Permitting Access Patents (Class 235/382)
  • Patent number: 9703953
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods of detecting user identity, differentiating between users of a computerized service, and detecting a cyber-attacker. An end-user device interacts and communicates with a server of a computerized server (a banking website, an electronic commerce website, or the like). The interactions are monitored, tracked and logged. User Interface (UI) interferences or irregularities are introduced; and the server tracks the response or the reaction of the end-user to such interferences. The system determines whether the user is a legitimate user, or a cyber-attacker or automated script posing as the legitimate user. The system utilizes classification of users into classes or groups, to deduce or predict how a group-member would behave when accessing the service through a different type of device. The system identifies user-specific traits that are platform-independent and thus can be further monitored when the user switches from a first platform to a second platform.

Abstract: A first mobile device receives a request to send information updates from the first mobile device to the second mobile device, the request specifying a predefined geographical region. In response to the request, the first mobile device checks its current location and determines whether the current location is within the predefined geographical region. After determining that the current location of the first mobile device is within the predefined geographical region, the first mobile device sends a first information update to the second mobile device. Subsequently, the first mobile device sends a second information update to the second mobile device after determining that the current location of the first mobile device is outside the predefined geographical region.

Abstract: A latency analysis system determines a latency period, such as a wait time, at a user destination. To determine the latency period, the latency analysis system receives location history from multiple user devices. With the location histories, the latency analysis system identifies points-of-interest that users have visited and determines the amount of time the user devices were at a point-of-interest. For example, the latency analysis system determines when a user device entered and exited a point-of-interest. Based on the elapsed time between entry and exit, the latency analysis system determines how long the user device was inside the point-of-interest. By averaging elapsed times for multiple user devices, the latency analysis system determines a latency period for the point-of-interest. The latency analysis system then uses the latency period to provide latency-based recommendations to a user. For example, the latency analysis system may determine a shopping route for a user.

  • Patent number: 9460573
Abstract: A radio frequency identity (RFID) tag. The tag comprises a processor, a memory, wherein the memory stores private information and public information, and a radio transceiver configured to receive a request for information from an RFID reader and to transmit a reply to the request for information. The tag further comprises an application stored in the memory that, when executed by the processor, parses a request for information from the RFID reader received by the radio transceiver, and determines whether the RFID reader is authorized to receive the private information. When the RFID reader is determined to be authorized, the application reads the private information from the memory and sends the private information to the radio transceiver to transmit; when the RFID reader is determined to not be authorized, the application reads the public information and sends the public information to the radio transceiver to transmit.

  • Patent number: 9454858
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for spoofing bone conduction signals. According to one aspect, a device can compare a first unique body signature associated with a first user to a second unique body signature associated with a second user to determine a first unique effect of a first body of the first user on a signal and a second unique effect of a second body of the second user on the signal. The device can generate an authentication signal based upon the first unique effect and the second unique effect to include signal characteristics that, after propagating through the first body of the first user, are representative of the second unique body signature. The device can transmit the authentication signal through the first body of the first user to an authentication device that authenticates the first user on behalf of the second user.

  • Patent number: 9436816
Abstract: A computer may identify an individual according to one or more biometrics based on various physiological aspects of the individual, such as metrics of various features of the face, gait, fingerprint, or voice of the individual. However, biometrics are often computationally intensive to compute, inaccurate, and unable to scale to identify an individual among a large set of known individuals. Therefore, the biometric identification of an individual may be supplemented by identifying one or more devices associated with the individual (e.g., a mobile phone, a vehicle driven by the individual, or an implanted medical device). When an individual is registered for identification, various device identifiers of devices associated with the individual may be stored along with the biometrics of the individual. Individuals may then be identified using both biometrics and detected device identifiers, thereby improving the efficiency, speed, accuracy, and scalability of the identification.
