Abstract: A security system for monitoring alarming situations inside of a home security safe and communicating alarm activation is taught which consists of a central processor, that receives input, processes sensed situations, stores information and provides an output alarm. A number of event detecting sensors, an IP surveillance camera and an electric circuit switch provide input into the central processor. Wireless communication and a memory activity log of keypad usage input are also provided. Output from the processor sends information to a central station, having an alarm enunciator and battery backup. Information is sent through a land line, or WIFI/wireless circuit, to a central monitoring station. There are two embodiments differing only in the interconnection between functional elements. A hard wired embodiment for OEM construction and a wireless WIFI embodiment is for aftermarket installation.
Abstract: Systems and methods for shut-down of a photovoltaic system. In one embodiment, a method implemented in a computer system includes: communicating, via a central controller, with a plurality of local management units (LMUs), each of the LMUs coupled to control a respective solar module; receiving, via the central controller, a shut-down signal from a user device (e.g., a hand-held device, a computer, or a wireless switch unit); and in response to receiving the shut-down signal, shutting down operation of the respective solar module for each of the LMUs.

Abstract: Systems and methods for wirelessly detecting area changes are provided. Predetermined thresholds may be stored in memory. Each predetermined threshold is associated with a time of day, calendar day, and/or activity. The sensor may detect a change in the in the targeted area. The detected change is evaluated to determine an applicable threshold. Then it may be determined whether the detected change meets a predetermined threshold. If so, information regarding the change is wirelessly transmitted to an associated controller that controls light in the targeted area. The operation of the light may be controlled based on the wirelessly transmitted information.

Abstract: A system and method selectively reads radio frequency identification (“RFID”) tags within an RFID interrogation zone. A portion of the RFID tags have a first operating range and a portion of the RFID tags have a second operating range that is different from the first operating range. The method for controlling an external device in a receiving apparatus that receives media signals from a transmitting apparatus connected through a wireless network, includes according to an embodiment: receiving information on the external devices connected to the transmitting apparatus from the transmitting apparatus; and displaying the external devices connected to the transmitting apparatus by using the received information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for low energy communication of medical testing information are provided. Low energy communication of medical testing information may include detecting an analyte sample, determining an analyte concentration associated with the detected analyte sample, and transmitting an indication of the analyte concentration to an external device using a low energy wireless communication protocol. Transmitting an indication of the analyte concentration to an external device using a low energy wireless communication protocol may include generating an audio indication of the analyte concentration, packetizing the audio indication, and transmitting the packetized audio indication.

Abstract: An apparatus including a first circuit and a second circuit connected in parallel to the bidirectional communication path, and one of the first and second circuits being an active circuit monitoring a value of the data signal on the bidirectional communication path while the other of the first and second circuits being a passive circuit that is not monitoring the value of the data signal. The active circuit initially starts in a low gain state, but on detection of a transition by transition detection circuitry, it enters a high gain state where the switch circuitry disconnects the transition detection circuitry from the bidirectional communication path, and the drive circuitry is activated in order to drive the data signal on the bidirectional communication path to the opposite value. Once the data signal has been driven to the opposite value, the active circuit and the passive circuits switch states.
