The valve leaflets may be attached to the stent so that an attached edge of each leaflet extends along the leaflet-supporting members and is attached to the members by polymer integral with the leaflet overlying the leaflet supporting members and extending into the openings of the leaflet supporting members. The secure attachment resists stress on the leaflets.

Abstract: A process for the bonding of a fiber-reinforced material to an injection-molding material and an article produced by the process. The process improves the bond between a fiber-reinforced starting material and a material applied by injection. A further plastics material is inserted under pressure into a fiber-reinforced plastics material. This results in interlock bonding between the further plastics material and the fibers of the fiber-reinforced plastics material. This type of bonding is substantially more stable than known bonding.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for positioning and assembly of two or more parts wherein at least one of which is of a creep sensitive material. The method and apparatus enable very precise positioning of parts during assembly by holding a rough alignment with free play permitting finer alignment. Creep resistant annular inserts are molded into the part and provided with flow apertures to conduct plastic material into the annular insert bore. A spindle defined the geometry of a centering hole within the bore during molding. The annular inserts are operable as compression limiters to prevent deformation of the creep sensitive material under the action of heat or tightening stresses.

Abstract: Methods and systems for masking interior surfaces of a part from exposure to a subsequent process. In some embodiments the interior surfaces are threaded. Methods include forming a plugged insert by overmolding a masking plug material into an opening in the insert, the plug being substantially impervious to exposure to a subsequent process. The plugged insert can then be assembled in the part and the part is exposed to the process. Processes can include anodizing, cleaning, machining and laser etch processes. After the process is complete, the plug is removed from the insert, leaving the insert in the part without the plug. The described embodiments describe methods for optimizing masking methods in a production setting. More specifically, embodiments describe methods for automatic insertion and removal of plugs in a part before and after exposure of the part to a process such as anodization.
