  • Patent number: 10447379
Abstract: An active repeater device includes a primary sector and one or more secondary sectors, receives a first beam of input RF signals. A first set of analog baseband signals, are generated based on received first beam of input RF signals. The first set of analog baseband signals are converted to a first set of coded data signals and control information is extracted from the first set of coded data signals by decoding only a header portion of the first set of coded data signals without demodulation of data portion of the first set of coded data signals. Based on the extracted control information, the first set of coded data signals are transmitted as beams of output RF signals to remote user equipment. The transmission is independent of demodulation of the data portion within the active repeater device to reduce latency for transmission of the first set of coded data signals.

  • Patent number: 10432383
Abstract: A method and a base station are provided. The base station obtains a first path gain of a cellular radio link to a first wireless device, a second path gain of a cellular radio link to a second wireless device and a third path gain of a Device-to-Device radio link between the first wireless device and the second wireless device. When the first, second and third path gains satisfy a threshold condition, the base station instructs the second wireless device to apply network coding on first data transmitted from the first wireless device and to transmit a network coded form of the first data. The base station receives a radio signal with the first data transmitted from the first wireless device and uses the network coded form of the first data transmitted by the second wireless device for decoding the first data.

  • Patent number: 10433321
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method in a cellular communication system, for avoiding errors in a HARQ process, wherein an NDI flag is used both for indicating either semi-persistent scheduling, SPS activation or SPS retransmissions, and also for indicating, by toggling of the flag, a new transmission in dynamic scheduling mode. The method comprises the steps of receiving, in a scheduling message, an indication that dynamically scheduled transmission will take place; if a semi persistent resource has occurred for the same HARQ process since a previously received indication for dynamically scheduled transmission, then considering the NDI flag to be toggled regardless of the value of the NDI flag. Thus, if the condition is fulfilled, a UE will always regard the NDI flag as indicating or requesting a new data transmission.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and devices for performing autonomous RLC retransmission in a wireless communication system. The methods involve and the devices perform transmitting a RLC PDU to a RLC receiver on a first transmission opportunity. When the RLC PDU is transmitted, a check is performed to determine if a condition for performing a RLC PDU retransmission procedure is met. If the condition is met, the RLC PDU is stored in a re-transmitter buffer and re-transmitted during consecutive transmission opportunities following the first transmission opportunity.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a repeater device having a first coupler to extract downstream channel signals from first guided electromagnetic waves bound to a transmission medium of a guided wave communication system. An amplifier amplifies the downstream channel signals to generate amplified downstream channel signals. A channel selection filter selects one or more of the amplified downstream channel signals to wirelessly transmit to the at least one client device via an antenna. A second coupler guides the amplified downstream channel signals to the transmission medium of the guided wave communication system to propagate as second guided electromagnetic waves. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: As IMS-based sessions are established for UEs served by a relay base station, the IMS platform will signal to a core network to request setup of bearers for carrying traffic of the IMS-based sessions and will identify the relay base station serving the UEs. Based on this IMS signaling messages identifying the relay base station serving the UEs for which the bearers are being set up, the core network will track a count of such bearers established for UEs served by the relay base station. And upon detecting that the tracked count reaches a threshold level, the core network will trigger adjustment of a maximum bit rate and/or other QoS attribute of a relay bearer established for providing aggregate wireless backhaul connectivity for the relay base station.

The access network includes half-duplex base stations, in which, when a downlink message is to be sent, in the course of a predetermined time interval, to a terminal that has sent an uplink message received by several base stations. Reception loads associated respectively with a group of base stations that have received the uplink message sent by the terminal are obtained. Each reception load being representative of a probability of reception, by the corresponding base station, of an uplink message in the course of the time interval. A base station is selected from among the base stations of the group, as a function of the reception loads obtained. The downlink message is transmitted by the selected base station.
