Abstract: Disclosed is a method to derive the absorption coefficient, transparency, and/or the scattering coefficient from the user-specified parameters including roughness, phase function, index of refraction (IOR), and color by performing the simulation once, and storing the results of the simulation in an easy to retrieve representation, such as a lookup table, or an analytic function. To create the analytic function, one or more analytic functions can be fitted to the results of the simulation for the multiple parameters including roughness, phase function, IOR, and color. The lookup table can be combined with the analytic representation. For example, the lookup table can be used to represent the color, roughness, and phase function, while the IOR can be represented by an analytic function. • Patent number: 11131542
Abstract: An imaging unit includes a light source and a pixel array. The light source projects a line of light that is scanned in a first direction across a field of view of the light source. The line of light oriented in a second direction that is substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The pixel array is arranged in at least one row of pixels that extends in a direction that is substantially parallel to the second direction. At least one pixel in a row is capable of generating two-dimensional color information of an object in the field of view based on a first light reflected from the object and is capable of generating three-dimensional (3D) depth information of the object based on the line of light reflecting from the object. The 3D-depth information includes time-of-flight information.

  • Patent number: 11092545
Abstract: The present invention relates to the design, construction, and operation for a diode-turret. Exemplary embodiments comprise several tens of laser diodes to function as a multiple-line radiation source. The invention further describes the construction for a socket-turret; this socket-turret will flexibly fit any numbers (limited only by the number of sockets available) of laser diodes. The invention further describes two radiation coupling-optics for the output from the turret of laser-diodes, one with an integrating sphere and another with a collimating scope. One operation method allows its user to set for any number of diode, functioning one diode at a time, sequentially, hopping from one diode to another, as a single-line radiation source for the spectrometry. Another operation method permits its user to set a group with any number of diodes, functioning several diodes simultaneously at a time, as a multiple-line radiation source for spectrometry.

  • Patent number: 11093730
Abstract: A configuration capable of realizing object authentication with higher accuracy is desired. A measurement system includes a shape measurement unit that performs measurement, a storage unit that stores an entire model for each work piece type, and a recognition processing unit that executes object authentication based on whether or not a three-dimensional shape measured by the shape measurement unit is consistent with any one entire model stored in the storage unit. The entire model for each work piece type is specified by a combination of a plurality of partial models and each of the plurality of partial models is correspondently given a degree of importance. The recognition processing unit determines whether or not the three-dimensional shape is consistent with any one entire model based on degrees of importance corresponding to one or more partial models included in the entire model.

  • Patent number: 11082679
Abstract: According some aspects, a secondary device may display secondary audiovisual content along with playback of a video on a primary device. For example, the secondary device may display an augmented reality application synchronized with the video. Aspects may predetermine a set of frame transition ranges for the video, where each respective frame transition is determined based on frames of the video that are determined to be substantially identical by a frame reference function and frames that are determined to be different. Two frames may be substantially identical even if they are different in the source video. This may be due to shortcomings in the frame reference function, or encoding/compression losses in transmission and playback of the video. Playback may be synchronized based on a first detected frame, but synchronization may be refined upon detecting a frame transition to a second frame that is no longer substantially identical to prior frames.
