Abstract: Color calibration for digital pathology is provided. A standard glass slide is prepared with a specimen having zero or more stains. The specimen is scanned a first time using a hyperspectral imaging system to produce a first digital image having XYZ color values. The specimen is scanned a second time using a digital pathology imaging system to produce a second digital image having RGB color values. The first and second digital images are then registered against each other to align the digital image data. Individual pixels of the first and second images may be combined in the registration process so that the first and second digital images have substantially similar pixel sizes. A lookup table is generated to associate XYZ color values to RGB color values. Once the lookup table has been generated, it can be used to present RGB color on a display using the corresponding XYZ color.

  • Patent number: 10405010
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are provided for enabling client-controlled adjustments in the Field-of-View (FOV) of streaming video content principally through changes in server encoding parameters. In various embodiments the method includes the step or process of receiving, at a client media receiver, an encoded video stream transmitted from a streaming media server over a communications network. The encoded video stream is processed, at the client media receiver, to generate a video output signal for presentation on a display device associated with the client media receiver. The client media receiver monitors for user input modifying a FOV of the video output signal. When receiving user input modifying the FOV of the video output signal, the client media receiver then transmits a FOV modification command to the streaming media server to modify a FOV of the encoded video stream in accordance with the user input.

  • Patent number: 10397582
Abstract: An association circuit determines whether a first pixel in an image will be associated with an entry in a palette, based on a threshold for a difference between a pixel value and a palette value. An addition circuit adds an entry to the palette when the first pixel is not associated with an entry. A fusion circuit fuses two entries so as to generate a fused entry when a condition of a target amount of information is not satisfied by adding an entry. A control circuit changes the threshold when the first pixel is associated with an entry, when an entry is added, or when the fused entry is generated and an entry is added. The association circuit determines whether a second pixel in the image will be associated with an entry, based on the changed threshold. A palette encoding circuit encodes the image by using the palette.

Abstract: A pixel pre-processing comprises obtaining an original linear luminance component value of a pixel in a picture in a third color space determined based on a linear color of the pixel in a first color space. A non-linear luma component value in a second color space is derived for the pixel based on a first non-linear chroma component value in the second color space, a second non-linear chroma component value in the second color space and the original linear luminance component value in the third color space. The pre-processing reduces luminance artifacts that otherwise may occur when chroma subsampling is used in combination with a non-linear transfer function.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including an apparatus for determining pixel coordinates for image transformation and memory addresses for storing the transformed image data. In some implementations, a system includes a processing unit configured to perform machine learning computations for images using a machine learning model and pixel values for the images, a storage medium configured to store the pixel values for the images, and a memory address computation unit that includes one or more hardware processors. The processor(s) are configured to receive image data for an image and determine that the dimensions of the image do not match the dimensions of the machine learning model. In response, the processor(s) determine pixel coordinates for a transformed version of the input image and, for each of the pixel coordinates, memory address(es), in the storage medium, for storing pixel value(s) that will be used to generate an input to the machine learning model.

  • Patent number: 10134321
Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a driver, a detector, and an acquisition part. The driver drives the display panel based on a video signal. The detector obtains a first detection value by detecting reflective light from reflective media, which occurs when ambient light is irradiated to reflective media, while obtaining a second detection value by detecting reflective light from reflective media, which occurs when the display panel irradiates its display light to reflective media. The driver corrects a drive value for the display panel such that the second detection value approaches the first detection value or such that the chromaticity represented by the second detection value approaches the chromaticity represented by the first detection value, and therefore the acquisition part acquires information concerning the color temperature of ambient light based on the corrected drive value.
