  • Patent number: 6045110
Abstract: A flag holder includes a flag arm bracket having a generally U-shaped body with two opposing edges. The U-shaped body wraps around a frame member, such as a reinforcing batten, of the highway sign, to thereby align the flag arm bracket with the frame member. An aperture in the flag arm bracket accommodates a shaft, such as a bolt. The shaft passes through both the aperture of the flag arm bracket and also through an aperture in the frame member of the highway sign. The bolt secures the flag arm bracket to the frame member, and the flag arm bracket holds at least one flag arm to the flag arm bracket.

  • Patent number: 5975479
Abstract: A gunwale mounted fishing rod holder comprising an inboard arm to support the butt end of a rod and an outboard arm to support the reel portion thereof. The improvement involves the addition of a latching structure which securely encloses the butt end of the rod while the baited line is in the water but which opens when the user grasps the rod and lifts it in the event of a strike. The continuous upward movement of the rod saves time and allows the user to set the hook more quickly than when it is first necessary to shift the rod in an outboard direction before the rod can be lifted out of the holder.

  • Patent number: 4455030
Abstract: A two-wheeled golf cart provided with a container intended for receiving the wheel undercarriage, the legs of which can be moved apart to operative position, and on which the container is arranged in weightless outbalanced condition, whereby the wheel undercarriage can be readily folded out of the container and retracted into it respectively by means of a simple handgrip only, and thereby being ready for immediate use. This task is solved thereby that the pull rod is designed as a two-armed lever, the shorter arm of which is adapted to act upon a first linkage system for causing the wheel undercarriage to be retracted into and folded out of the container respectively, a second linkage system being provided to be acted upon by the pull rod in order to act upon the wheel undercarriage, when this is in its folded-out position, for effecting that its legs, each of which carries a wheel, are moved apart and pulled together respectively.

  • Patent number: 4244550
Abstract: An umbrella supporting device for detachably supporting an umbrella substantially in an upright position at the center of the handlebar of a bicycle. A supporting post is removably attached substantially in an upright position to the stem of the handlebar of the bicycle. The supporting post is divided into upper and lower post members, the former of which is telescopically received and locked in position in the latter. A clamping mechanism is attached to the upper end of the upper post member so as to detachably clamp the handle of the umbrella. The clamping mechanism has a pair of clamping members, the inner sides of which face each other so as to hold inbetween the umbrella handle. An operating lever or bar is used to bring, when manually operated, one of the clamping members toward the other for the clamping purpose.

  • Patent number: 4222280
Abstract: A speed changing unit preferably for use on a model aircraft or powered foot-launched aircraft. A usual engine is mounted on a frame which in turn is adapted to be mounted on the frame of an aircraft. A pair of pulleys are mounted on the frame in a spaced relationship with a drive belt drivingly interconnecting the pulleys. One of the pulleys is mounted on the drive shaft of the engine for positive rotation with the drive shaft. The other pulley is rotatably mounted on a stationary eccentric shaft which is adjustably mounted on the frame. A propeller is mounted directly on this other pulley for rotation therewith when driven by the engine drive shaft and belt. Manual rotation of the eccentric shaft within its mounting adjusts the spacing between the spaced pulleys permitting different size drive shaft pulleys to be used with a standard drive belt to achieve different propeller speeds and thrust characteristics for a particular aircraft.

  • Patent number: 4079559
Abstract: A hinged base attachable to a foundation and providing hinge means whereby a lighting pole can be tilted, and readily installed, removed and replaced. The base includes a pair of hinge plates, one of which carries a hinge pin and the other of which carries a hinge clevis. The hinge clevis has a channel with a first and a second channel width. The hinge pin has a first and a second pin width. The second widths are larger than the first widths and the first and second pin widths are no larger than the respective first and second channel widths. The pole is attachable to one of the hinge plates. When the other hinge plate is attached to the foundation, the pole can be tilted, and attached or detached thereto by passing the pin through the clevis channel with the first widths aligned. The pole is then tilted upright, and the first widths are no longer aligned. The clevis and pin are thus engaged, and the pole is firmly held to the foundation.
