    Abstract: In a PIN diode drive circuit, a forward voltage is applied to a PIN diode through a first switching element and a reverse voltage is applied to the PIN diode through a second switching element. A limiting unit limits an increase rate of an absolute value of a reverse recovery current to a value smaller than a threshold value, the reverse recovery current flowing through the PIN diode when a voltage applied to the PIN diode changes from a forward voltage to a reverse voltage. The threshold value is less than 1 time and 0.5 times or more of a maximum value of the increase rate when a second peak appears regarding the reverse recovery current.

When the input signal changes its state, the timer starts time-counting according to a counting-value of settling-time; when the debounce signal changes its state, the timer recounts time; and when time-counting is ended and when the value corresponding to the debounce signal is different from the register's value, the register's value is updated by the value corresponding to the debounce signal. In this way, the apparatus can eliminate the system misjudgement problem caused by occurred voltage level errors in the stable state.

    Abstract: A driving circuit for the electromagnetic relay provides a coil of the electromagnetic relay with stepped voltage having a first voltage which is slightly larger than a minimum operating voltage which caused the coil to generate magnetic field capable of closing contacts of the electromagnetic relay and a second voltage higher than the first voltage, in response to a triggering signal to trigger the electromagnetic relay. According to this structure, because the first voltage lower than the second voltage is applied to the coil firstly, the contacts are closed by attracting force of the coil risen gently. As a result, the bouncing of the moving contact can be prevented. In addition, the response time required for the closing of the contacts can be prevented to become long.

The power interruptions are sensed and counted, and a timer measures the first predetermined time frame in which the interruptions in the power occur. A message storage means is provided, in which is stored at least one message to be presented. A controller selects one of the stored messages for presentation, based on the number of interruptions sensed in the power and the first predetermined time frame during which the interruptions occurred, and the message is presented on a display panel. In a preferred embodiment the controller ceases the presentation of the message after a second predetermined time frame, which is most preferably about three seconds.

A relay has a coil connected between the output terminal and vehicle ground, and has a switch that is connected between the common terminal and the ON control terminal of the cruise control. The 555 timer is configured as a latching circuit having an output which toggles in response to operation of the two normally-open switches.
