  • Patent number: 10612930
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for defining travel paths in a map region. The method identifies location data collected over a period of time from multiple mobile devices. The method aggregates the location data for each of multiple map areas. The aggregated data for each map area identifies an amount of mobile device traffic passing through the map area over the period of time. The method normalizes the aggregated data for a subset of the multiple map areas based on analysis of the relative amounts of mobile device traffic. The method uses the normalized data to identify paths in the map.

  • Patent number: 10614497
Abstract: Systems, methods, and software products estimate cost of fulfilling an order for non-existing steel parts. A web site interacts with a customer to receive a request for quote containing a single MTO file defining the non-existing steel parts. The single MTO file is processed to generate at least one layout based upon stock information of a raw steel product. The layout defines (a) nesting of the non-existing steel parts on the raw steel product, (b) a cost of cutting the parts from the raw steel product, (c) a used portion of the raw steel product, (d) a waste portion of the raw steel product, and (e) a remaining usable portion of the raw steel product. A quote estimating the cost of fulfilling the order is generated based upon the at least one layout, and the quote is sent to the customer.

Abstract: An approach is provided for regularizing building footprints. The approach, for example, involves designating a vertex of an initial building footprint as an initial vertex of a regularized footprint. The approach also involves generating an edge from the initial vertex to a next vertex of the initial footprint to add to the regularized footprint when that the edge can connect along a taxicab distance. The taxicab distance, for instance, is based on a rectilinear geometry between two points. The approach further involves adding a new vertex to the regularized footprint when the edge cannot connect along the taxicab distance. The edge then connects the initial vertex to the new vertex, and another edge connects the new vertex to the next vertex along the taxicab distance. The approach further involves generating a subsequent new edge or vertex of the regularized footprint for each subsequent next vertex of the initial footprint.

  • Patent number: 10430736
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for dynamically estimating an origin-destination matrix. An origin-destination matrix is initialized with a set of origin stops and destination stops. Validation sequences are acquired for a set of travelers on a transportation system which include a plurality of the origin stops and respective timestamps. Corresponding destination stops may be known or inferred. For each validation sequence, a set of subsequences is generated, each including a respective one of the origin stops and the associated timestamp. Subsequences which, in combination, constitute a valid transfer trip are identified. For a combination of subsequences constituting a valid transfer trip, the method includes determining whether the valid transfer trip is a multi-goal trip for which there is least a first destination stop with an intermediate goal and a second destination stop with a final goal. The origin-destination matrix is updated, based on the determination.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system (1) for transmitting location dependent data. The system comprises multiple antennas (3), a transmitter (5) coupled to the multiple antennas (3) and a processor (7). The processor (7) is configured to determine multiple location dependent parts of the location dependent data, each of the multiple location dependent parts corresponding to a different geographical region (8a-g, 25), and to use the transmitter (5) to transmit at least two of the multiple location dependent parts to a different target location (9a-g, 23) over the multiple antennas (3). Each of the at least two location dependent parts is associated with a different reference location (9a-g, 21) and the distance between a target location (9a-g, 23) and a reference location (9a-g, 21) associated with a location dependent part transmitted to the target location (9a-g, 23) is smaller than a predetermined threshold. The invention further relates to a device (17) for receiving location dependent data.
