  • Publication number: 20140176793
Abstract: A method for encoding a carrier signal in a video signal, the video signal having one or more frames, the frames each having a first field and a second field, the first field and the second field of each frame having a plurality of scan lines, each having a plurality of pixels with an intensity value indicating brightness, the method comprising selectively designating the plurality of scan lines of the first field of the one or more frames as up lines or down lines, calculating an optimum amount of adjustment to the pixels of the up lines and the down lines, and selectively increasing the intensity value of pixels of the up lines and decreasing the intensity value of pixels of the down lines by the optimum amount of adjustment thereby modulating the video signal with a carrier signal and creating a modulated video signal.

  • Patent number: 8032904
Abstract: In an interactive broadcasting system, television programming may be broadcast with interleaved web content information. The progress in broadcasting the web content information over one or more transports and over one or more channels within those transports, may be monitored to provide a time based indication of what content has been broadcast. In one embodiment, markers may be inserted into the data transmission flow and a method may be utilized to associate a handle with a particular marker. A method may be called which obtains the handle and another method may be utilized to invoke the handle to obtain current information about broadcast transmissions. This information may be used within a broadcast encoder or may be provided to a content provider, for example, through a log-in server.

  • Patent number: 7839961
Abstract: The invention aims at providing communication timing changing method and device which are capable of changing timing of communication for setting control parameters used to determine operations of analog devices in the analog devices, respectively, over to another one not impeding any of the operation of the analog devices. An interface decoder decodes a control parameter communication signal outputted from a CPU, converts the resulting signal into control parameters, and preserves the resulting control parameters in a register. Interface encoders perform timing management based on a synchronous signal received from a synchronous signal generating circuit, read out the control parameters to be set in analog devices such as an image sensor driving circuit, a sample and hold circuit, and an ADC from a register, and communicate with the analog devices at good timing during a blanking period to set the control parameters in the analog devices, respectively.

  • Patent number: 7345690
Abstract: A display system for adjusting video parameters of a user-selected area is disclosed. The display system includes a level detector detecting a line pattern included in one of a plurality of image lines representative of a complete image being displayed, and a pattern receiver coupled to the level detector for receiving the detected pattern, where the received pattern includes a position indicator whose ends are vertically aligned with vertical edges of the user-selected area. In addition, the display system further includes a pixel counter coupled to the pattern receiver for measuring a set of horizontal positions of the indicator ends with respect to a reference point, a pattern analyzer calculating a set of horizontal positions of vertical edges of a video control area on the basis of the positions of the indicator ends, and a video preamplifier adjusting at least one of video parameters of the video control area.

  • Patent number: 7076106
Abstract: A coding protocol provides for coding video data that has been organized as video objects. The protocol provides a keyregion to permit coding of a region of data within the video object having common attributes. According to the protocol a keyregion is identified by a keyregion header, which includes a resync marker that uniquely identifies the keyregion header, a keyregion position signal indicating an origin and a size of the keyregion; and data of the common attribute. Data following the keyregion is coded according to the common attribute.
