Abstract: An improved electric motor scooter includes: a front frame; a front wheel assembly coupled to the front frame and residing on a surface; a back frame; a back wheel assembly coupled to the back frame and residing on the surface; and a center pivot mechanism coupled to the front frame and the back frame. The center pivot mechanism includes a pivot and a folding axis around which the pivot rotates. The folding axis is not perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the scooter and is tilted from the longitudinal axis at an angle. A rotation of the pivot in a direction folds the scooter vertically from the surface and moves the back wheel assembly toward the front wheel assembly according to the angle. During the folding, the front wheel assembly and the back wheel assembly each remains on the surface as the pivot rotates.

Abstract: A collapsible support frame has a front frame, a rear frame, and a locking mechanism connected to the front and rear frames. The locking mechanism has a lever and a base member. In the locked position, the lever and the base member engage to pull the front and rear frames towards each other. This places tension on the front and rear frames and holds the frame structure in an open or unfolded position for use. In the unlocked position, the lever and the base member separate from each other. This releases the tension placed on the front and rear frames and allows the frame structure to collapse or fold in on itself for storage.

  • Patent number: 7445231
Abstract: A handcart with a foldable handle structure comprises a handle structure formed of a holder segment and a frame pivotally coupled to each other. The lower ends of the frame are pivotally coupled to a block board and a pair of wheels. A pair of position-limiting sleeves wraps the tubes of the holder segment. When the handcart is in use, the position-limiting sleeves are pulled down to wrap the pivotal joints between the holder segment and the frame to confine the handle structure to a straight line. Then, the user can hold the handle and push the handcart forward. When not in use, the position-limiting sleeves are pushed up to reveal the pivotal joints between the holder segment and the frame, and the holder segment can thus be folded down. Thereby, the volume of the handcart can be reduced to facilitate storage or convenience lifting the handcart to carry about.

Two slide sleeves are sleeved respectively and movably on the extension rod portions. Two rod-retaining seats are disposed respectively on the slide sleeves, and engage respectively and automatically retaining grooves in the swing rods so as to prevent the grip member from pivoting upwardly away from the swing rods when the grip member is folded on the swing rods.

  • Patent number: 7278507
Abstract: A collapsible personal transportation vehicle may be compacted and stowed in a mobile home, recreational vehicle, or the like, during periods of non-use and transport. Although the vehicle may be powered with a gasoline or electric power plant, a propane fueled engine is used due to its lighter weight and lack of fumes or leakage problems during transport. The vehicle may accommodate two riders, and achieve speeds of up to 30 miles per hour, or greater. To achieve sufficient collapsibility, the vehicle includes a seat assembly constructed from various pivoting members, whereby, during use, riders are seated above the motor, but during periods of non-use, the seat assembly folds down to fit into a space in front of the engine, with a height no greater than the engine and fuel tank(s). The preferred embodiment accommodates a roof structure as part of the collapsible seat assembly, which may be provided with a canopy and/or rear-view mirror, if so desired.

Abstract: A portable collapsible stand includes first, second, and third support frames, a work surface frame, and a telescoping strut pivotably connected to the first and work surface frames. The second frame projects perpendicularly from a lower portion of the first frame. A first end of the third frame is rotatably connected to an upper portion of the first frame such that the third frame pivots from a first parallel position to a second perpendicular position with respect to the first frame. An upper portion of the work surface frame is rotatably connected to the upper portion of the first frame. In operation, the stand can assume a collapsed position in which the first, third and work surface frames are generally parallel, and an operating position in which the third frame and first frame are perpendicular and the work surface frame and surface supporting the stand are parallel.
