Abstract: A method for manufacturing a bag for use in vacuum packaging comprises forming a first panel including a tray for retaining contents within the bag and a second panel. Optionally, the tray can include a plurality of ridges or protuberances for suspending contents such that liquid can collect in the tray. Each panel comprises a gas-impermeable base layer and a heat-sealable inner layer molded from melt-extruded resin. The first panel is overlapped with the second panel, and three of four edges of the panels are heated such that the inner layers bond at the heated edges. This description is not intended to be a complete description of, or limit the scope of, the invention. Other features, aspects, and objects of the invention can be obtained from a review of the specification, the figures, and the claims.

Abstract: The invention relates to the production of composite insulators consisting of a shank in the form of a bar or a tube, which is provided with a covering and which comprises plate-like screens which are distanced from each other. The covering and the screens are made of an elastomer material with high insulating qualities. As a result, the number, distance, form and size of the screens can vary from insulator to insulator. According to the invention, at least one injection mould (10a, 10b, 11a, 11b, 12a, 12b, 13a, 13b) for injecting a screen (2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 20, 21, 22) is arranged downstream from a device which is used to provide the shank (1) with a covering. The injection mould can be advanced in order to inject a screen upon the shank and opened in order to unmould said screen. An advancing device is also provided in order to displace (16) the shank (1) or the screen mould.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a touch-and-close fastener element (18) comprising a multitude of hook means (16), which are provided with a support (26) as one piece. In order to form said support (26), a plastic material in a free-flowing state is fed to a gap (22) located between a pressing device (24) and a shaping device (10) that is provided with cavities (14) for shaping the respective hook means (16). A support (26) having a small thickness can be obtained and/or the removal of the support (26) from the shaping device (10) is facilitated by feeding the plastic material together with the supporting part (32) into the gap (22), whereby the supporting part bears the support (26) between the pressing device (24) and the plastic material.

The coating is present in an amount and is of a composition such that upon application of heat and pressure the coating may be melt bonded to a second surface material thereby establishing a bond between the base textile and the second surface material. In addition, the concentration and composition of the coating are such that scrap portions of the base textile including the coating may be directly reprocessed by shredding and melting to yield a fiber grade material suitable for fiber formation and reprocessing back into a suitable base textile.

The consolidation of the commingled fibers into composite reinforcement can be used in a continuous form or bulk molding compound pellets. The consolidation of the commingled fibers into composite reinforcement can be made in-situ during in-line extrusion of the final end product extrudate, or prepared as a tape or rod and incorporated into an off-line extrusion of final product. The bulk molding pellets are used solely or diluted with an addition of polymeric material for mono or co-extrusion or compression molding.
