  • Patent number: 11838361
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for reducing distributed storage operation latency using segment routing. In some examples, a method can involve receiving, from a client, a message identifying an intent to store or retrieve data on a distributed storage environment, and sending to the client a segment routing (SR) list identifying storage node candidates for storing or retrieving the data. The method can involve steering a data request from the client through a path defined by the SR list based on a segment routing header (SRH) associated with the request, the SRH being configured to steer the request through the path until a storage node from the storage node candidates accepts the request. The method can further involve sending, to the client device, a response indicating that the storage node has accepted the request and storing or retrieving the data at the storage node that accepted the request.

  • Patent number: 11838201
Abstract: A method includes generating a first shortest path tree for traffic routing in a network, the first shortest path tree identifying a corresponding shortest path from the network node to other nodes in the network and generating a second shortest path tree for traffic routing after removing an element from the network. The second shortest path tree identifies a corresponding shortest path from the network node to the other nodes in the network with the element removed. A third shortest path tree is generated, which is a weighted version of the second shortest path tree with a weight value added to any node or link in the network sharing a SRLG value with the element removed from the network. Network traffic is enforced based on a comparison of the third shortest path tree with at least one of the first shortest path tree and the second shortest path tree.

Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for using geofences to restrict vehicle operation. Aspects of the invention include creating dynamic geofences and limiting vehicle movements (e.g., speed, acceleration, steering, etc.) within and in the vicinity of the dynamic geofences to protect pedestrians from physical harm. In general, radio devices track people in an area by counting the number of devices and calculating the number of people based on average number of devices per person. Using count and location data, a geofence is created when population or population density within an area exceeds a threshold. The geofence can be sent to vehicles to restrict vehicle operation, for example, slowing down or stopping the vehicle, within and around the geofence.

Abstract: A method supporting distributed resilient network interconnect (DRNI) in a link aggregation group at a network device is disclosed. The method starts with encapsulating a distributed relay control protocol data unit (DRCPDU) in a frame, wherein the DRCPDU includes a protocol data unit (PDU) structure. The PDU structure includes a type field indicating that the DRCPDU is for DRCP, a version field indicating a version number of the DRCP, and a set of type/length/values (TLVs) including: a terminator TLV indicating an end of the PDU structure, a portal information TLV indicating characteristics of the first portal, a portal configuration information TLV indicating configuration information of the first portal, a DRCP state TLV indicating variables associated with an intra-portal link (IPP), a home ports information TLV and a neighbor ports information TLV. The method continues with transmitting the frame encapsulating the DRCPDU from the network device to a neighbor network device.

Abstract: A computer system may obtain reference ticket data for reference tickets of an online system, with the reference ticket data indicating a reference issue for a reference component and a reference solution, and also obtain learning content items from a learning management system. The computer system may then create a mapping between the reference issues indicated by the reference ticket data for the reference tickets and the learning content items using an unsupervised machine learning algorithm. The computer system may detect target ticket data that has been provided by a user to the online system via a computing device, with the target ticket data indicating a target issue for a target component, identify a target solution for the target issue based on the target ticket data using the mapping, and cause a recommendation of the target solution to be displayed on the computing device.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a method inserts, by a first computing device, a first value for a capability in a first message that is used in a process to automatically exchange capability values with a second computing device. The first value for the capability indicates the first computing device requires a default route to reach the second computing device as a next hop for sending a packet to a destination. The first computing device sends the first message to the second computing device; and receives a second value for the capability in a second message from the second computing device. The second value indicating the second computing device will send the default route to reach the second computing device. When the default route is received from the second computing device, the first computing device stores the default route from the second computing device in a route table.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for updating network configuration documentation. In an example, a user can upload network configuration documentation with updates to a network to a server. The server can create an update topology corresponding to the documentation by identifying symbols that represent network components. The server can identify changes by comparing the update topology to a configuration data of an existing network. For example, the address of a gateway or the connections to the gateway can change. The server can cause the changes to be presented to a user, such as by highlighting the changes in a diagram. The user can confirm the changes, such as with a conversational workflow, and the server can save the changes to a database. The system can also send commands to the applicable network components to effectuate the confirmed changes.

  • Patent number: 11799772
Abstract: Techniques are described for supporting multiple virtual networks over an underlay network. The techniques may provide support for network slicing and enhanced virtual private networks (VPNs) over an underlay network. In general, the techniques include allocating a subset of resources (e.g., nodes and/or links) of the underlay network to a particular virtual network, and advertising the subset of resources to provider edge (PE) routers that are participating in the virtual network. A network controller device may advertise the subset of resources for the virtual network to the respective PE routers using BGP-LS (Border Gateway Protocol-Link State). Based on the advertisements, each of the PE routers generates a restricted view of the full underlay network topology for the virtual network and, thus, only uses the subset of resources in the restricted view to generate routing and forwarding tables for the virtual network.
