    Abstract: A power resistor module for electrical circuits has at least one resistor element and at least one housing element. The at least one resistor element is mounted at least section-wise between two electrically insulating, thermally conductive insulation elements in the housing element. The insulation elements at least section-wise abut against the at least one housing element. Methods for producing an electrical power resistor module for an electrical circuit include compressing, at least one resistor element with two electrically insulating, thermally conductive insulation elements. At least one of the two insulation elements is pressed at least section-wise against a housing element. If a wire is used as the resistor element, the use of possible fillers such as magnesium oxide may be waived by providing that the wire abuts at least section-wise against at least one of the two insulation elements during the compression.

    Abstract: An apparatus for heating a pin shaped thermoplastic material is provided including a quartz tube, a heat radiator and a securing mechanism. The quartz tube has tube ends and is helix shaped. The heat radiator is arranged in the quartz tube and includes an electrical resistance wire connected to a power supply. The securing mechanism is a heat resistant element connected to the quartz tube that secures the part to be heated relative to the quartz tube along an axis of the quartz tube and heats the plastic part. The quartz tube and/or the part to be heated are moveable. An apparatus is also provided for heating a number of pin shaped plastic parts simultaneously. In addition, a method for heating one or more pin shaped plastic parts is also provided.

    Abstract: An open coil electric heater comprising a rigid support frame composed of a pair of longitudinally extending, laterally spaced members, with cross members between and secured to the longitudinal members. The cross members carry ceramic insulator members which are detachably connected to the cross members. Each insulator member has an end formed with a slot at an acute angle to the side walls of the insulator member to pass a portion of a convolution of an electrical wire coil. Hook-like projections form a transverse indentation at the base of the slot to detachably hold the portion of the wire om the insulator member. The portion of the wire is secured to the insulator members in an expeditious manner and without the use of tools by twisting the wire portion so that the wire portion is aligned sufficiently with the slot to enable the coil to freely pass into said slot.

A fibrous, inorganic electrical insulation material is wrapped around the center conductor and an electrical resistance heating element surrounds the enwrapped center conductor, the heating element being coaxial with the center conductor and electrically connected thereto with the heating element and the conductor being adapted to be connected to a source of electrical power to energize the heating element. Other electrical insulation material is disposed between the heating element and the sheath to electrically insulate the heating element from the sheath and to provide a conductive heat transfer path between the heating element and the sheath. A method of manufacturing a heater is also disclosed.
