When a player has completed all of the spaces on his board, he declares his accomplishment to the other players and one half of the other players must agree with his disc associations in order for the player to be declared the winner.

  • Patent number: 5788238
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards an educational game apparatus which requires the players to unscramble a given set of letters to form a word which matches or defines the given clue. Correct matches by a player translate into moves for the player's pieces around a game board and results in the eventual achievement of the game board objectives. The object of the game is for a player to mark off all the letters, numerals or other appropriate indicia on his/her score card, i.e.: a laminated strip in the shape of a bacon strip, by moving his/her game piece in either direction around the game board. The winner of the game is the first individual or team to completely mark off all the letters, numerals or other appropriate indicia on their score cards.

  • Patent number: 5782471
Abstract: The present invention comprises a board game for teaching basic arithmetic and mathematical operations to small children and others in need of such skills. The game board includes a continuous rectangular peripheral playing path having a series of playing positions therealong, with each of the positions requiring a player to accept or pay out an amount of simulated currency. The goal is for a player to reach a predetermined monetary total, whereupon the player may purchase an imaginary "dream trip" with the accrued money. For very young persons beginning to learn basic addition and subtraction, this first level of the game may be sufficient. However, the present game also provides higher levels, in which players are required to perform some higher mathematical operation using a random number generation device (dice, etc.) to provide the numbers to be manipulated mathematically, before being able to advance along the playing path.

  • Patent number: 5769421
Abstract: The present invention is a word forming game which has a letter selection based on words used commonly in conversation. The word game of the present invention may include: one six-sided die; a game board having four player areas, each area numbered one through six to correspond to the numbers on the die; thirty-one letter tiles imprinted with commonly used letters on both sides of the tile; and a score card. According to a method of playing the game of a preferred embodiment, four players place letter tiles next to each number located in the player areas. By rolls of the die, each player selects four of the letters and attempts to form a word. Each player is given preferably eight rounds in which to form words. At the end of the game, the player may receive a bonus score for forming a sentence from the words formed during the game. Generally, each letter used to form a word counts one point. The scorecard is used to record the letters, words and the points.

  • Patent number: 5740243
Abstract: A method of playing a game that has a puzzle and a conforming device. The puzzle includes ciphertext indicia and a number of designated spaces corresponding with the ciphertext for displaying a developing solution. The ciphertext is a message encrypted according to some substitutional and/or transpositional encipherment scheme. At each stage of solving, the ciphertext and developing solution show what has been correctly solved and what remains to be solved. The conforming device verifies the correctness of correct guesses and corrects incorrect guesses without prejudicing future guesses. There are manifold types of messages, encipherment schemes, developing solutions and conforming devices. Some puzzles and conforming devices are made by a computerized method. The game can be played by one player or several players in competition. It can be played using a game board or other apparatus or by using a computer with an interactive computer program. To solve a puzzle, a puzzle solver first forms a guess-pair.
