Sliding And Rotary Patents (Class 292/57)
  • Patent number: 4031719
Abstract: A lock-protective device designed to be used with various well known garage-door-locking units wherein the units include a sliding bolt, adapted to be slidably secured to the lock housing of the unit by a padlock, the present lock-protective device comprising a protective plate having a front wall and an integrally formed rear wall which is bent over to form a support keeper that is received over the locking bolt and allows the front wall to cover the padlock. There is included a lock strut positioned between the front and rear wall members, said strut having an aperture therein to correspond to the opening in the existing ear of the lock housing, whereby the padlock arm is received through both openings to prevent removal of the lock-protective device therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4012063
Abstract: An apparatus having a rotatable member is provided with a locking bolt slidably mounted on an access cover pivotally mounted on a housing supporting the rotatable member. The locking bolt is axially displaceable toward a latching mechanism mounted on the housing. The latching mechanism has a latch for securing the bolt in a locked position and a limit switch engageable by a key on the bolt for energizing and de-energizing the power to the rotatable member. An air or fluid operated solenoid means is provided to release the latch but is not actuable when the rotatable member is rotating. A rotary speed sensor is provided to sense the rotary speed of the rotatable member so as to enable the air solenoid to be released when the speed of he rotatable member is zero.

  • Patent number: 3993348
Abstract: A sliding roof assembly for motor vehicles or the like in which the assembly is mounted on the exterior roof portion of a vehicle adjacent an opening in the latter for sliding movement between a forward closed position and the rearwardly open position. The sliding panel member is secured in a latched position in which it is firmly engaged with a resilient seal which prevents the entry of moisture or air through the roof opening. In the unlatched condition of the panel it is supported relative to the seal to minimize friction for facilitating easy sliding movement of the panel.

  • Patent number: 3984135
Abstract: A locking and dead bolt locking device associated with the upper rail or frame portion of a window or door sash slideable in a fixed frame, having a latching arrangement engaging a horizontal rail portion and a dead bolt arrangement engaging the frame and mounted on an upper portion of the sash. The latching arrangement includes a tongue latch portion operable normal to the plane of the window and with the dead bolt being integrally carried thereby. When closed, the tongue portion of the latch engages a striker plate of said rail while the deadbolt is engaged with the frame to prevent opening of said latch. Simultaneously, the sash is secured with respect to the frame thereby providing a dual means for securing the sash in a close position in said frame.

  • Patent number: 3953062
Abstract: A clasp having a rigid backplate with one side projecting outwardly to enclose the latching side of a locking padlock. The other side of the backplate is similarily outwardly turned, and a bolt is slidably and pivotally positioned in aligned holes in the outwardly turned sides. A front plate is welded to the bolt and a bale support member is welded orthogonally to the inside face of the front plate. A matching bale support member is welded to the back plate and when the clasp is closed, the two bale support members are aligned. The bale of the padlock is received in holes in the bale support members. In the locked position, the front plate and the proximate side of the back plate prevents the application of a downward blow on the side of the padlock that includes the latch mechanism. The clearance between the front plate and the proximate side is insufficient for the insertion of a punch or other object for striking a blow against the locking side of the padlock.

  • Patent number: 3933381
Abstract: A blow-molded plastic container base and cover portions formed of double wall construction are hinged together for movement between open and closed positions with respect to one another. A latch assembly is provided for positively locking the cover portion in a closed disposition. The latch assembly includes an elongated bolt means slidably mounted within a trough-shaped groove in the front of the cover portion. The cover and base further include formed portions which matingly engage with one another upon closing of the cover and which include aligned locking apertures. Upon closing of the cover portion, the bolt means may be slid axially into the aforesaid apertures to positively lock the cover and base together. The bolt means further includes a detent means extending radially outward and which may be rotated into a cut-out portion in the trough-shaped groove when the bolt is engaged within the locking apertures.
