Abstract: A passenger's air bag includes an inlet port to receive gases. Synthetic resin is attached to the edge of the inlet port to provide a plate-like edge. An air bag has a rectangular inlet port. A plurality of fabrics is joined together by stitching and connected to the edge of the inlet port. Synthetic resin is attached to the edge of the inlet port to provide a plate-like edge. An air bag system for a passenger's seat comprises a housing having a rectangular opening, an air bag stored in a folded condition in the housing and inflated through the opening of the housing, a modular cover adapted to close the opening of the housing and torn or bent to permit deployment of the air bag and an inflator actuated to generate gases to inflate the air bag. The edge of the inlet port of the air bag is attached to the opening of the housing.

Abstract: A paper sack carrying wheeled dolly is provided having a bottom platform supporting the bottom of a biodegradable paper sack such as is now required by some municipalities in their recycling programs. The upright frame of the dolly has a rearwardly extended top handle portion and mounts a top entry guide extending forwardly therefrom vertically aligned with the bottom platform with a bottom shank sized to fit within the top of the paper sack. A retainer strap having opposite ends fastened to opposite sides of the top of the frame has resiliently deflectable convex portions cam action latch tightened on opposite sides and the front of a bag at the top against the bag entry shank of the top entry guide.

Abstract: A collapsible holder for thermoplastic bags having support holes in the handles thereof has two arms pivotally mounted at the top of the holder. A platform is pivotally mounted at the bottom of the holder. In the bag loading position, the platform extends outwardly to support a bag being loaded. As the platform is moved to the collapsed position against the holder, a linkage moves the arms downwardly and inwardly so the holder extends a minimal distance from the vertical surface on which it is mounted.

Abstract: A refuse bag support system for sorting and storing refuse of varying types and volume in a bag-holding structure of a total volume which is substantially less than the total volume of side-by-side bags therein if all were filled to capacity, including a pair of arms holding each bag which are movable apart to widen the associated bag opening and movable together to narrow it.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for compartmentalizing a container, such as for example, a garbage bin, into a plurality of individual compartments. The device has an elongated bar, to the middle portion of which a pair of transverse arms is hingedly attached. Each outermost end of the elongated bar and of the transverse arms carries a telescopically slidingly engaged extension member to allow adapting the device to different sizes of the containers. Each extension member carries a flexible resilient clip which allows suspension of the device from a rim of the container.

Abstract: A frame is disclosed herein for maintaining the entrance leading into the interior of a bag fully open which has an elongated linear base with a curved member carried between its opposite ends. The ends of both the base and member are joined by an elbow fitting while the member is divided into two portions selectively joined at opposing ends by a friction clamp or the like. The frame is inserted into the mouth of a trash bag and the curved member secured to provide a rigid frame separating the edge marginal region of the bag wall defining the entrance.

Abstract: A self-closing bag holder has first and second resilient clamp plates which are connected by hinges on opposite ends to permit the clamp plates to bend outwardly with respect to each other. The hinged clamp plate assembly provides an expandable collar for supporting a plastic bag in an upright orientation. The sidewall of the plastic bag is fitted through the collar and is folded about the clamp plates in an open mouth configuration. The bag sidewall is secured to the bag holder by spikes formed on opposite ends of the clamp plates, and also by the interlocking union of a mounting bracket and handle assembly. Self-closure is provided by the resilient clamp plates which retract into engagement with each other upon release.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for partially automating the placement of litter bags in animal litter pans. The apparatus uses two pivoted arms over the tops of which the upper portion of a litter bag may be folded when the arms are extended upwardly. The arms are then pivoted downwardly to spread out the litter bag either in a litter pan or upon the base upon which the pivoted arms, which operate in a scissors action, are pivoted. Thus the apparatus also provides a means for complete elimination of an animal litter pan. Litter may be placed within the litter bag either before it is folded over the pivot arms or after. When the litter arrangement has been used by the animal to an extent such that it should be replaced, the pivot arms are extended upwardly and the bag is removed and secured at the top after which is can be disposed of in the normal manner.

Abstract: A device for loading bags with material from the ground. The material can be garden trash, industrial waste or industrial material. The bags to be filled can be disposable or reusable. A container 74 with an open top 78 and with legs 88 attached on the inside and sticking out the top 78 of the container 74. A bag is fitted over the legs 88 and around the top 78 of the container 74, such that the bag is exterior to the container 74. The container 74 has opening in its sides so that when the container 74 is laid with one side 80 on the ground material can be raked or otherwise moved through the side openings into the container 74. A full container 74 is then tilted up on its legs 88 and the material slides into the bag. The device can also be used as a standard bag lined trash container. A full bag can be removed from the container through the openings in its sides rather than having to lift the full bag up through the top 78.

Abstract: A leaf caddy characterized in a preferred embodiment by a bag support frame fitted with telescoping side frame members for adjusting the dimensions of the frame and a pivoting knuckle which carries a fixed or telescoping support for orienting the frame in a desired position. The frame is designed to receive and mount the mouth of a plastic bag of selected size, wherein the mouth or lip of the bag is attached to the frame by tension in the frame and contact between the bag lip, the pivoting knuckle and the support.

Abstract: This system is a flexible bags mounting and dispensing system which has two equal length mutually parallel articulated arms hingedly mounted together at their front end by a cross member. Each articulated arm consists of three section members hingedly coupled together. A flexible bag can be mounted to the articulated arm through tubes or pipings provided at the edge portion of its opening. The bag can be opened for filling operation by pulling the middle section members of the articulated arms away from each other, and the bag can be kept in a closed condition by pushing the articulated arms back to their parallel condition.

Abstract: A method for quickly and safely hanging a bulk unfilled bag having a plurality of bag loops on the latches of a bag filling machine with traversing latch mechanisms. The rear latch mechanisms are movable forwardly towards the front fixed latches to permit the operator of the machine to easily and safely hang the bag loops on the latches. Thereafter the rear traversing latches are moved to the rear of the machine to open the bag thus allowing it to be filled and later released from the latches.

Abstract: The present invention provides a bag holder to receive a bag looped over the holder. The holder comprises a forward arm, a rearward arm spaced from and connected at one end to the forward arm and a support surface mount. The forward arm has a free end and is clear along its length up to the other end connection with the rearward arm whereby the forward arm provides an extended support surface over which the bag is looped onto the bracket.

Abstract: A support for garbage disposal bags to be mounted in a cupboard and designed as a frame (3) consisting of bars (4 to 7) hingedly interconnected at their ends, the support being intended to carry a garbage disposal bag by its open end and after the mounting on the cupboard or on two sections of the cupboard movable relative to each other to occupy, on one hand, an open position in which the bag is kept open and, on the other hand, a closed position in which the bag is kept flattened at its open end, characterized in that the frame is shaped as a deformable bar-parallelogram comprising four bars, that the bar-parallelogram includes a central bar which at its ends is articulated with two opposite parallelogram bars and which divides the bar-parallelogram into two, mainly equally large openings for the placing of two garbage disposal bags, and that the parallelogram-bars and the central bar are shaped so in relation to each other that the parallelogram-bars and the central bar in the closed position of the frame

Abstract: A waste disposal comprises (1) a bag part made of flexible material which has a closed lower end and an open upper end, (2) a bag collar made of relatively stiff material which is firmly attached to the upper end of the bag part, and (3) a lid which is adapted to be placed on the bag collar to close and seal the bag. The circumference of the bag collar is fitted with support elements for the lid so that the lid can be easily removed or can be inserted into or placed on the bag collar. Catch elements are provided below the support elements and function together with compatible elements on the lid to tightly secure the lid to the bag collar. The lid is fitted with at least one handle for carrying the bin.

Abstract: The present invention is a bag holder for plastic trash bags for use outdoors, such as lawns, gardens, and the like. A standard is provided with a pointed lower end, and a foot peg for pushing the end of the standard into the ground. An adjustable clamp assembly is disposed on the standard and may be moved along the standard to a desired point and locked. An elongate flat spring strip of metal or plastic having a length greater than the circumferance of the largest trash bag to be used is attached to the clamp assembly. The spring strip is bent into a circle and the opening of the bag is drawn over the spring strip which is released to hold the bag.

Abstract: A flexible trash bag support apparatus adapted for use with conventional trash bags. The apparatus includes a substantially rigid flat back, two foldably connected side members, and trash bag holding slots which can secure trash bags in the desired position. The back may include an extension rendering it taller than the two side members so as to serve as a backboard for allowing refuse thrown at the bag to be deflected thereinto. Additionally, the surfaces of the back and side members may be coated with a conventional; waterproof substance to protect them from damage and increase the life span of the apparatus. The apparatus as thus described is a safe and efficient method of supporting trash bags, and is novel in its method and apparatus for achieving this result.

Abstract: A system is provided for automatic consecutive opening and dispensing thermoplastic grocery or retail product bags of the T-shirt type while providing for supporting consecutive bags in an open position and for facilitating easy removal of the consecutive loaded bags. The system includes a pack of bags and a rack of the type having outwardly extending support arms and a retaining means for receiving the bag pack by mounting the bag handles on the support arms of the rack through apertures therein and mounting a detachable bag mounting tab on the rack retaining means. Each of the bags has disengageable adhesive between each bag which has a predetermined severance strength greater than the severance strength of the mounting tabs. The rack support arms define a predetermined resistive force in laterally-extending outer portions against sliding of the bags therealong which is greater than the severance strength of the adhesive.

Abstract: A container for support along a vertical surface, and comprising front and back walls, side walls, and a bottom wall, all made of a flexible plastic. The container has an open top end for the insertion and removal of goods to be displayed. The container also includes an upper rim providing support for and along the upper ends of the front, back, and side walls. A bottom rod has a pair of spaced apart ends, and circumscribes one or more of the back and side walls.

Abstract: A trashbag holder for holding open the mouth of a trashbag to facilitate filling with trash being a generally triangular frame in which one side is a rectangular panel and the other sides are two resilient rods joined together at two ends and whose other ends join opposite ends of the panel. The triangular frame is inserted into the mouth of the bag to maintain the mouth open. A gripper/connector acting with force from the resilient rods secures the lip of the bag to the frame. The holder and bag may be laid on the ground in order to rake debris into the bag or hung from a spike in a wall or post for loading in the vertical position.

Abstract: A trash recycling apparatus that includes a series of individual trash bags suspended from a racks structure in a row configuration. Exposed side wall areas of the bags have special trash identifier markings that enable a person standing in front of the rack structure to select the appropriate bag for each trash item. The identifier markings are written at an angle to permit the use of relatively large size lettering. Also the markings are repeated at vertically spaced points along the bag length to ensure readability of the markings.

Abstract: A clothes container having two external clothes bags at its opposite ends. Soiled clothing of different colors or materials can be selectively placed in the container and the two bags to sort out the clothes prior to placement in a washing machine. The bags augment the capacity of the container. When desired the bags can be adjusted to closed positions in near proximity to the container end walls.

Abstract: A device for securing a plastic bag with handles in a container comprising a vertical row of fastening devices located on an external side of the container. The devices fasten one handle of the plastic bag to the side of the container such that the mouth of the bag is pulled tight against the opposite side of the container and thus held in place around the rim of the container.

Abstract: A device for holding an assembly of T-shirt type bags on a mounting surface, each bag having two shoulders, collar and an attachment opening. The device has a shoulder supporting bar having a first subsection over which the first of the shoulders may be draped and a second subsection over which the second of the shoulders may be draped, a bag separating member provided between the first and second subsections and having an upper region over which the attachment openings may be placed to support the bags and a forward facing lower region contacting and forcing forward the collar, and means for mounting the device on the mounting surface.

Abstract: An apparatus wherein a container includes an annular skirt defining a channel between an upper terminal end of an associated container and the skirt, wherein mounted plug members are positioned for insertion into the skirt to arrest an upper terminal end portion of a flexible bag liner. Side walls of the container include removable plugs to prevent trapped air between the liner and an interior wall of the container. Modifications of the invention include a magazine storage cavity positioned underlying an upper floor of the container, with a magazine container within for selective removal of liners therefrom for securement to an interior surface of the associated container.

Abstract: A bag holder for use with a bag having at least one hand grip, which comprises an elongated body having a first end, a mid-portion and a second end with a tongue positioned at the mid-portion of the body for securing the bag holder to a nail body or the like, a cabinet door handle, an edge of a door/drawer, a side of a door, a shelf edge or the like, to securely hold a bag while maintaining the bag in an open position in order to permit easy access to the interior of the bag for placement of objects into the bag. A first and a second bag grip receiving means are positioned at the first and the second end, respectively, of the elongated body to securely and supportingly receiving the hand grip of a bag thereby supporting the bag and any objects therein.

Abstract: A device holds the mouth of a bag open and may hold the bag against a vertical surface or to a pole. The device comprises an elongate belt which is formed into an annular member by use of sleeves which are attached to the ends of the belt and enable the belt to overlap onto itself. The diameter of the device or annular member is variable. A bag mouth is pulled up through the center of the annular member and the bag's mouth circumference is wrapped over the annular member circumference. The annular member diameter is then increased and the bag clings to the member. The annular member with bag fitted thereon can be held to a vertical surface by a spring clip or to a pole by a spring clip which may be adjusted up or down the pole, the pole being partially pushed into the ground or other stable surface.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for holding at least one bag in an inverted position to allow the bag to be sprayed with water for cleaning and then air dried. A support base, resting on a flat surface, has a top face with a plurality of engagement slots therein. At least one frame is included, each frame having two arms, each arm being segmented into two portions pivotally joined at their ends. The support base has two clips to hold at least one frame for compact storage and portability. The ends of each arm are adapted for engagement into said engagement slots. One portion of each arm is pivotally joined to the like portion of the other arm to allow the joined portions to move in scissor-like motion. The distal ends of each arm are adjusted so that the distance between the distal ends is approximately equal to the inside dimension of the bag, the bag being placed in an inverted position over the arms.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for maintaining the mouth of a bag in an open position. The apparatus includes a base which is sized to be received within the bag and a pair of spaced apart support arms secured to the base. Each of the support arms include two rigid portions connected by a resilient member.

Abstract: A waste disposed bag comprises (1) a bag part made of flexible material which has a closed lower end and an open upper end, (2) a bag collar made of relatively stiff material which firmly attached the upper end of the bag part, and (3) a lid which is adapted to be placed on the bag collar to close and seal the bag. The circumference of the bag collar is fitted with support elements for the lid so that the lid can be easily removed or can be inserted into or placed on the bag collar. Catch elements are provided below the support elements and function together with compatible elements on the lid to tightly secure the lid to the bag collar. The lid is fitted with at least one handle for carrying the bin.

Abstract: A mobile leaf bag loading fixture (10) is provided which includes an elongated back (12), forwardly extending bottom (14), and bag-supporting hoop (18). The fixture (10) is equipped with strategically located wheels (76, 78) permitting the fixture (10) to be placed directly upon a support surface (96) with the wheels being rendered inoperative, so as to facilitate bag loading. When loading operations are completed, the fixture (10) may be raised and wheeled away. Preferably, the hoop (18) consists of interfitted, adjustable sections (82, 84) permitting alteration of the effective size of the hoop (18). In addition the hoop (18) is advantageously oriented at an acute angle relative to back (12), to further ease loading operations.

Abstract: The trash bag holder disclosed herein comprises a collapsible frame which is inserted preferably in its collapsed condition into the trash bag and is then opened to provide supports for the sides of the bag while trash is swept into the bag while it is laid horizontally on the ground. This holder has a flap at the front of the frame which facilitates the sweeping of trash into the bag. Where desired an additional support may be provided to hold the top side of the bag when it is laid on the ground. When the bag is filled, the frame is easily withdrawn from the bags.

Abstract: A fixed or removable inner ring device for supporting a flexible bag liner inside a trash receptacle is configured in such a manner as to provide air gaps or vent spaces between the inner ring and the inside of the trash container, thereby enabling release of trapped air upon insertion of a flexible bag liner into the trash container. Additionally, the ring device permits the use of different sized of liner bags and provides for a neat appearance by eliminating unsightly overhang of the liner top outside the trash container.

Abstract: An apparatus for holding a bag open, and preferably upright, includes a support from which a plurality of legs extend in an outwardly flaring direction. The outwardly flaring legs bias the bag to open to its widest, and they support the bag along its length. A related method is also disclosed.

Abstract: An improved bag holder formed of wire is disclosed. The holder is particularly useful for holding bags with handles and particularly useful when the bag is used as a garbage bag. The invention takes advantage of the flexure and resiliency characteristics of wire. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a neck is provided on which to store unused bags. In a further embodiment of the invention, a unique manner is provided for keeping the held bag closed in order to reduce the emission of unwanted odors.

Abstract: A bag filling machine with traversing latch mechanisms. The rear latch mechanisms are movable forwardly towards the front fixed latches to permit the operator of the machine to easily and safely hang the bag loops on the four latches. Thereafter the rear traversing latches are moved to the rear of the machine to open the bag thus allowing it to be filled and later released from the bag latches.

Abstract: A garbage bag holder is provided that has a strengthened support and interchangeable attachments for attaching the holder to various surfaces, including stadium seats. A ring, elongated in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the ring, is provided to hold the garbage bag. A plate is attached to the ring using a reinforced arm, and the plate is designed to fit inside a bracket the bracket being attachable to the surface on which the holder is to be fixed. Various constructions to the bracket permit it to be attached to a fence, a uniform vertical surface, a horizontal surface, and the arm of a stadium seat. An alternative embodiment shows a hand held bag holder. A system is also provided for cleaning sport stadiums which includes the bag holder and a tray for receiving garbage from steps.

Abstract: A support rack used for holding plastic bags used for receiving and retaining household refuse is disclosed. Such a rack comprises a frame, preferably of an open nature, and a pair of arms connected to the frame near the top. The arms are used to each support one handle of a plastic bag and are spaced apart relative to one another such that the plastic bag is held open. The frame is preferably open at one side thus allowing for easy depositing and removal of plastic bags. One of the handles is adapted to neatly store an inventory of plastic bags thereon, thus keeping the inventoried bags readily acessible. The inventoried bags are held neatly and out of the way by a spring biased arm.

Abstract: A foldable wire holder for a plastic bag is disclosed to hold the bag in a vertical position with its mouth snagged in a fully open position on a wire framework formed by a horizontally disposed bag holding frame and an upper portion of an upright supporting framework for the bag holding frame. The wire holder is portable and, in one embodiment, may simply be thrust into the ground where it is to be used, for example, to collect leaves, grass clippings, or other discrete matter. The legs of the supporting frame are provided with stub ends and a lateral support member which sets their depth and keeps the bag holding frame in a horizontal plane while the bag is filled. In another embodiment, a foldable base is provided which is a mirror image of the bag holding frame. Angulation of pivot means on the supporting frame, or of the ends of the bag holding frame, is essential to position the bag holding frame in the horizontal position.

Abstract: A hoop, in collapsed configuration fitting readily into the mouth of a plastic trash bag, is formed from a synthetic resionous material and is peripherally expandable from its collapsed form to fit tightly against the inner surface of the bag and hold the bag securely in place with the mouth open. The hoop has provision for either free-standing use with the bag mouth in the vertical position, when trash may be swept directly into the opening, or mounting on a vertical support with the bag mouth in the horizontal position for use as a trash receptacle. A pan attached by a flexible integral connection to the hoop serves both as a threshold when sweeping trash into the bag, and as a lid when the bag is used as a trash receptacle. The flexible integral interconnection of the hoop and pan also permits compact storage and transportation of the holder in assembled form, and even greater space savings when stored or shipped in "blank" form as one flat integral unit.

Abstract: A bag holder support system for disposable, loop handled plastic bags provides dual position mounting so that the system can be easily installed in one position to fit in restricted areas and installed in a different position to provide a maximum opening for the bag when installed in an unrestricted area. The support system includes a pair of brackets that hold the plastic bag open by its oppositely disposed integral handle loops so that the bag may be loaded. The brackets are made of a closed wire loop that forms a planar arm having an upwardly extending U-shaped lug in the center of a horizontally extending member for engaging one of said handle loops. Means are provided for mounting each arm to a vertical surface by a vertical side of the arm that the arm extends in a horizontal direction and lies in a vertical plane.

Abstract: A collapsible frame supports a leaf bag in such a position that a portion of the bag rests horizontally on the ground and the remainder of the bag is so attached to the frame so as to present a large arch-shaped opening to facilitate the collection of leaves, grass trimmings and other garden and lawn debris. The arch is formed by an overhead, resilient rod member inserted through an overhead receiving hem or fabric tunnel in or adjacent the perimeter of entrance to the bag. A pair of elongated rigid stabilizing feet are placed along the ground within the entrance to the bag. The ends of the overhead rod member are then inserted in an upwardly facing support cavity on each stabilizing foot. The overhead member forms an arcuate hoop or arch which supports the opening of the bag in a generally upright plane, with the remainder of the bag extending horizontally and parallel to the stabilizing feet.

Abstract: A device for holding refuse bags in an open position, the device including a handle and footpad. The handle provides a "dustpan" feature which permits the device to be easily moved about the yard area. The footpad steadies the device while refuse is being inserted into the bag. The device may also be suspended by the handle to resemble a garbage can.

Abstract: A debris collection device detachably mounted on the handle structure of a lawnmower. The person operating the mower can place in the collection device any cans, sticks, papers, etc. that he encounters while mowing the lawn. The collection device preferably includes an annular bag- suspension frame having a resilient clip structure extending along one of its edges. The clip structure can be manually snapped onto (or off of) a tubular arm structure that forms part of the handle of a conventional lawnmower.

Abstract: A bag holder has a base to be attached to a vertical surface and has two hinged arms to be latched perpendicular to the base in useful positions for holding an open bag. Nestable spaces for the arms are provided within the surface of the base, and hinges connecting the arms to the base permit the arms to be turned from the nestable spaces to the useful positions. The upper edge of each arm is contoured to provide an intermediate upright portion about which a loop, or handle, of a bag is suspended. The arms are biased to be urged to the nestable positions, and latching means between the base and the arms retain the arms in the useful positions.

Abstract: A rack for supporting a flexible collection bag in an open configuration includes a channel-like stake having a lower spiked end, a receiving slot adjacent to an upper end, and a bag support ring positioned within the receiving slot and supported by the stake. The bag support ring comprises a generally triangular, closed segment of bent wire having an integral U-shaped support anchor which is offset from the primary plane of the support ring. This U-shaped support anchor is positioned within the channel of the stake and engages an inner surface to fix the bag support ring at an angle of approximately 60 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the stake. A cap is slidably positioned over the upper end of the stake, and a lid is clipped to a portion of the bag support ring. The lid is pivotable with respect to the bag support ring and includes a basket for holding a deodorant cake.
