  • Patent number: 9794165
Abstract: In some examples, a controller for a network includes a path computation module that determines, for a plurality of LSPs or other flows having a common source, shortest paths of the network from the common source to respective destinations of the plurality of LSPs based at least on a minimum bandwidth. The path computation module further determines, after determining the shortest paths, a shortest path for the LSP of the plurality of LSPs as the shortest path of the shortest paths of the network from the common source to a destination for the LSP. A path provisioning module of the controller, after the path computation module determines the shortest path for the LSP and in response to the path computation modules routing the LSP to the shortest path for the LSP on a network model of the network, installs the LSP to the network as routed to the shortest path.

Abstract: An aircraft flight deck audio system, including a central management unit and pilot, co-pilot and third-man terminals. Estimation units estimate the quality of uplink and/or downlink digital signals of the pilot and co-pilot terminals. A control unit is configured such that, when the quality of the digital signals on the uplink and/or the downlink of the pilot or co-pilot terminal is estimated as unsatisfactory, the digital signals intended for the pilot or co-pilot terminal are routed toward the third-man terminal downlink and the digital signals originating from the third-man terminal and present on the uplink are routed toward the output of the pilot or co-pilot terminal. Transceiver units of the pilot, co-pilot and third-man terminals, respectively, transmit the digital signals of the pilot or co-pilot terminal on the third-man terminal downlink and the digital signals on the uplink of the third-man terminal toward the pilot or co-pilot terminal.

Abstract: A network traffic controller includes components adapted to receive traffic from a multitude of switches and to compare the traffic data to one or more threshold values. The threshold values may represent usage quotas. If the traffic generated by a host is detected as exceeding such usage quota, a traffic control signal is sent to the switch connecting the host to the network. The control signal may instruct the switch to mark the associated host's traffic as low priority, or rate limit the interface so as to limit the amount of traffic that is allowed onto the network, or block the traffic altogether.

  • Patent number: 8958286
Abstract: Network devices provide Internet Protocol (IP) and Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) fast reroute for unicast and multicast traffic. The approach described herein for fast reroute for IP and LDP uses maximally redundant trees (MRTs). MRTs are a pair of trees where the path from any node X to the root R along the first tree and the path from the same node X to the root along the second tree share the minimum number of nodes and the minimum number of links. A network device, such as a router, computes a pair of MRTs for each destination and installs one or more MRT alternate next-hops in its forwarding plane for use in forwarding network traffic to a destination in the event a failure occurs that renders a primary next-hop unusable for reaching the destination.

  • Patent number: 8929375
Abstract: When stored identifying information of a transmission target frame and identifying information of a received frame are equal, a node apparatus updates transmission feasibility information stored in association with the final destination of the received frame. The transmission feasibility information indicates feasibility of transmission to each of a plurality of adjacent node apparatuses being a transmission destination, and is updated so that feasibility of transmission to the transmission destination associated with the identifying information of the received frame indicates that “the transmission is infeasible”. The node apparatus transmits the received frame, when there is no adjacent apparatus to which transmission is feasible, and when the stored identifying information of the transmission target frame is equal to the identifying information of the received frame, to the adjacent node apparatus recognized as the origin in association with the identifying information of the received frame.

  • Patent number: 8929203
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a network node for service instance management in telecommunications network. According to the method a plurality of network paths are monitored. A number of network paths form a protection group associated with a service instance or group of service instances. The monitoring of the network paths includes periodic transmission of CCMs on the network paths. To facilitate detection of mismatches related to protection switching, some CCMs include a mismatch information element that specifies traffic status of a working network path and of a protection network path for a set of protection groups. The set of protections groups includes the protection groups which the monitored network path is a member of. A CCM that includes the mismatch information element also includes an indication bit that indicates presence of the mismatch information element in the CCM.

  • Patent number: 8923321
Abstract: A base station (103) assigns a set of mobile stations (101) to a group wherein the group will share a set of radio resources (710). A shared control channel information element (501) is sent to the group of mobile stations (101) and provides a bitmap having fields for group ordering (511), resource allocations (530), failure handling resources (540), and an ordering pattern (513). If a mobile station fails to decode the shared control channel information element (501) it will access the failure handling resources in order to receive data. The failure handling channel may be persistent in some embodiments, or may be released after the mobile station is once again able to decode the shared control channel information element (501) and thereby share in the shared resource pool allocated to its mobile station group.

Abstract: A method for dynamically managing channels in a DSA radio system that supports multiple channels, includes producing a number of rendezvous combinations by pairing operating channels and backup channels in an 1:1 relation based on an available channel list. Further, the method includes when an arbitrary operating channel in a rendezvous combination is not suitable for communications, extracting a backup channel from the rendezvous combination to which the arbitrary operating channel belongs; and switching the extracted backup channel as an operating channel to continue a communication.

Abstract: A method for determining a restoration path for a new service in a mesh network involves selecting between candidate restoration paths corresponding to a primary path for the new service based on the shared-risk link groups (SRLGs) associated with links in the primary path. The method includes, for each of a plurality of candidate restoration paths associated with the primary path, (1) determining whether the primary path requires any additional restoration bandwidth to be reserved on any link of the restoration path based on whether, for each link of the restoration path, the primary path is SRLG-disjoint from each other primary path that is protected by that link, (2) generating a path cost for the restoration path, where the path cost is a function of whether any additional restoration bandwidth is required; and (3) selecting the restoration path for the new service based on the path cost.
