  • Patent number: 10671305
Abstract: Various systems and methods are disclosed for optimizing data segments used during inline data deduplication, among other features and functionality. In one embodiment, such functionality includes buffering data received from a node, where an offset value is associated with the data and a segment size is associated with the buffer, until the buffer becomes full or a trigger event occurs. In response to determining that the buffer is full or that a trigger event has occurred, determining whether the offset value is an integer multiple of the segment size. If the offset value is not an integer multiple of the segment size, the functionality generates a modified segment, and then determines whether that modified segment is a duplicate of data stored in a deduplicated data store. If the modified segment is not a duplicate, the modified segment is stored in the deduplicated data store.

  • Patent number: 7450134
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for generating images, compressing image data, decompressing image data, and processing the decompressed image data so that it can be used by a rendering circuit of a device, e.g., a set top box, are described. Images are generated in the native format used by the rendering circuit of the device which will ultimately control the display of the image avoiding the need to perform processing associated with converting color component information from one format to another. Uncompressed image data is arranged in a file with color component values being grouped separately from alpha values to facilitate compression by a standard file compression technique. The file is compressed using a conventional file compression operation. The compressed image file is decompressed when needed and the alpha data and color component data is reorganized so that the color component values and alpha value(s) corresponding to individual pixels are grouped together.

  • Patent number: 7440036
Abstract: Even when a user is by the immediate side of a screen of a large screen television receiver such as a plasma TV receiver, the user can view an image displayed on the screen entirely by contracting the image to be displayed, and power consumption of the television receiver can be reduced. When the user choose a contraction mode for displaying the image with contraction, the video signal processor performs pixel skipping of video data corresponding to predetermined pixels to video data of a television signal received by a tuner. The display panel displays a contracted image with an initial contraction ratio at an initial display position on a screen of the display panel with using the processed video data. The contraction ratio and the display position of the contracted image on the screen of the display panel can be varied optionally by operating a wireless remote controller, corresponding to a distance between the user and the screen of the display panel or according to the user's predilection.

Abstract: An apparatus to process image sections and a control method thereof to include an image processing apparatus to divide an image frame into a plurality of image sections, and to transmit the divided image sections at different transmission rates. Additionally, the image processing apparatus receives the image sections at different transmission rates, and generates an image frame based on the received image sections. Accordingly, the image frame is divided into the plurality of image sections and the transmission rates may be different for each image section, and thus it is possible to transmit the image in real time. In addition, the image section is transmitted to reduce the transmission size, and therefore the compression ratio of the specific image section can be lowered to play back the high-resolution image.
