  • Patent number: 7654418
Abstract: An airless dispenser pump assembly includes a pump mechanism with an inlet valve that is configured to efficiently pump viscous fluids and that is able to be pre-primed when the pump mechanism is attached to a container. In one form, the inlet valve includes a seal member that seals an inlet port of the pump and an outer support member that secures the inlet valve to the rest of the pump mechanism. Two or more legs generally extend in a circumferential direction between the support member and the seal member in order to create a large flow opening for fluid flow through the inlet valve when opened and to rapidly close the inlet valve. The pump mechanism further includes an outlet valve that is configured to draw fluid back from a nozzle of the pump after dispensing in order to minimize build up around the nozzle.

Abstract: A fluid container according to the present invention includes a container body having upper and lower openings, and further having a shoulder member and a side wall which extend between the upper and lower openings. The fluid container also includes a spacer abutting on the shoulder member of the container body, and a slidable valve slidably moving along an inner surface of the side wall of the container body in a hermetically sealed manner. The slidable valve defines a container space for holding fluid, in conjunction with the side wall of the container body. Further, a bottom cover is provided for covering across the lower opening of the container body. The spacer and the slidable valve include a spacer surface and a valve surface, respectively, which oppose to each other and are inclined at tilt angles between 5 and 30 degrees relative to a horizontal surface.

Abstract: A metered dispenser includes a housing including a reciprocable piston drive stem including an inlet opening at a first end thereof, a floating piston at a second end, and a passage between the first and second ends. An inlet valve is provided adjacent the first end for permitting entry of liquid product into the passage. A biased cocking mechanism is reciprocally disposed substantially within the housing. A biased loading mechanism is movable in a second generally opposite direction by the cocking mechanism, and is engageable with the piston drive stem to move the drive stem in the second direction. When the cocking mechanism is moved from an initial rest position toward the second direction, a series of operations allow the loading mechanism to project the drive stem in the first direction to dispense a metered dose of liquid product through a discharge orifice provided adjacent the second end.

Abstract: A support for manual grease guns has a base and lever-restoring mechanism. Grease guns conventionally have a pumping head with a barrel and lever joined thereto for cycling through pumping and restoring strokes between restored and depressed extremes. The restored extreme has the lever and barrel flared apart. Conversely, since the pumping stroke closes the flare, the depressed extreme has the lever brought alongside the barrel. The base has ground-engaging feet as well as clamps for clamping the grease gun tightly by the barrel, preferably with the lever projecting away for pedal-style depression in a generally vertical plane by a user stepping on it. The lever-restoring mechanism links the lever to the base, and yields under the user's step while the lever moves through pumping strokes, but restores the lever toward the restored extreme therefor as soon as the user takes his or her step off the lever.

  • Patent number: 6854622
Abstract: Accessories are provided for preventing the ingress of air into a dispensing pump (P) and to align a discharge aperture of the dispensing pump with a target, such as an eye (E). A dip tube (10) is disclosed that is sealed with a sealing plug (22) to serve as a liquid reservoir for the dispensing pump. A pliant dip tube (100) is also disclosed to which is mounted an anchor (108) that causes the dip tube (100) to be responsive to gravitational orientation of a dispensing pump (P). In a third embodiment of the invention, a liquid reservoir (200) is formed with a recess (208) that is covered by a semi-permeable membrane (212). The semi-permeable membrane restricts flow in and out of the recess (208) to maintain a supply of liquid (L) about an end (210) of a dip tube (206). In a fourth embodiment, a safety is provided that comprises a safety ball (304), a blind aperture (306) defined in a nozzle cap (302), and a conical depression (308) defined in the dispensing pump (P).

Abstract: An apparatus converts rotary motion of a motor drive shaft into oscillatory motion of a work piece, for example, in a power tool. The apparatus comprises a planetary gear assembly connected to the motor for rotating an output gear. The output gear meshes with a drive gear including a drive pin. The drive pin fits in a yoke slot for reciprocation of the yoke upon rotation of the drive gear. The yoke is operatively connected to the work piece. An air flow system cools the power tool housing. The housing has an inlet aperture in the handle portion and an outlet aperture for placing the interior of the housing in communication with the atmosphere. A wall integral with the handle portion engages the body of the motor housing between a first end and openings in the body. The wall provides a barrier to minimize air flow between an intake air portion of the interior of the housing and an exhaust air portion.

  • Patent number: 6659309
Abstract: A portion control dispensing apparatus for dispensing precise portions of a product in a tightly controlled manner that minimizes waste caused by residual product left undispensed in a container. The device provides a dispenser for fluid products stored in a flexible container, enabling a portion control pump combined with an extrusion apparatus to squeeze the flexible container, thus continuously directing all remaining product in the container towards the dispensing end. A portion control pump removes product from the container by peristaltic action. A preferred embodiment of the apparatus comprises a frame with an upwardly spring biased carriage configured to removably hold a flexible container that holds product to be dispensed. A pair of rollers is preferably situated at the top of the frame and is positioned such that the carriage will pull the flexible container upward between the rollers as product is dispensed from the container.

Abstract: Continuously shooting pneumatic grease gun structure including an air chamber housing defining therein an elongated air chamber. A push hole extends from the air chamber through one end of the housing to outer side thereof. A piston is reciprocally axially movably disposed in the air chamber between a start position and an end position. When in the end position, the piston permits the air in the air chamber to pass through the piston and escape from an outlet passage of the housing. A grease push rod is coaxially fitted in the push hole and synchronously movable along with the piston. A restoring spring is compressed between the end of the housing and the piston to resiliently keep the piston in the start position. A controlling valve is movably disposed on the housing between an open position and a close position.

  • Patent number: 6382472
Abstract: A container-dispenser for products which are viscous fluids such as liquid soap, which allows one-handed operation to supply a controlled amount of viscous fluid in a convenient and clean way and protects the contents from exposure to air. The container body is equipped with a piston that applies constant pressure on the product within the container. By applying force on a valve from above, a passage is opened allowing the product to be dispensed through the top of the container. When the pressure on the valve is relieved, the opening is closed, preventing further dispensing of the product. Excess product is temporarily retained until needed in the “bowl” resulting from the convex shape of the top of the container.

  • Patent number: 6302304
Abstract: A dispensing system has a dispenser pump mounted on top of a container. Product in the container reaches the intake of the dispenser pump through a vertical feed tube which extends down to the container's base. A follower plate fits around the feed tube and lies on top of the product and is slidable along the feed tube while sealing against the container's side wall. The foot of the feed tube interlocks mechanically with the container base, e.g. by an upward projection on the container base which fits into the feed-tube at its foot. A preferred form of the upward projection has a series of radial fins to permit the flow of product and an upwardly tapered region to facilitate installation of the feed tube. By preventing sideways movement of the feed tube the interlock arrangement improves the performance of the follower plate.
