side of the board. The resilient locking member includes a hook formed on a distal end thereof and a protrusion formed adjacent to the hook. The security device includes a through-hole through which a tool to be displayed is extended. The locking member is extendible through the engaging hole of the boar such that the protrusion and the hook of the resilient locking member are located on a rear side of the board. The protrusion is releasably engaged, with the shoulder section of the board, and the hook prevents pivotal movement of the security device relative to the board when the hook is moved to bear against the shoulder section of the board, thereby locking the tool in place.

Abstract: A truck cargo bed utility box blow molded of high density polyethylene which complements the styling of many truck bedliners. The utility box incorporates a mounting system for a central pneumatic spring which holds the lid of the box open. The mounting system consists of a bracket mounted to a wall forming part of the storage bin and a bracket on the bin lid. The lid bracket and the bin bracket extend to and engage with a hinge pin which joins the lid to the storage bin. The brackets are constructed of sheet metal and are mechanically joined by the hinge pin. The loads imposed on the lid and bin wall by the air spring are distributed through the hinge pin. The bin bracket is also attached to a metal rim which surrounds the opening into the box to provide load distribution. The metal rim provides a distortion resistant structure to which locking hasps can reliably latch. By distributing the loads imposed on the plastic lid and plastic bin distortion of the plastic is prevented.

The open head container is of the type having a container body that is constructed of elongated side walls and an end wall which border and define a container body cavity. The open head container further being of the type in which the cover is secured to the container body by a bolt ring that is secured around the cover and the container body. The cover has a housing with a passage provided therethrough. The housing also has a sealing portion that is sealably engageable to the container such that the housing passage is connected to the container body cavity. A hinge is then provided upon the housing, and a lid is movably connected to the hinge. The lid is sealable with the housing, and movable about the hinge through open and closed positions. When the lid is in the open position, the housing passage is uncovered. When the lid is in the closed position, the lid is in sealed engagement with the housing.

Abstract: An adjustable length storage tank sump for attachment to an underground storage tank is provided. The storage tank sump is formed from a body having a polygonal lower portion with a chamber, an interconnecting conical middle portion, and an upper portion having a plurality of formations and an opening disposed thereon. The formations are axially spaced along the longitudinal axis of the body so that a predetermined number of the formations can be selectively removed during installation, thereby reducing the length of the storage tank sump. A sealing surface is provided on each formation so that a single seal can be installed on the formation closest the opening. An attachment structure, which is interchangeable among the formations, removably engages the formation closest to the opening. A removable lid for covering the opening is provided, the lid engaging the attachment structure such that the lid sealingly contacts the seal.

Abstract: A pump and filter assembly comprising a filter cover secured onto a filter body by a locking ring. A one-piece latching mechanism, integral to the locking ring and composed of flexible material, biases a latching end of the latching mechanism against the locking ring, causing the latching end of the latching mechanism to project through a slit in the locking ring into a notch on the outside of the filter body when the filter body is completely threadably engaged with the locking ring. The latching portion of the latching mechanism is easily biased away from the slit and the notch, facilitating disengagement of the locking ring from the filter body and filter cover. Abstract: A deformable retaining net for securing certain items such as laundry articles within a container such as a laundry basket. The deformable retaining net comprises a netting panel which is rectangular in shape and bounded on at least two opposite sides by double-ply sleeves. An elastic drawstring having opposite ends and a connecting hook at each end each extends through each of the double-ply sleeves such that the connecting hooks are located external to said double-ply sleeves. The device is employed by securing two of the connecting hooks to any surface contours of one of the side walls of the container, and then stretching the netting panel over the open top of the container and securing the remaining connecting hooks to surface contours located upon the opposite side wall of the container, so that the netting panel is thus firmly secured across the open top of the container, and items are prevented from escaping through the open top from the container's interior.

Abstract: A housing assembly includes a housing (100) and a door (102). The housing has a first opening (115) and includes a selective call receiver (200). The door is coupled to the housing for gaining access to the selective call receiver by way of the first opening. The door is slidable between first and second positions with the housing, wherein the first position the door is latched, and wherein the second position the door is unlatched and pivots to gain access to the first opening. The door includes a plurality of springless latches (107), wherein each springless latch comprises at least two arms (106), each arm having an external detent (108), and an internal detent (110). Additionally, the housing includes a corresponding snap post (112) for latching to a corresponding springless latch in the first position.

Abstract: A cover for an open head hazardous waste container. The open head container is of the type having a container body that is constructed of elongated side walls and an end wall which border and define a container body cavity. The open head container further being of the type in which the cover is secured to the container body by a bolt ring that is secured around the cover and the container body. The cover has a housing with a passage provided therethrough. The housing also has a sealing portion that is sealably engageable to the container such that the housing passage is connected to the container body cavity. A hinge is then provided upon the housing, and a lid is movably connected to the hinge. The lid is sealable with the housing, and movable about the hinge through open and closed positions. When the lid is in the open position, the housing passage is uncovered. When the lid is in the closed position, the lid is in sealed engagement with the housing.

Abstract: A reusable toothbrush storage cap for protecting bristles of a toothbrush is manufactured entirely as a single integral piece of molded plastic. The reusable toothbrush storage cap includes a bristle compartment and a hinged cover which are connected by a living hinge. The bristle compartment is defined by a bottom wall having vent/drain holes and an end wall, a front wall, and longitudinal sidewalls extending upward from the bottom wall. The living hinge is located at a top edge of the end wall and is connected to an end edge of the cover for the cap. The longitudinal sidewalls extend perpendicularly from the front wall to a transition location, and bend towards one another from the respective transition location to the end wall. The reusable toothbrush storage cap includes a first latching mechanism along the perpendicularly extending portion of the first longitudinal sidewall and a second latching mechanism along the perpendicularly extending portion of the second longitudinal sidewall.

Abstract: A liquid dispenser assembly for medical applications includes a container holding a predetermined quantity of a therapeutic liquid in a storage chamber. The container has a wall or panel provided with a port. A dip tube is disposed in the chamber and extends from the port to a lower portion of the storage chamber. The disepnser assembly further includes a hollow compressible dispenser body. An applicator tube is attached at one end to the dispenser body and extends at a free end, i.e., an end opposite the dispenser body, into the dip tube. The applicator tube is removable from the dip tube after an expansion of the dispenser body from a collapsed configuration and a concomitant drawing of an aliquot of the liquid into the dispenser body through the dip tube and the applicator tube.
