Abstract: By providing a hand holdable, reusable, holding system which enables users to insert any small diameter, shaft supporting pyrotechnic device, such as a sparkler, into an aperture and be assured that the shaft of the pyrotechnic device is securely locked to the holding system for protecting the individual from harm, an easily constructed, easily used holding system is attained which is capable of enabling any elongated, small diameter wire or shaft to be quickly inserted into the holding system and securely lockingly engaged therewith. In this way, the pyrotechnic material which is adhered to the upper portion of the elongated shaft or wire is easily held by the user in a safe and effective manner.

Abstract: A fishing rod retention device adapted to have a J-hook member rotate about a slotted region so when the fishing rod is in a stored location it is substantially retained therein and the fisherman with ease can remove the rod from a stored location to a removed position.

Abstract: A device for hanging objects from an outside part of a building, including a mast for mounting the device to an outside area of a structure such as a porch, deck, patio and the like. The mast extends upward at least above any railing on the deck. A pivot head is slidably mounted on the mast for rotation about the vertical axis, the pivot head extending horizontally out from the outside area to its extended end. An extension arm has a first end engaging the extended end of the pivot head and a second end for holding a hanger rail for hanging objects such as flower pots and bird feeders thereon.

Abstract: A pole-type member support device and method may be utilized to support, among other things, Christmas trees. A molded receptacle body has a multi-sided opening therein, to receive the pole-type member. The pole-type member is secured in position by a moveable support member, which may be a threaded shaft, which is inserted through the receptacle body and which extends into the interior of the opening, so that it may contact the pole-type member. In one embodiment, the threaded shaft has a handle, to facilitate turning thereof.

Abstract: A sunshade apparatus for shading a chair has a flexible canopy element, a support structure for supporting the flexible canopy element above the chair, and a pair of attachment elements. Each of the attachment elements is attached to the support structure for mounting the flexible canopy element above the chair. Each of the pair of attachment elements includes a clamp having a first locking portion hingably attached to a second locking portion, and a locking screw for clamping the first and second locking portions around a tubular element of the chair.

The main body has a hollow cylinder section (10); an ell-shaped tang section (20) at the top of the cylinder, ridge steps (22) on the tang section; and a rail section (30) formed on the exterior cylinder wall. The clip (70) has a snap (71) on one end and channel guides (72) at the other end to fit within the rail section (30). The clip slidably engages the rail section (30) and tang section (20) and is secured in place by closing the snap (71) on the ridge steps (22). The holder is made by an injection molding process using commercially available plastic resins.

Abstract: A device and method for displaying a flag at night under a light, wherein the flag is attached to a vertical rope, and a weight is attached to the bottom of the rope. The rope and flag can be easily raised or lowered, and the flag will fly in any wind direction without becoming wrapped around a supporting pole.

Abstract: A multi-purpose support plate for use with a boating accessory assembly is disclosed. The multi-purpose support plate includes a first mounting end portion having a first clamping region, a center portion having a top layer, a bottom layer, and a central bore, a second mounting end portion having a second clamping region positioned opposite said first mounting end portion, wherein the first and second clamping regions are in removable engagement with an accessory clamp operatively engaged to a boating structure. The first and second clamping regions are affixed to a boat structure by at least one accessory clamp assembly, the accessory clamp assembly being constructed to fit the mounting end portions at their respective clamping regions by frictional engagement.

A thumb screw screws through the adjusting member to press a driving strip to push forcefully against a vertical side of a wall to secure the shank fixing device striding on the wall so the shank of a parasol may be inserted in the insert tube and stabilized by a thumb screw screwing through the insert tube and pressing against a driving block in the insert tube and pressing against the shank to support the parasol stably.

Abstract: A boat seat release system for assisting in the efficient and safe removal of a boat seat from a taper lock base. The boat seat release system includes a collar attachable to a pedestal and a pedal pivotally attached to the collar for selectively engaging a taper lock lever of a taper lock base to release the pedestal from base. The collar preferably has one or more rollers for engaging an upper surface of the base thereby simultaneously lifting the pedestal thereby breaking the frictional seal of the pedestal and the base.

Abstract: A portable fishing rod holder for use when fishing with a single or multiple rods designed using a cylinder shaped body with u-shaped grooves which have been machined into the cylinder for the placement of fishing rods while in use, and which has at least two long, self-adhering straps to attach the rod holder by each end in the horizontal or vertical orientation to stable objects of varying shapes and sizes which may be found at the water's edge, and which has shorter straps which extend over the rod shaft after it is inserted into one of the u-shaped grooves and which hold the rod in place, and which has an opening at either end of the cylinder body which is large enough to receive the grip-end of the fishing pole, and which has hook storage openings.

Abstract: A two-component pivotal cable support includes a stationary clamp and a movable cradle mounted on the clamp for supporting a cable wherein the clamp is detachably connected to a stanchion of a boat. The movable cradle, which is pivotally mounted on the clamp, is formed with a curved, open channel portion that is arcuate in side elevation. This channel portion serves as a holder for supporting equipment, or, in the present example, a cable. The cradle includes an open frame with opposite sides joined by a cross member wherein the center of the cradle is exposed and the channel portion of the cradle is supported by perpendicular support posts. These perpendicular support posts can withstand excessive amounts of cable weight. The support posts join the cradle with the cross member midway between the frame opposite ends. A cylindrical spindle is perpendicular to the cradle and downwardly depends from the cradle.

A polygonal wall extends from a side of the connection member and encloses the through hole. A rectangular extension tube is connected to a vehicle and is inserted through the through hole. Abstract: A modular railing system supports a plurality of rails in vertically-spaced configuration. The railing system includes a plurality of baluster units arranged between rail sets to support the rails. The baluster units include a plurality of rail supports grouped into double barrel support pairs or single barrel support pairs. The baluster units may include a short section of kick rail, and longer sections of kick rail may extend between adjacent baluster units. Also, additional rails may be joined to the modular railing system using baluster extensions or extender bars. A stair rail adjuster may be used, particularly when railing staircases, to permit adjustment of the relative vertical height of one end of a rail. To attach rails and balusters to stair treads, a finished-stair-tread adapter may be used.

The universal clip enables any type of sunshade apparatus to be attached to any type of beach chair or lounge chair at any desired height above the occupant of the chair and at any desired angular orientation relative to the chair.

Abstract: A display assembly holds a flag upright for display at all times through use of a horizontal support bar. The horizontal support bar may include a gripping collar. The display assembly includes a mast of a certain diameter and a mounting bracket. The gripping collar fits securely onto the mast, so that the horizontal support bar is coupled to the display assembly. When a flag is simultaneously attached to both the mast of the assembly and the horizontal support bar, the flag remains upright. The assembly can be mounted to a fixture, such as the window of an automobile, by a mounting bracket or other similar device.

Abstract: In a mechanism for inserting and removing electronic circuit units against a shelf of an electrical device where the electronic circuit units are installed, the shelf includes a groove forming part, the electrical circuit unit includes a rotatable lever, a rotatable stopper, and a housing member, and the electrical circuit unit is locked with the shelf by rotating the lever.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder having one or more rod stations attached to a support bar. Each rod station includes a loop terminating in a pair of legs received in a pair of apertures in the support bar. In a preferred embodiment, the rod holder provides a plurality of rod stations to improve a fisherman's chances of catching a fish. In another preferred embodiment, the rod holder is configured with a pair of clamps receivable over the rim of a bucket allowing the rod holder to be used virtually anywhere. The bucket may be filled with water to provide storage for live bait.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods provide an umbrella holder that is securable to a telecommunications cabinet or to an electrical cabinet. The umbrella holder provides greater environmental protection of the cabinet and of the hardware and equipment contained within the cabinet and increases access to the work area surrounding the cabinet. The umbrella holder can engage a top portion of an open cabinet door for support to position the umbrella, or, alternatively, it can wedge under a top edge of the cabinet to frictionally retain the umbrella in position when an umbrella pole is secured in the umbrella holder.

The device includes a spacer member with generally opposed spacer first and second ends, an anchoring member for anchoring the spacer member to the structure, and a grasping member for grasping the post to the spacer member. The anchoring member releasably connects to the spacer member adjacent the spacer first end via a first securing assembly so as to clamp the guardrail there between. The grasping member releasably connects to the spacer member adjacent the spacer second end via a second securing assembly so as to clamp the post there between.

The device includes a receiving socket to temporarily receive an adapter, the receiving socket including a maintaining means for maintaining the adapter in the socket and allow the user to quickly secure and release the adapter, and a mounting assembly, coupled to the upper receiving socket and configured to be attached to the ATV. Using a plurality of adapters, each having an auxiliary item attached, provides a mounting system for quickly interchanging auxiliary items and securing them to the ATV with minimum effort.

Extending outwardly from the base is a rigid and durable substrate. Extending through the substrate, at the front area is at least one groove and extending through a side of the substrate is an additional groove. In use, the present invention is designed and configured to be quickly and efficiently removably secured to any horizontal or vertical support, such as a pier, bridge or boat railing or the like. Thereby providing for the groove located at the front area of the substrate to be ideally suited for when the device is secured to a horizontal support. The groove located on the side being ideally suited for when the device is secured to a vertical support.

The position of the collar is adjustable along the length of the drawbar, and the connection between the collar and the drawbar is held stably with a fastener, such as a bolt and wing nut or an allen set screw. When the collar of the flag pole holder is attached to the drawbar, it does not interfere with the ball hitch of a standard trailer hitch, and such ball hitch trailer hitch may still be used to tow a trailer or other item.

The base body has a hook portion obliquely upwardly extended from one side thereof and a retaining portion downwardly extended from an opposite side thereof, the retaining portion having a semicircular bottom notch.

Abstract: The invention relates to a bracket-mounting assembly for mounting a bar bracket to a vehicle frame, the bar bracket being adapted to carry vehicle accessories such as a mudflap. The bracket-mounting assembly attaches to a vehicle frame via a single bolt passed through a penetration in the vehicle frame and threadably connected to the bracket-mounting assembly by a central threaded hole in the bracket-mounting assembly. The bracket-mounting assembly further includes a generally vertically-oriented shaft opening for receiving a portion of the bar bracket and supporting the bar bracket with respect to the vehicle frame. The bracket-mounting assembly includes a rotation-resisting connector for inhibiting rotation of the bracket-mounting assembly relative to the vehicle frame about the axis of the bolt.

Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus for securing a wheelchair brake handle extension to a wheelchair when the brake bandle extension is not in use. The invention has an aperture that allows the invention to be placed onto an existing brake handle. The invention fits securely onto the brake handle and allows a portion of the brake handle to extend beyond the top portion of the invention. A brake handle extension can then be placed onto the exposed portion of the brake handle and the brake can be actuated via the brake handle extension When the brake handle extension is not in use, the brake handle extension can be stored in the hook of the invention by frictional engagement with the inside of the hook.

Abstract: An umbrella attached to a chair for self-supported deployment thereof and including a cover of fabric stretched over hinged ribs radiating from a central pole for movement from a collapsed position around the pole to an extended position from the pole to provide shade to the chair occupant. One end of the pole is pivotally mounted allowing the pole to pivot from a downwardly depending position to a generally upwardly directed position where the fabric cover may be moved to its extended shade providing position. A latch device is attached to the pole for releasably holding it in it's upwardly directed position.

Abstract: The DSS Uni-Mount is a ¼″ aluminum plate which is designed to mount a standard DSS (small dish) mounting arm to the gable end or hip edge of most residences or structures. This device virtually eliminates the need for roof penetrations in order to mount a DSS satellite dish. The top of the DSS Uni-Mount is machined at a roof angle of 5 & 12 and is designed for application to the gable end of a structure. It accommodates roof pitches from 4 & 12 thru 8 & 12. The bottom is cut at 90° to the sides thus enabling mounting to flat or hip portion of the roof line by inversion of the unit. A total of eight ⅜″ diameter holes are drilled thru the Uni-Mount in strategic places to allow the installer to match the DSS mounting arm holes with the DSS Uni-Mount plate. Lag bolts and machine bolts are then screwed thru and to the DSS Uni-Mount in order to secure the DSS mounting arm to the gable or eaves of the roofline.

The disk drive includes a head disk assembly that includes first and second side walls. The disk drive further includes first and second side rails and a securing system for securing the side rails to the side walls. The first and second side rails engage the first and second guide channels, respectively, for supporting the disk drive within the chassis. The securing system includes an engagement mechanism and a double-sided adhesive resilient mechanism. The engagement mechanism projects between the first and second side rails and the first and second side walls, respectively, of the head disk assembly.

Abstract: An implement mounting assembly for attachment to a horizontal bar of a vehicle including a rigid mounting bracket, the mounting bracket having a U-shaped cross-section, the mounting bracket having a first generally rectangular front face and a second generally rectangular rear face, both of the faces having holes therein for receipt of bolts for connecting the bracket to a weight bar of a vehicle, and a hollow rigid receiver rigidly connected to the bracket, the receiver preferably being generally rectangular in cross-section and being oriented vertically upward when the bracket is connected to the weight bar; the rear face of the bracket preferably having a generally rectangular slot therein for placement over a supporting member which may be connected to the weight bar. Preferably the receiver has a collar located around the outside of the upper end thereof for providing additional strength to the upper end of the receiver.

One is to fit in the end of an transporter's arm rest where held by fasteners. Another is to clamp it around the arm rest and holder. If it is desired to mount the umbrella holder vertically, extensions configured in the shape of the arm rest may be used. The sheath is also mounted to the frame structure of the transporter. The sheath mounting can be done in several ways One is by plastic tie(s) around the sheath and around the frame structure. Another is by bolts that extend through the sheath into the transporter's seat or by a clamp structure.

Abstract: The present invention is a holding device that can be used easily and simply mount and hold the cylindrical post of a large protecting umbrella or parasol at various angles to a variety of openwork guardrails outside patio or on a balcony. The tightening of securing bolts of the device simultaneously anchors the holding device to the guardrails and grasps the cylindrical post within symmetrical jaws of the device.

Abstract: A device for mounting a sprinkler to a ceiling support rail in a building is disclosed. This device consists of two vertical sidewalls integrated into a U-shaped single structure by a top wall. The two sidewalls are bent inwardly at their lower ends to form clip flanges for gripping the head of the ceiling support rail positioned between the two sidewalls. A first bolt hole is formed at the lower portion of each sidewall. A first locking bolt is threaded into the bolt holes of the two sidewalls so as to tighten the lower portions of the two sidewalls and allow the two sidewalls to firmly grip the ceiling support rail. Each of the two sidewalls also has a notch at its upper portion and seats the reducer support beam in the notch. The top wall has a second bolt hole. A second locking bolt is threaded into the second bolt hole so as to hold the reducer support beam seated in the notches of the two sidewalls.

Abstract: A system for attaching accessories to a base structure that is disposed underwater in pools, spas, hot tubs and the like is described as including an upright pedestal support assembly that is detachably-attachable with respect to the base by a twist-lock “bayonet” type of a mounting system. This permits the pedestal support assembly to be attached to the base and removed therefrom as desired. The base structure remains permanently attached to the surrounding structures that are disposed underwater at the bottom or sides thereof. The surrounding structures are often formed of gunite. The base includes methods of anchoring it in place and of reinforcing it to the surrounding structures. Various devices are described that attach to the pedestal support assembly and include tables, umbrellas, stools, benches, basketball hoops and backboards, thermometers, and the like.

Abstract: Various video camera supports for use in taping the swing of a golfer during real golf play are disclosed. The supports may be attached to a golf bag, a riding golf car, or used with a hand-pulled golf car. The supports may be modified to support an umbrella as well, or separate umbrella supports that accommodate using an umbrella during golf play are provided.

The mounting base is designed for pivotally mounting to resting surface. The mounting base has a threaded bore therein with an opening in the top face of the mounting base. The threaded bore is designed for receiving a bottom end of a flag pole therein.

Abstract: A fishing pole holder includes a first pole clip (10), a second pole clip (44) and two straps (36, 58). The first pole clip (10) carries the receiving portion of a snap (32). The second pole clip (44) is D-shaped and carries two female snap members (54, 55). The first strap (36) carries a snap portion (42) for attachment to the first pole clip (10) and the second strap (58) carries two snap portions (64, 65) for attachment to the second pole clip (44). The first strap (36) is wrapped about a fisherman's forearm or wrist and the second strap (58) about the person's leg or ankle. The butt, handle end (70) of a fishing pole (72) may be placed in the second pole clip (44) and, fairly near the pole tip, the pole (72) is pushed into the first pole clip (10). Thus, both hands can be used for tasks other than holding the pole (72), e.g., changing lures or baiting.

Abstract: A pump support device for use in securing a hand pump within an opening formed in an upper wall of a container, such as a drum, for dispensing the contents of the container. The pump support device includes a base member defining an internal passage within which a body portion of the hand pump is received. The base member is configured so as to overlie the opening in the upper wall of the container, and a releasable engagement member, such as a thumb screw, is interconnected with the base member for selectively fixing the pump body in position relative to the base member. A mounting arrangement is interconnected with the base member for engaging a lip of the container for selectively securing the base member in position. The mounting arrangement includes an arm extending outwardly from the base member and terminating in a downturned outer end portion located outwardly of the lip.
