Abstract: A storage unit for use in offices and the like to store items, for example on shelves. There is a fixed part defining an internal space and at least one sliding door that can slide horizontally between open and closed positions. The door has a first section and a second section, of which the first section is substantially upright and the second section extends from an upper portion of the first section at least partially across the fixed part. This arrangement acts as a disincentive to place items on top of the storage unit. The door and parts of the fixed part may be made of perforated sheet metal. An acoustically absorbent material (e.g. a fabric) may be secured to an inwardly facing surface of any part formed from perforated sheet metal. The storage unit can therefore also act as an absorber of unwanted sound.

Abstract: A method and device for opening and closing a door of a drawer-type cooking device, enabling to reduce an operation force by at least causing a drive mechanism not to put a load during an initial period when the door is opened or closed is provided. When a drawer body 2 is driven by a drive mechanism 30 including an electric motor 31 to reach a stroke end such as a fully closed (opened) position, the drive mechanism 30 is reversely driven only for a distance corresponding to a backlash existing in a transmission mechanism 32 (between a pinion 34 and a rack 35) and is stopped. When the drawer body 2 is then manually operated in the direction away from the stroke end, the drawer body 2 can be moved without driving the drive mechanism 30 against the inertia or load only for the distance corresponding to the backlash. As a result, the drawer body can start to be manually moved with a light burden.

Abstract: A drawer unit has a frame and two or more drawers. The frame may be made in a single piece, for example of injection molded plastic. The drawers may also be of a single piece, for example of injection molded plastic. The frame may be open in a vertical region between the top and bottom of the frame, or between an upper and a lower drawer, in a horizontal region including the bottom of the upper drawer. The frame may also be without horizontal members between the fronts of the drawers. The frame and a drawer may each have a part of a drawer slider mechanism integrated into them. The top and bottom of the frame may be sized and configured such that an upper frame bottom may nest into a lower frame top. A slider mechanism may resist lateral deflection of the side of the frame. The fronts of the drawers may slope upwards to the back of the drawer. The front of the frame may include surfaces backing or obscuring from view angled portions of the drawer fronts.

Abstract: The invention relates to a drawer comprising a bottom surface (11), two opposing side walls (12,13) and a top surface (14). The side walls are each provided at the top with a recess (15) that extends over the entire side wall, is open towards the outside of the drawer and is delimited from above by a support body (16). Viewed in the vertical direction, the recesses are a recess distance (x) away from the top surface. Viewed in the horizontal direction, the outsides of the support bodies have an external support body spacing (v). The sidewalls are each provided with a supporting foot (17) that extends along the entire sidewall. Viewed in the vertical direction, the supporting foot extends to a supporting foot depth (y) below the bottom surface. Viewed horizontally, the insides of the supporting feet have an internal supporting foot spacing (w).

  • Patent number: 7270245
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a container comprising a first piece of mesh material and at least one separate second piece of mesh material. The first piece of mesh is bent to form a bottom wall and a first pair of sidewalls. The second piece of material forms a second pair of sidewalls. When the pieces are joined together, a basket portion with an upwardly-extending opening is formed. The basket portion may further include a runner portion that may be a separate rail connected to the basket portion, thus forming a drawer. When the container is used with a drawer system including a frame, the runner portion is slidably received in a pair of frame runners. This allows the drawer to move with respect to the frame between retracted and extended positions. The present invention is also directed to a method for making such containers.
