Abstract: A slider window assembly for a vehicle includes at least one fixed window panel and a movable window panel that is movable along an upper rail and a lower rail at the at least one fixed window panel between a closed position and an opened position. The upper rail includes a channel, and a filler is disposed in the channel of the upper rail. The filler includes a filler body having opposite side walls, and the filler includes lips established along respective ones of the side walls. The lips are extruded onto and along the filler body. The lips include a compressible and flexible material and provide a dampening and cushioning function at the movable window panel when the movable window panel is disposed in the channel of the upper rail.

Abstract: Systems and methods for control systems for facilitating situational awareness of a vehicle are provided. Sensors located around a stationary vehicle may detect moving objects that pose potentially dangerous situations for the vehicle occupants and for the object. This can cause the doors to lock automatically in order to make the situation safer. Additionally, electromagnetic radiation sensors located around the vehicle may detect the lights and sounds of emergency vehicles. If the electromagnetic data from the electromagnetic radiation sensors match a known pattern of electromagnetic data emitted by emergency vehicles stored in a library an alarm may be sounded through the speakers of the vehicle in order to alert the vehicle occupants of an emergency vehicle in the vicinity.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a removable ballistic resistant windshield for vehicle egress. The windshield includes a ballistic resistant glass panel in a rectangular windshield frame with a perimeter portion configured to fit within a rectangular opening in a vehicle cab. The windshield frame may further include an exterior flange configured to overlay an outside surface of the opening in the vehicle cab, and an interior flange extending from the windshield frame opposite the exterior flange. The exterior and interior flanges define an open channel on a first side of the windshield frame configured to fit around a vertical portion of the opening in the vehicle cab when the windshield is seated in the opening. A spring-loaded latch on the windshield frame is operable from inside the vehicle cab to release a second, opposite side of the windshield frame from the opening in the vehicle cab.
Abstract: Technologies for reducing vehicle door collisions include an in-vehicle compute device configured to determine a proximity between a door of a vehicle and a structure while the door is being opened and activate a door collision avoidance system of the vehicle to slow or restrict the opening of the door in response to a determination that the proximity of the door to the structure is within a proximity threshold. The door collision avoidance system may include one or more electro-magnets, one or more actuators, and/or one or more electro-active polymer devices. The in-vehicle compute device may also control the operation of the door based on a context of the vehicle.
Abstract: A vehicle includes a vehicle computing system (VCS) and a vehicle accessory system that may be a window wiper mechanism, a power lift gate, a door lock mechanism, a convertible mechanism or a sunroof mechanism. The VCS communicates with an activity tracking band worn on a wrist of a vehicle occupant. The activity tracking device detects motion of the wrist of the occupant, and is capable of exchanging that data with the VCS. The VCS generates at least one output signal based on data from the activity tracking device. For example, a controller may activate a window wiper mechanism based on signals indicative of a detected long wiping motion.

The mounting bracket comprises a single piece extruded fender attachment bracket having a first horizontally projecting ear attached to a first surface of the distal end of the structural frame member, a second horizontally projecting ear attached to the distal end of the body panel, and a depending projecting ear extending perpendicularly to and adjacent the first horizontally projecting ear, the depending projecting ear being attached to a second surface of the distal end of the structural frame member. The mounting bracket rigidly attaches the distal end of the body panel to the structural frame member.

Abstract: A side door extension support assembly for a vehicle includes a side door movably mounted on a vehicle body of the vehicle and an extension member mounted to the vehicle body. The side door is longitudinally moveable between a closed position and an open position. The extension member is moveable between a retracted position and an extended position for supporting the side door. Movement of the extension member corresponds to movement of the side door such that the extension member moves to the extended position when the side door is moved from the closed position to the open position, and the extension member moves to the retracted position when the side door is moved from the open position to the closed position.

Abstract: An electromagnetic coupling device electromagnetically connects a door handle side circuit of a door handle with a door main body side circuit of a door main body. This electromagnetic coupling device includes a door handle side coupling unit, a door main body side coupling unit, a door handle side coupling unit, a handle side support unit that supports the door handle, and a connector body that supports the door main body side coupling unit in a vehicle door main body.
