Specifically, a user equipment (UE) transmits a dedicated scheduling request to a base station (BS). The dedicated scheduling request indicates a first scheduling request that is a request to transmit beam state information, multiplexed on an uplink data channel, or a second scheduling request that is a request to allocate a resource for a reference signal for beam refinement information. When the dedicated scheduling request indicates the first scheduling request, the UE receives an uplink grant including a response to the first scheduling request from the BS. The UE feeds the BSI back multiplexed on the uplink data channel to the BS.

Abstract: Different filtered-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (f-OFDM) frame formats may be used to achieve the spectrum flexibility. F-OFDM waveforms are generated by applying a pulse shaping digital filter to an orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) signal. Different frame formats may be used to carry different traffic types as well as to adapt to characteristics of the channel, transmitter, receiver, or serving cell. The different frame formats may utilize different sub-carrier (SC) spacings and/or cyclic prefix (CP) lengths. In some embodiments, the different frame formats also utilize different symbol durations and/or transmission time interval (TTI) lengths.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for performing an uplink Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) operation in an asymmetric multicarrier communication network environment. In one embodiment, a method includes transmitting a HARQ packet to a base station in a transmit time interval of one of a plurality of partitions of an uplink allocation interval on a first carrier by a mobile station. Then, the method includes determining a partition of the uplink allocation interval in which the HARQ packet is transmitted, and determining a HARQ feedback region in the subsequent downlink subframe corresponding to the determined partition. The method further includes receiving HARQ feedback information in the determined HARQ feedback region in the subsequent downlink subframe on a second carrier from the base station.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a mechanism that may allow a UE to determine whether PBCH repetition is enabled in the target cell without performing a hypothesis test. For example, the apparatus may receive a handover message from a serving cell. In an aspect, the handover message may be associated with a handover procedure to a target cell. In addition, the apparatus may determine whether to perform a hypothesis test to determine if a PBCH repetition is enabled in the target cell based on the handover message. In one example, the apparatus may determine not to perform the hypothesis test when the handover message includes information that indicates if the PBCH repetition is enabled in the target cell. In another example, the apparatus may determine to perform the hypothesis test when the handover message does not include information that indicates if the PBCH repetition is enabled in the target cell.

  • Patent number: 10178662
Abstract: A method for communicating data between a base station and a terminal device in a wireless telecommunications system, for example an LTE-based system. The wireless communication system uses plural frequency sub-carriers spanning a system frequency band. Physical-layer control information for the terminal device is transmitted from the base station using sub-carriers selected from across the system frequency band, for example to provide frequency diversity. However, higher-layer data for the terminal device is transmitted using only sub-carriers selected from within a restricted frequency band which is smaller than and within the system frequency band. The terminal device is aware of the restricted frequency band, and as such need only buffer and process data within this restricted frequency band during periods where higher-layer data is being transmitted. The terminal device buffers and processes the full system frequency band during periods when physical-layer control information is transmitted.
