Abstract: A refuse bag holder for holding a collapsible bag in an open orientation includes a mount portion including an elongate member having an upper end and lower end. A hook is attached to the upper end. A loop is hingedly coupled to the elongate member by a hinge and is positioned on an opposite side of the elongate member with respect to the hook. The loop has an outer surface and an inner surface. A coupling member removably attaches the refuse bag to the loop. A securing member releasably secures the loop in a generally horizontal position. An edge of a refuse bag may be extended between the loop and the coupling member such that the refuse bag is held in an open orientation.

Abstract: The bag insert of the present invention is an apparatus for aiding in the management of a waste collection bag during waste collection. In one embodiment, the bag insert is placed inside the waste collection bag and then expanded. Once expanded, the bag insert maintains the bag in an upright and open position. Further, the bag insert forms a hollow rectangular tube such that waste can be placed inside the bag by dropping the waste through the open top of the bag insert. The waste collection bag may be placed inside the expanded bag insert, wherein the bag insert maintains the bag in an upright and substantially open position. After waste collection is complete, the bag insert is capable of being folded along several axes such that the size of the bag insert is reduced for storage.

  • Patent number: 6679462
Abstract: A stiffener apparatus, including first and second stiffener body sections, each section forming an open, geometric structure, with U-shaped channels facilitating mechanically mating the two sections, i.e. a quasi-congruent, multi-planar surface, snap-ring construction, that effects reliable compression of flexible material disposed between two mating sections. The stiffener sections are sized for fitting an opening of a flexible trash bag. An integral clamping mechanism securely latches the stiffener sections together and facilitates separating the sections. Mating channels compress the outer edges of the trash bag's opening material, greatly improving the compression fit keeping the trash bag open, especially in heavily loaded trash bag conditions. Each stiffener section, has a scooping ramp edge member for channeling material into the trash bag. One stiffener section has at least one handle with a notch for hanging the apparatus. The apparatus has means for attaching an optional hinged cover.

Abstract: A holder for drying plastic bags including a base with series of interconnected sockets; and dowels, each dowel having a smooth and rounded end, to accommodate a bag and an opposite end being inserted into the sockets of the base. A bag is placed upside-down over the dowels to dry. The dowels may be positioned in different sockets to accommodate different size bags. Alternatively, the end of the dowel being placed in the base may be hollow thereby accommodating a spring placed between the sockets of the base and the dowels so that the dowels may be easily adjusted. The bag holder may optionally provide a horizontal attachment to permit simultaneous drying of a plastic bag and a dish towel.

Abstract: A holding device for thermoplastic bags utilizes bags having side panels and a reclosable seal at one end thereof, the reclosable seal comprising a pair of opposed interlocking closure strips and a slider for opening and closing the closure strips. The holding device comprises a support surface and a pair of elongate holding members each having a proximal portion adjacent the support surface and a distal portion wherein the holding members define a channel therebetween. The channel has a first section for receiving and enclosing a portion of the slider and a second section for receiving only the closure strips but not the slider. The channel further has a slot formed by the distal portions of the holding members wherein the slot has a width sufficient to allow the side panels of the thermoplastic bag to enter the slot but prevent passage of the closure strips through the slot.
