Abstract: A method implemented by a source router reduces the number of SPF computations needed to compute TI-LFA backup paths. Rather than naively perform a backup path computation for all destinations, the source router identifies those destinations affected by that link or node failure and performs backup path computations only for the affected destinations. For the remaining destinations (i.e., those for which a backup path is required), the backup path computations are performed in a breath-first order relative to a subtree rooted at the node incident to the failed link (in the case of a link failure) or at the protected node (in the case of a node failure). The breath-first order further reduces the number of computations required by taking advantage of earlier backup path computations.

Abstract: According to certain non-limiting embodiments disclosed herein, the functionality of a distributed computing platform, such as a content delivery network with network storage, is improved by providing automated and on-demand upload capability into the network storage. In one embodiment, the platform is made up of many proxy servers. As clients request content from the proxies, they generate upload commands for the network storage subsystem to ingest the content from a content provider origin infrastructure. Preferably, the proxy servers are configured to generate ‘safe’ upload commands such that objects are not ingested if they contain sensitive information and/or are personalized and/or might be dynamically generated objects. Thus, relatively safe ‘static’ objects can be automatically uploaded and migrated from a content provider origin, as client requests arrive.

Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a transmission device, a relay device, and a reception device and is configured to execute direct communication of directly transmitting a wireless signal from the transmission device to the reception device without routing through the relay device and indirect communication of indirectly transmitting a wireless signal from the transmission device to the reception device through the relay device. The wireless communication system includes a controller configured to estimate a disconnection continuation time that is a time during which the direct communication is not executable in a case where the direct communication is not executable while the direct communication is repeatedly executed, continue to execute the direct communication when the disconnection continuation time is shorter than a threshold time, and execute the indirect communication when the disconnection continuation time is longer than the threshold time.

Abstract: Embodiments are described for systems and methods that facilitate control of virtual endpoint failover/failback operations in a SCSI target network environment. During failover, SCSI target virtual endpoints failover to a secondary SCSI target port when the primary port fails, and failback to the primary port when the primary port is corrected. Embodiments include a method of efficiently controlling failover and failback operations of virtual endpoints where such operations may have different operating characteristics and be asynchronously initiated, and a method of globally or selectively cancelling failover and failback operations based on multiple system and operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 9813284
Abstract: A content delivery network (CDN) typically includes a mapping system for directing requests to CDN servers. One or more peer machines become associated with the CDN, and the CDN mapping system is then used to enable a given peer to locate another peer in the P2P network, and/or a CDN server. Using this hybrid approach, CDN customer content may be delivered from the CDN edge network, from the P2P network, or from both networks. In one embodiment, customer content is uploaded to the CDN and stored in the edge network, or in a storage network associated therewith. The CDN edge network is then used to prime the P2P network, which may be used to take over some of the content delivery requirements for the customer content. The decision of whether to use edge network or peer network resources for delivery may be based on load and traffic conditions.

Abstract: In some examples, a controller for a network includes a path computation module that determines, for a plurality of LSPs or other flows having a common source, shortest paths of the network from the common source to respective destinations of the plurality of LSPs based at least on a minimum bandwidth. The path computation module further determines, after determining the shortest paths, a shortest path for the LSP of the plurality of LSPs as the shortest path of the shortest paths of the network from the common source to a destination for the LSP. A path provisioning module of the controller, after the path computation module determines the shortest path for the LSP and in response to the path computation modules routing the LSP to the shortest path for the LSP on a network model of the network, installs the LSP to the network as routed to the shortest path.

Abstract: An aircraft flight deck audio system, including a central management unit and pilot, co-pilot and third-man terminals. Estimation units estimate the quality of uplink and/or downlink digital signals of the pilot and co-pilot terminals. A control unit is configured such that, when the quality of the digital signals on the uplink and/or the downlink of the pilot or co-pilot terminal is estimated as unsatisfactory, the digital signals intended for the pilot or co-pilot terminal are routed toward the third-man terminal downlink and the digital signals originating from the third-man terminal and present on the uplink are routed toward the output of the pilot or co-pilot terminal. Transceiver units of the pilot, co-pilot and third-man terminals, respectively, transmit the digital signals of the pilot or co-pilot terminal on the third-man terminal downlink and the digital signals on the uplink of the third-man terminal toward the pilot or co-pilot terminal.

Abstract: A network traffic controller includes components adapted to receive traffic from a multitude of switches and to compare the traffic data to one or more threshold values. The threshold values may represent usage quotas. If the traffic generated by a host is detected as exceeding such usage quota, a traffic control signal is sent to the switch connecting the host to the network. The control signal may instruct the switch to mark the associated host's traffic as low priority, or rate limit the interface so as to limit the amount of traffic that is allowed onto the network, or block the traffic altogether.
