  • Patent number: 7823852
Abstract: A bracket adapted to be used in sets for supporting planter boxes, benches, and similar elongated items from multiple vertical supports such as the balusters on a deck railing. The bracket mounts securely and strongly on the baluster without requiring fasteners, and is easily adjusted up and down and removed as necessary. The bracket can be formed from a single piece of stock, for example using a metal rod formed into shape. The bracket has a generally triangular shape with an upper support arm terminating in a squared open hook that mounts from behind to engage the sides of the baluster, a lower angled support arm extending down and in from the upper arm toward the baluster, and a baluster-abutting foot portion that engages the face of the baluster when the upper arm is horizontal. An adapter can be used on the open end of the hook to ensure a tight fit with undersized balusters.

Abstract: A load carrying apparatus. The apparatus has a rod section with a cross-section which extends along a rod section length. The rod section has a series of bends which define the following: a load carrying portion, cantilevered arm portion, an anchor portion. The anchor portion attaches to a pole which is arranged along a vertical axis perpendicular to a longitudinal and transverse axis. The cantilevered arm portion extends from the vertical pole and the anchor portion. The load carrying portion extends from the cantilevered arm portion and maintains a payload at an offset location from the longitudinal axis. The offset location of the payload results in a torque about the cantilevered arm portion. The cantilevered arm portion transfers to the anchor portion a first moment and a second moment. • Patent number: 6736356
Abstract: A toothbrush holder adapter is provided which consists of an integral, unitary component with a toothbrush receiving section and a rear section adapted to be inserted into the holes or openings in a wall-mounted toothbrush holder. The receiving section of the member comprises dual side members forming a tapered opening into which a toothbrush is inserted and retained below its brush head. The dual side members merge to form the rear section, an extension portion which is insertable into an opening in the holder. The adapter is entirely coated with rubberized or plastic-type coating to assist in gripping the surfaces of the holder and the toothbrush handle, and in maintaining the adapter securely in the holder when a toothbrush is positioned in it. In an alternate configuration the extension portion of the adapter can be secured to a suction cup, in order to allow the adapter to support a toothbrush on a substantially vertical surface, such as a mirror or tile wall.

  • Patent number: 6526721
Abstract: A support for holding a fluid-impervious barrier and/or keyway form in position during the pouring of concrete is provided. The support carries the barrier and a pair of spaced legs for attachment to a corresponding pair of stable mounting points, such as reinforcement members, bars or the like. The support is positioned such that the barrier is at least partially covered by concrete during the pouring of a first member, such as a slab or footing, and then the remainder is covered when a second concrete member, such as a wall, is poured atop the first member. By placing a plurality of spaced supports at selected intervals, an elongated barrier may be reliably held in place during pouring. One or more forms may also be carried by the support during the pouring of the first concrete member for defining a keyway, either alone or in conjunction with the fluid-impervious barrier. Most preferably, each keyway form is held in place by a separate wing carried on each support.
