Abstract: A LCD panel including an active device array substrate, an opposite substrate, a liquid crystal layer, a conductive sealant and restraining elements is provided. The active device array substrate includes common lines, transfer pads and a dielectric layer. The dielectric layer has openings exposing the transfer pads. The opposite substrate has a common electrode. The liquid crystal layer and the conductive sealant are disposed between the active device array substrate and the opposite substrate. The conductive sealant surrounds the liquid crystal layer. The openings are corresponding to corners of the conductive sealant. The conductive sealant fills the openings and the common electrode is electrically connected to the transfer pads through the conductive sealant. Further, the restraining elements are between the active device array substrate and the opposite substrate and are distributed around the corners of the conductive sealant such that the conductive sealant is forced to fill into the openings.

Abstract: In a three-dimensional display device using a liquid crystal lens, a planer electrode is formed on an upper substrate of the liquid crystal lens and strip-like electrodes are formed on a lower substrate of the liquid crystal display lens. The distance between the upper and lower substrates is provided by a bead. At this time, if the bead is present on the strip-like electrode, the lens formed thereon is distorted. In order to prevent this, a bump is formed to cover the strip-like electrode. The distance between the bump and the upper substrate is small, so that the bead is pushed out of the upper part of the strip-like electrode, preventing the lens from being distorted. As a result, it is possible to prevent the crosstalk caused by the lens distortion due to the presence of the bead on the strip-like electrode.

Abstract: Columnar spacers are formed on a TFT substrate where a TFT circuit layer is formed. The TFT circuit layer has a TFT and a pixel electrode. A spacing between the TFT substrate and a counter substrate having a color filter, a black matrix, and an overcoat film is controlled by columnar spacers. The columnar spacers are inserted into an overcoat film formed on the counter substrate. Thus, the counter substrate and the TFT substrate are protruded inward. The substrates protruded inward are unlikely to be deformed. When an external pressure is applied or the front window or the like is bonded to the liquid crystal display panel with resin, the counter substrate is unlikely to be deformed by a stress applied by shrinkage on resin curing. Moreover, the number of columnar spacers can be properly set, thereby preventing the occurrence of low-temperature air bubbles.

Abstract: In a liquid crystal display device using a cylindrical spacer to define the gap between a TFT substrate and a counter substrate, the TFT substrate does not include an organic passivation film, in which the cylindrical spacer is formed on an inorganic passivation film. An overcoat film is formed to cover a black matrix and color filters in the counter substrate. A concavo-convex mount is formed in the overcoat film. The top of the cylindrical spacer is brought into contact with the concavo-convex mount. The oriented film is not attached to the top of the cylindrical spacer and the convex portion of the concavo-convex mount. Thus, even if horizontal displacement occurs in the TFT substrate or the counter substrate, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of bright spots due to the scraping of the oriented film caused by the friction between the TFT substrate and the counter substrate.
