Abstract: A portable bullet trap includes a rail which is attachable to a shoot house or other ballistic wall and a trolley which facilitates movement of the bullet trap along the rail. Additionally a bullet trap may include a plurality of pivotable baffles or other structures disposed therein to deflect and partially decelerate a bullet.

Abstract: A paintball target holder includes a frame having plural parts that are movable relative to one another in order to fold the frame and thereby reduce a volume encompassed by the frame. The plural parts include a front part, a back part, and a bottom part. The paintball target holder includes a target mounted to the front part, layers of material mounted between the target and the back part, where the layers of material receive a paintball through the target, and a paintball loader mounted to the bottom part. The paintball loader receives the paintball from the layers of material via the bottom part.

Abstract: In a preferred embodiment the present invention contemplates a system for selectively coupling a shooting target to a target mount device. This system includes a target mount device having a T-shaped mount body. The mount body has three mount holes defined on an underside of the mount body and each mount hole terminates at a solid wall portion provided by an underside of a top surface of the mount body. Three legs selectively attach to the mount body, one leg at each corresponding mount hole. At least one leg includes an adjustment mechanism for extending the length of the leg. A conventional target attaches to the mount device by a mechanism for suspending the target from the mount block coupled to the mount block.

Abstract: A portable archery target support having at least three legs that can be arranged asymmetrically, the legs being dowels or simple tubes; with a non-rigid target suspension feature and stabilizers to prevent the target from swinging or turning excessively after an arrow strike.

Abstract: A free-standing post supported target mechanism has a support post of a defined cross-sectional geometry. A baseplate defines a post opening receiving the support post and has a first orientation permitting movement of the baseplate along the length of the support post and a second orientation establishing a gripping relation with the support post. A spall plate defines a post opening receiving the support post and has a first orientation permitting movement of the spall plate along the length of the support post and a second orientation establishing a gripping relation of the spall plate with the support post. A target plate engages the baseplate and the spall plate and is secured by a locking member. A target base defines a receptacle receiving and supporting the support post and establishes a weight-forward condition that offsets the rearward forces of bullet impact.

Abstract: This invention is directed toward a table game with, optionally, both an “air game” and a “ground game”. This invention relates to the general field of table games, and more specifically to a large table game, similar in size to a ping pong or pool table, playable by one or more people. The theory behind the invention is to combine an “air game” (such as ping pong) with a “ground game” (such as pool) and do so in a flexible format that allows a number of people to participate in the game. The game can be played in an active fashion, similar to Ping-Pong, or as more of a set-up and strategy game, as in pool. A unique paddle-shaped hitting device with a hockey-stick like projection on its bottom portion allows for a player to play both the air game and the ground game using the same hitting device.

Abstract: A target for hanging on a frame has a hanging member having a first elongated arm, a second arm extending from the first arm and a third arm extending from the second arm. The first and third arms are parallel to each other and the second arm is perpendicular to said first and third arms. The third arm is shorter than the first arm. The hanging member has a thickness. A target disk has an elongated slot wherein the hanging member is inserted into the slot. The third arm extends through the slot and the second arm is received within the slot.

Abstract: One embodiment of an articulated target stand having a base consisting of radially symmetrical legs extending out from a central hub wherein said legs are splayed optimally forming a three point stance in the deployed position, or folded vertically about the axis of the central hub when in the collapsed position. Pivotally connected atop the base central hub is a three axis yoke gimbal assembly providing selectively rotatable adjustments about said axes. Pivotally connected atop the yoke gimbal assembly is a further assembly providing the means by which the operator can attach commonly available, expendable type targets and target support members. The articulated target stand formed by this embodiment provides a means by which said target can be positioned about four axis of adjustment with respect to the stand's base on a variety of terrains, for a variety of target presentations and is collapsible to an easy carry configuration.

Abstract: A multiple target electronic dart gaming machine having shared electronic components. According to certain embodiments, the multiple targets are mounted on opposite sides of a game board of a target assembly that is housed in a cabinet of the gaming machine. The gaming machine may be floor-standing or wall mountable. Either affixed above the top of the target assembly, below the bottom of the target assembly, or both, is a visual display video monitor for providing players and observers with game scores and the like. The game board may be axially rotated between at least first and second positions so as to allow game play on the different targets. Additionally, the position of the game board may be detected through the use of a detector on or in the board.

Abstract: A portable projectile trap assembly includes a modular target assembly having a frame configured to retain a plurality of backstop panels. The plurality of backstop panels are removably mounted on a front side of the frame forming a planar backstop, and a front panel of resilient material is removably mounted to and covers the front side of the planar backstop opposite the frame. The front panel is spaced from the planar backstop to form an air gap between the backstop and the front panel. When a projectile is fired at the target assembly, the projectile passes through the front panel and impacts against and is stopped by the backstop. The target assembly is attached to a support mast at the rear side of the frame; the support mast is attached to a mobile base supporting the target assembly in a vertical orientation above the mobile base.

Abstract: The present invention is an adjustable projectile target that includes a support structure that can hold a body portion of the target at various angular positions with regard to the support structure. The support structure allows the body portion to be rotated along both a vertical and a horizontal axis to provide a variety of target profiles for the body portion to simulate for the individual shots taken from various elevations and distances from the target animal.

Abstract: A flying disc toy of a size to be held between a user's bent finger and thumb. Said flying disc toy to be projected through the air when the user rapidly extends the bent finger. The flying disc toy generally has a hollow cavity on the underside between a top wall joined at a joining edge to a descending wall. The flying disc toy may be combined with various accessories such as gloves, targets, and bats to play one or more games.

Abstract: A target training apparatus that fires projectiles at a trainee to simulate combat situations until the trainee strikes predetermined locations on target mounts made of standard paper or cardboard, wherein the predetermined locations correspond with deactivation wands that deactivate the apparatus and ceases firing from the target training apparatus. The apparatus comprises a base, a target column, deactivation wands, a firing column, paintball guns, and a plurality of target elements. The apparatus includes slots to hold compressed air bottles for propelling the paintballs and utility housing for providing power to the trigger system which controls the firing of the two paintball guns. The trigger system rotates a trigger lever in cyclic revolutions which causes the trigger to pull and fire rounds at the trainee.

Abstract: A target stand is disclosed that comprises a target frame supported on a shelf having a pair of legs mounted in spaced relation. The legs pivotal and adjustable between a storage position and a shooting position. The storage position having the target frame intermediate to and parallel to the legs. The shooting position having the legs in a generally non-parallel configuration to support the target frame in a predetermined shooting position. The target frame supporting a target either above or below the pivotal connection between the legs and the target frame. The legs adapted to be secured to the target frame thus resisting pivoting and adjusting to hold the legs in a non-symmetrical orientation to accommodate rough terrain.

Abstract: A target system providing various target arrangements is provided. The varying target arrangements provide different visual presentations to the shooter to increase the shooting experience. Various target arrangements include auto-resetting targets that do not require user input to reset. Further, one target arrangement is an active target that continuously changes its visual presentation to the user.

Abstract: A bullet trap is disclosed which is formed without intervening sidewalls to enable cross-shooting and the like with reduced risk or ricochet or damage to the bullet trap. Furthermore, the bullet trap can be configured in a variety of ways to eliminate the need for facing plates while providing a removable attachment mechanism, to enable repair on the trap, to reduce bullet adhesion to the trap and to provide improved containment of lead and improved access to the trap.

Abstract: A target stand providing improved adjustability is provided. The target stand is suitable for use in reality-based training methods and may advantageously position a target holder in realistic settings for an improved training experience. The target stand has at least one target holder for securing at least one of a target and/or target trap, may be height adjustable, may support the target holder on flat and non-flat surfaces, and may allow for adjustment of the target holder in at least two axes of rotation.

Abstract: A method of practicing aiming of a gun at a moving target includes providing a first simulated target, providing a second simulated target in spaced-apart relationship with respect to the first simulated target, providing a gun, positioning the gun with respect to the first simulated target and the second simulated target and repeatedly aiming the gun at the second simulated target while visually focusing on the first simulated target. The first simulated target represents a position of the moving target upon shooting of shot from the gun. The second simulated target represents a position of the moving target upon striking of the moving target with the shot.

Abstract: A multi-purpose reversible target includes a target body having a first side and a second side, a plurality of target areas printed on the first side of the target body, and a plurality of tabs integral with the target body and on the second side of the target body. A stand includes an elongated body having a top end and an opposite bottom end, the bottom end configured for insertion into ground and at least one holder comprising a first loop and a second operatively connected to the first loop to thereby allow for friction fit of an edge of signage between the first loop and the second loop.

Abstract: A game apparatus and a method using trays as the game board with vertical support columns, two sets of playing pieces and two launching devices. The one or more vertical support columns attach to the one or more trays to support the trays horizontally above a support surface. On the surface of each of the trays is a matrix and each element of the matrix has a recessed compartment orthogonal to the surface of the tray. Each recessed compartment is sized to hold a multiplicity of both types of playing pieces in a stacked manner. The launching devices are used to launch the playing pieces from the launching devices into the recessed compartments on the trays. Games are played with two or more players and the object of the game is for one player to be the first to build a predetermined pattern with the playing pieces in the recessed compartments by launching the playing pieces into the recessed compartments.

Abstract: Target positioning system with a rectangular flat table top member having downwardly disposed side walls and three primary legs to support the table top member. Two primary legs are hingedly attached to the left and right rear corners of the table top member. One primary leg is hingedly attached under the center front portion of the table top member. Each leg has a telescoping secondary leg member that is capable of being affixed to the to the primary leg member to adjust the height of the primary leg member. The table top member left and right side walls include slots for receiving a strap. The strap can be adjusted in length to hold a standard archery target cube. The flat table top member includes upwardly facing flange located at the rear edge of the table top to prevent the target block from being thrust backward during target practice.

The target striking device has visual and audible strike indicating means and the mat has score display means. Additional embodiments are anticipated.

The target attachment facility may have a first position and a second position, such that the target may be suspended from the target attachment facility with the attachment element residing at the first position or the second position. The target attachment facility may have a retention surface operable to retain the target attachment facility in the first position in response to a bullet strike on the target. The retention surface may be in a forward direction from the second attachment position, such that the retention element does not prevent the target attachment element from being dislodged from the attachment facility when residing at the second position in response to a bullet strike on the target from the forward direction.

Abstract: A target stand includes a target stand base and a target holder, together with a target mounted in the holder. The base has a cross member which is adjustably rotatably mounted, and the cross member has an upright member extending therefrom. The holder has a stem portion inserted into an open end of the upright portion of the base. A hand screw is used to secure the stem portion in the upright member. In this manner, the holder can be secured at any rotational angle relative to the upright member. Further, the upright member itself can be moved to any position by rotation of the cross member, which is likewise secured by a hand screw. Further, an uppermost portion of the target stand holder includes block carrying a transverse bar and allowing pivoting of the transverse bar. The transverse bar connects a pair of upright bars, and is frictionally retained against rotation by the block, and can be manually pivoted into a selected position.

The clamping assembly may include a mechanical lever, a winder, a crank, a hydraulic device, or a pneumatic device. The clamping compressing force may be applied from the top, bottom, or sides of the target material. In some configurations, a strap is disposed around the target material and is tightened and loosened to apply and release the compressing force from the target material.

The legs pivotal and adjustable between a storage position and a shooting position. The storage position having the target frame intermediate to and parallel to the legs. Abstract: A firearms marksman target stand comprising a rigid plastic pipe frame connected by plastic joints encompassing a solid foam board backing to hold sheet targets. Said foam board backing is connected to and away from frame sides and at the top and bottom by plastic cable ties forming the framed target mounting area. Two rigid plastic pipe legs are coupled to framed target mounting area by plastic tee joints, already utilized at the bottom corners of framed target area. The target stand is supported in an upright position by two galvanized spikes driven into the ground and fitted properly inside bottom ends of said rigid plastic pipe legs. This target stand is light weight compact and stands freely in an upright position presenting a framed target area to mount many various size targets, and is stored and transported with legs and spikes attached to sides of framed target area.

The tree stand includes a manual drive mechanism for moving the target to and from the hunter.

Two primary legs are hingedly attached to the left and right rear corners of the table top member. One primary leg is hingedly attached under the center front portion of the table top member. Each leg has a telescoping secondary leg member that is capable of being affixed to the to the primary leg member to adjust the height of the primary leg member. The table top member left and right side walls include slots for receiving a strap. The strap can be adjusted in length to hold a standard archery target cube. Abstract: A gravity reset target system that includes a target plate assembly that is removably engaged with a base plate assembly. The base plate assembly includes at least two parallel guide plates having grooves cut therein and the target plate assembly includes a target plate secured to a carrier piece having at least one guide rod. The guide rod of the carrier piece is inserted into the grooves in the guide plates to removably engage the target plate assembly with the base plate assembly. The target plate begins in a vertical resting position, rocks backward to a generally horizontal position when struck with a projectile, and then automatically returns to its vertical resting position.

Abstract: Embodiments of a target-based game and methods of playing the target-based game are herein disclosed. In one embodiment, the target-based game includes a vertically-oriented target platform having a plurality of openings therein. Each opening may be approximately circular in configuration, may vary in size, and may have a backing, or “pocket” to catch one or more game pieces. In one embodiment, the target platform includes one or more suspension means about one or more edges or peripheries thereof for holding the target platform in a vertically-oriented position when attached to a plurality of supporting members. When assembled, the supporting members may form a frame to support the suspension means and/or the target platform. A plurality of game pieces may be used to play a variety of games using the target-based game.

Abstract: The rolling target device includes a base and an upstanding target window frame disposed at one end of the base. The target window frame has an opening for displaying a printed target. The opposite end of the base includes a clamp for holding a roll of paper. A selective printing assembly is disposed in the base and operatively connected to a paper feeding assembly such that discreet portions of the paper web may be printed with a desired target design and fed through the target window to expose the target design at the cutout. The printing assembly includes interchangeable printing stamps of various designs that may be selectively attached to a printing platen. The paper roll may be paper towels or toilet paper. A control means controls feeding and printing of the paper web.

Abstract: Reactive targets and target frames are provided that react to being impacted by a projectile in such a manner as to cause longitudinal movement and/or rotation of the target frame. The movement, in turn, exposes different primary targets and/or a secondary target(s) to the participant. Participants can take either offensive shots against the competitor's targets or defensive shots to protect their targets from being impacted by the competitor.

Abstract: A game apparatus which allows for a target disposed on the top of a pole to be knocked down by a projectile. The game apparatus includes a segmented pole which can be assembled and disassembled easily via coupling mechanisms between each segment. The top segment of the pole includes a top cap where a surface on which targets can be placed, is provided. The bottom segment of the pole is connected to a base which holds the pole up. Alternatively, a stake can be coupled to the bottom segment of the pole to drive the pole into the ground directly. A scoring mechanism along the surface of the poles is provided, as well as a target illuminating device to enhance the visibility of the target. The top cap of the pole can also include illumination such that the game can be played even in low ambient light.

Abstract: The present invention provides a heatable long range metal target capable of providing acoustic feedback to the user on impact and is durable to withstand the repeated vibration stress that occurs during repeated use. In a preferred embodiment, target includes a reactive target body for generating an audible feedback signal on impact by a firearm round (such as a metal gong), a heating element and a fastening structure connectable to the target body for mounting of the heating element to the target body. The target body has a front, impact surface and a rear surface and is constructed of hardened steel for withstanding repeated impact by high velocity rounds on the impact surface without penetration. The heating element heats a target region of the target and the fastening structure connects the heating element to the target body away from the impact surface.

Abstract: An archery target configured to absorb an impact of an associated arrow. The target having a stand having a top side and a bottom side and the bottom side including a support structure for supporting the archery target on an associated surface. The top side including a target rest shaped to receive a portion of an outer perimeter of a cylindrical target portion in shaped engagement. The target portion having a front side and a back side which extend between the outer perimeter and define a target depth and including a central core extending between front and back sides of the target. The core defining a target axis coaxial with the outer perimeter and the target portion further including at least one general planar sheet having side edges defining a sheet width that is generally equal to the target depth and a sheet surface between the side edges.

Abstract: A bag toss game target has an angled landing surface with a target opening that rotates on a base of the game target whereby rotation of the landing surface changes direction of the slope of the landing surface and the target opening location relative to the base. The landing surface is provided by a platform that is raised relative to the target base. The platform is temporarily fixed in rotation to define various set positions and slope directions of the landing surface relative to the target base. The configuration of the present game target provides a bag toss game and game target that emulates the game of golf wherein the platform and target opening represents a golf green and golf hole (collectively, golf green), with the target base representing at least a portion of a golf hole fairway or approach leading to the golf green.

Abstract: A moving target system for defensive training includes an elongated ground-based track defining a track axis, a trolley operable to move along the track, the trolley having a target support facility, a driver operable to move the trolley along the track, and the target facing in a direction angularly offset from perpendicular to the track axis. The target support facility may be operable to fall from a vertical position when the trolley reaches an end of the track. There may be an actuator operably connected to the driver to initiate movement of the trolley when actuated.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to target assemblies and targets with reinforcing features for improved durability. One example of such a target can include a target portion that is configured to be struck by a projectile, and a connector portion configured to movably couple the target portion to a support structure. The target also includes a neck portion extending between the target portion and the connector portion, and a reinforcing portion proximate to the neck portion. The reinforcing portion comprises an integral portion of the target that is at least partially deformed to reinforce or otherwise strengthen the neck portion.

Abstract: An aerodynamic sports toy ball, sports goal system, game utilizing both toy and game, and a method of playing such game (with rule book) between opposing teams divided into team zones and including a goal box at each end through which the ball is to be kicked, thrown, flipping laterally or run by one or the other opposing team or two or more players; and wherein the playing surface of the ball is formed of a multi-pointed star-folding to enable the ball to be thrown, caught, flipped laterally, bounced and kicked within the playing field or court through designated goals at either end of the field or court of play, as well as to provide a surface off of which the ball may be bounced as part of the strategy of play, and complete apparatus for such a game provided in the form of a kit.

Abstract: A portable support or goal assembly includes, among other things, a top frame portion, a base frame portion, two or more post frame members, and a plurality of releasably lockable hinge connectors. The portable support assembly provides support for a user and includes a U-shaped top frame portion configured to be gripped by the user and a U-shaped base frame portion having wheels or low-friction feet to facilitate mobility on a support surface. The goal assembly provides a U-shaped goal opening defined by an aligned top frame portion supported at each end by vertically extending side post members, the latter of which are attached to a U-shaped base frame portion. In one example, the top and base frame portions, the post frame members, and the hinge connectors are reconfigurable between the support assembly, the goal assembly, and a collapsed orientation. Also discussed is a method for assembly reconfiguration.

Abstract: A system that holds clay targets for the purposes of target practice which comprises interchangeable single and double tier target holders for holding clay targets, paper targets, or swinging metal targets is herein disclosed. The target holders are approximately forty-eight (48) inches in length and are connected at each end to a vertical tube which slides over a steel leg post that is subsequently inserted securely into a grade surface. The leg posts are approximately forty-eight (48) inches in height and are provided with a foot peg to aid in the grade surface insertion process. The double tiered target holders are particularly designed for clay pigeon targets and comprise channels lined with self-adhesive felt strips to aid in keeping the clay pigeon targets in position and prevent sliding. The invention is envisioned to be utilized with small caliber handguns and rifles such as BB guns, pellet rifles, .22 caliber rifles, and the like.
