There is a fixed part defining an internal space and at least one sliding door that can slide horizontally between open and closed positions. The door has a first section and a second section, of which the first section is substantially upright and the second section extends from an upper portion of the first section at least partially across the fixed part. This arrangement acts as a disincentive to place items on top of the storage unit. The door and parts of the fixed part may be made of perforated sheet metal. An acoustically absorbent material (e.g. a fabric) may be secured to an inwardly facing surface of any part formed from perforated sheet metal. The storage unit can therefore also act as an absorber of unwanted sound.

The sample product is adapted to be grasped by the consumer to place the drawer in the open position. A first drawer defines a first compartment and a second drawer defines a second compartment. The second drawer has a portion being spaced a predetermined distance from the first drawer. The predetermined distance is sized such that the second compartment is visible to the consumer and requiring the second drawer to be in the open position for a hand of the consumer to reach into the second compartment.

Abstract: A storage unit for storing a number of items in an elevated space saving and easily accessible manner is provided that includes a cover slidably mounted to a storage container containing a number of storage chambers therein. The cover includes a number of adhesive securing means attached thereto that enable the cover to be fixedly secured to the underside of an elevated support structure, such as a cabinet in a kitchen. The storage container is slidably mounted to the cover such that the container can be moved from a closed position to an open position with regard to the cover in order for an individual to gain access to items contained within the storage container.

When a drawer body 2 is driven by a drive mechanism 30 including an electric motor 31 to reach a stroke end such as a fully closed (opened) position, the drive mechanism 30 is reversely driven only for a distance corresponding to a backlash existing in a transmission mechanism 32 (between a pinion 34 and a rack 35) and is stopped. When the drawer body 2 is then manually operated in the direction away from the stroke end, the drawer body 2 can be moved without driving the drive mechanism 30 against the inertia or load only for the distance corresponding to the backlash. As a result, the drawer body can start to be manually moved with a light burden.

Abstract: A drawer refrigerator has a partitioned cabinet with one or more pull-out drawers. The pull-out drawer(s) can have an adjustable divider fence for dividing the storage space of the drawer. The divider fence can have two dividers each defined by two spaced apart elongated rods that are coupled together at a hub and have end pieces with flat surfaces that abut inside surfaces of the drawer walls. A hand operated screw knob mounted to the hub can be used to lock the position of the divider fence.

One rack can be mounted to the door panel, and one or more follower racks can be extended and retracted by movement of the door panel mounted rack, or by independent manual movement thereof. Two or more racks can be pulled out from the cabinet in a staggered or cascading fashion in which an upper rack extends from the cabinet to a lesser extent than a next lower rack to provide access to the bottles on each rack.
