Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a lid for a container. In one embodiment, the lid of the container includes a lid panel having a break-open region at least partially surrounded by a predetermined breaking line, and having a fastening element arranged on the lid panel. The lid further including a lever tab rotatably attached to the fastening element for breaking open the break-open region along the predetermined breaking line in the direction of an underside of the lid panel and thereby providing a removal opening in the lid panel. In some embodiments, the lever tab includes a closure element for tightly closing the removal opening, the closure element has a first portion mountable on an upper side of the lid panel and partially sealingly enclosing the removal opening and a second portion mountable on a lower surface of the lid panel and partially sealingly enclosing the removal opening.

The chime may include a handle that has a waveform profile when viewed in cross-section along a length of the handle. The handle may include a first set of one or more regions of inflection that provide a first surface of the handle and a second set of one or more regions of inflection that provide an opposing second surface of the handle. The chime may be configured to be connected to a sleeve for surrounding at least part of a body portion of the keg. The interface between the chime and the sleeve may be configured to permit axially outward movement of the chime with respect to the sleeve in order to accommodate axial expansion of the keg.

The container protector may also include one or more handle extension to facilitate use with a container having one or more handles. The container protector is designed to sealing fit around the top periphery of a container with the interior lip extending upward to prevent material within the container from flowing outward therefrom during transitions. Such transitions may be caused by heating, transportation, or other disturbances. The precise dimensions of the container protector will vary from one embodiment to the next, and the container protector may take any shape depending on the container for which it is designed.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a composite insert includes forming a polymer mold from a polymer sheet which may have a glass transition temperature of 70 to 160° C., the polymer mold either includes a cavity or may form a cavity disposed between the polymer mold and the carrier. The method proceeds by depositing a liquid reactive composite insert composition, which may be a two-component composition including a first part comprised of an isocyanate-epoxy blend and a second part comprised of an alcohol-epoxy blend, into the cavity under low pressure conditions of 0-10 bar and low temperature conditions of 15-100° C. The composition is then allowed to become dimensionally stable either within the polymer mold or between the polymer mold and the carrier.

The beverage container has a container body having a side wall member and a bottom member, and a liquid retaining cavity therebetween. The container body has a first mating member adjacent a bottom of the container body. The two-part base comprises an inner member partially surrounded by an outer member, and wherein the inner member is preferably made of a rigid material and wherein the outer member is preferably made of a thermoplastic elastomer. The two-part base has a second mating member, whereby the two-part base is connected to the container body adjacent the bottom of the container body via a mating connection between the first mating member and the second mating member. Portions of the two-part base contact the bottom member of the container body to define seal areas that create a substantially fluid-tight seal between the base and the container body, thereby allowing the beverage container to be top-shelf dishwasher safe.

Abstract: The present invention is a latching mechanism and a container employing that latching mechanism, where the container has a lid that is attached to the rear of the container and can be rotated upward from the front. The latch includes an arm that attaches to the walls of the container with a protrusion extending above and abutting a portion of the top of the lid to latch it in place. The latch includes an arm abutment attached to the container above the arm attachment point so that when inward force is applied to the container below the arm, the arm rotates about the arm abutment causing the protrusion to no longer abut the lid, so that the lid can be opened. Such pressure may be applied by lifting arms attached to a garbage truck.

Abstract: A detachable basket is quickly fastened to a substantially flat surface of a watercraft such as a board. The detachable basket includes at least one quick fastener that includes a flexible skirt defining a vacuum chamber. A fluid evacuator is arranged as part of the vacuum chamber and allows fluid to be dispelled from within the vacuum chamber to create a negative pressure within the vacuum chamber. The vacuum chamber partially collapses to create a seal between the quick fastener and the flat surface of the watercraft. The fluid evacuator may be opened to allow atmospheric pressure to enter the vacuum chamber to quickly disengage the flexible skirt from the flat surface.

Abstract: An anti-rolling device for cylindrical containers, such as mailing tubes, has a stabilizing member with an internal aperture for inserting over a portion of the container. The outer periphery of the device is irregular, e.g., having flats, such that resting on a flat lowers the container to a stable position, and requires energy to rotate beyond the flat and consequently lift the container. The device may be slipped over a plug type cap or placed directly over the body of the container. In alternative embodiments, the device is provided in the form of a gasket, is made from a foam material, is split and resiliently grabs the container or has an elastic band holding it tightly to the container. The various embodiments may be used to retrofit an existing container. The stabilizer may be provided with one or more radial tabs, which may have burrs to grip the receptacle and/or feature a constraining ring to lock the cap into the receptacle.

Once engaged with the container, the contents may be poured through the inner channel and out through a pour spout formed distally from the connection members.
