  • Patent number: 6588684
Abstract: A fluid injector system for use in tank cleaning is provided, the injector system including an injector head block housing two disc-shaped injectors which may be rotated inside of the injector head block to change the orientation of bores extending through the disc-shaped injectors, which discharge pressurized fluid therethrough. The injector head block depends downwardly from a housing, and is rotatable relative to the housing by rotating a drive tube assembly housed partially within the housing and connected to the injector head block. The disc-shaped injectors are rotated by a vertical movement of the injector head block by virtue of a linkage assembly linking the injectors to a portion of the structure that is vertically stationary when the injector head block is moved vertically.

  • Publication number: 20030071144
Abstract: An air brush is shown and described including a replaceable, rotatable, nozzle head including a media port and a needle arrangement. Media contamination of the air brush is limited to the removable nozzle head, thereby making the air brush body free of media contamination. By rotatable mounting of the nozzle head, a variety of media sources are made available, ranging from gravity fed devices such as media top and side cups to suction fed devices such as media jars. The trigger arrangement of the present invention presents an actuator shaft movable longitudinally in response to trigger movement for engagement of the needle of the nozzle head. Mechanical coupling between the air brush body and nozzle head is limited to structural coupling for mounting the nozzle head and an abutment relationship between the actuator shaft and the needle. This allows rotational freedom of movement for the nozzle head relative to the body, and also ease of dismounting by simply separating the nozzle head from the air brush body.

Abstract: The present invention provides a new waterfall apparatus water reservoirs such as pools, spa's and the like. It comprises a manifold having a water inlet connected to the a water supply, preferably the water supply from the reservoir's plumbing. The manifold has internal baffles to remove turbulence from the water, which is then directed to a spillway water outlet. The spillway has a through slot that allows water to flow out from the manifold. It also has a removable outlet cap which forms the water into a particular waterfall shape. Another embodiment of the invention for spas, has a tubular body and a outlet that is in the form of a longitudinal slot in the body. The outlet cap is then mounted in the slot. In both embodiments the outlet cap can be easily removed to clean the apparatus if debris becomes lodged within it. It can also be removed if the spillway becomes damaged or it the pool/spa owner would like to change the type of waterfall produced by the apparatus.

Abstract: An apparatus is used for distributing a slurry flow to plural feed conduits. It has particular application in the injection of swine manure into the soil as fertilizer. The apparatus includes a circular manifold with a central inlet for delivering slurry to the manifold and outlet ports spaced around the outer wall of the manifold for connection to the respective feed conduits. An impeller in the manifold has back swept impeller blades mounted for rotation so that the impeller blades sweep in sequence past the outlet ports. The impeller blades produce pressurized zones in front of them as they sweep in sequence past the outlet ports. This produces a pulsating flow in the feed conduits, ameliorating blockage problems with the conduits. The impeller also includes knives that rotate around the inside of the outer wall and anvils mounted on the outer wall so the knives will act with the anvils to sever trash in the slurry flow. The knives and the anvils are oppositely inclined to produce a shearing action.

The body has a fluid inlet, a first fluid outlet, a second fluid outlet, and a central passage defined therein. The central passage is in fluid communication with each of the fluid inlet, the first fluid outlet, and the second fluid outlet. The central passage is also in fluid communication with the mixing chamber such that each of the fluid inlet, the first fluid outlet, and the second fluid outlet is in fluid communication with the mixing chamber. Moreover, the apparatus includes a cap secured to the first fluid outlet of the body so as to prevent fluid from advancing through the first fluid outlet. Yet further, the apparatus includes a sprinkler assembly secured to the second fluid outlet of the body.

  • Patent number: 6142387
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multipurpose air fountain, and more particularly to an air fountain which can join with various blowpipes and accessory components to assemble an especial air tool for meeting different purposes--like a cleaning air gun, an inflating gun, a blasting dust gun and a painting spray gun. The present invention provides an air fountain that can connect with different length blowpipes, which can swivel to any orientation to improve the flexibility of the operation and to meet the necessaries of variety working places. The blowpipe can be replaced with an inflating adapter so that the air fountain works as an inflating gun for the tire. As attaching a spraying adapter, by a manifold with an extending hose, the air fountain can be refitted into a cleaning gun with a good absorbing effect. By means of the various attachments, the air fountain provided by the present invention can be refitted into a blast gun, an inflating gun, a cleaning gun or a painting gun.

  • Patent number: 6123272
Abstract: A nozzle assembly including a nozzle turret rotatably mounted on a body. The body has a face, an outlet in the face, and an annular seat in the face, surrounding the outlet. A relatively non-compressible strut extends from the face of the body, while a relatively non-compressible spacer abuts the face. A compressible sealing member is positioned in the seat and, when not compressed, extends out of the seat and further from the face of the body than the spacer. The turret has a bore rotatably received on the strut, and the turret abuts the spacer. Nozzles are arrayed in the turret such that the nozzles sequentially align with the outlet of the body as the turret is rotated on the strut. A fastener secures the turret to the strut such that the turret compresses the sealing member to provide a fluid-tight seal between the outlet and the nozzle aligned with the outlet. According to one embodiment, the nozzle assembly further includes structure for indexing the rotation of the turret with respect to the body.

  • Patent number: 6085996
Abstract: A fluid nozzle for an air assisted spray device is disclosed, wherein the fluid nozzle may have a nozzle tip therein which is more resistant to fluid abrasion than other portions of the fluid nozzle. In one embodiment, a plurality of nozzle tips are capable of being interchangeably used with a single main body of the fluid nozzle. Thus, replacement nozzle tips can be used when: (a) a nozzle tip effectiveness deteriorates due to wear, and (b) a fluid to be sprayed requires a nozzle tip with a different configuration. Further, in one embodiment, the fluid nozzle of the present invention provides an annular plenum between a recess wall of the main body, and an exterior portion of the nozzle tip. Such a plenum is used to enhance the volume and turbulence within an air chamber of the spray device prior to the air exiting for atomizing the fluid being sprayed. Thus, such enhanced turbulence provides a more uniform air velocity exiting the air chamber.
