Abstract: A device and method of duplex audio communication over a broadcast channel are disclosed. Low-power transmission over a broadcast channel is permissible for personal use as long as the transmitted power level is below a level allowed by respective regulatory. For example, low-power FM transmitter can be used to provide a wireless audio link between two audio devices. One such application scenario is a wireless speakerphone used as an audio extension from a cellphone for group conference purposes. Such applications face issues of potential interference from other users of the same channel and the need of manually selecting and tuning a pair of channels. The device and method disclosed in the present invention use the clear channel technique to automatically select an un-occupied channel for the transmit side and utilizes an identification embedded in a sub-channel to allow the receiver to automatically tune to the channel used by the transmitter.

Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for multi-radio coexistence and a collaborative interface may include exchanging information between a plurality of radio transceivers integrated within a single device to enable coexistence, and coordinating sharing of transmit and receive resources between the plurality of radio transceivers by controlling access to the transmit and receive resources, where any one of the plurality of radio transceivers may be enabled to be selected to control the access based on the exchanged information. Selecting one of the radio transceivers for the controlling of the access band may be based on processing capability or priority of communication. The resources may comprise frequency bands, time slots, and antenna access. The information may be exchanged via a serial bus between the plurality of radio transceivers, where the serial bus may conform to an I2C (I-square-C) multi-master serial bus. Each of the radio transceivers may conform to one or more radio frequency technology.

  • Patent number: 8340125
Abstract: A method includes receiving a request for bandwidth from a first network node of a coordinated network and broadcasting a first transmission schedule to a plurality of network nodes including the first network node. The first transmission schedule allocates bandwidth for the first network node to transmit data to a second network node. An acknowledgement (ACK) message is received from the second network node identifying that the second network node successfully received the data from the first network node.

  • Patent number: 8331398
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of constructing a resource allocation map in a mobile communication system. In a method of constructing a map in a hierarchial pattern method in a case where a localized resource block (localized RB) and a distributed resource block (distributed RB) need to be simultaneously allocated in regards to a radio resource allocated in a previous frame or reserved with a fixed allocation, a radio resource that is reserved or not used and a radio resource that is newly allocated in a map of a current frame are classified and represented. Then, in regards to a radio resource that is allocated in a current frame, a localized RB and a distributed RB are classified and represented. As for the localized RB, allocation information is represented in an index pattern method, and as for the distributed RB, resource allocation information is represented in a toggle pattern method.

Abstract: A method of congestion management in a wireless mesh network in which the CSMA/CA algorithm is used to access wireless medium, said network comprising a first station and at least one neighboring station able to communicate directly with the first station, comprises: —broadcasting (22) an announcement message by the first station to the at least one neighboring station when the first station experiences a congestion in its environment, said announcement message comprising a congestion level parameter, —activating (26) by the neighboring station, at reception of the announcement message, a congestion state in which the minimum size of the time window, called contention window, to access the medium before transmission of a message is strictly greater than the minimum size (CWmin) defined in absence of congestion, said minimum size in congestion state being defined as a function of the congestion level parameter.

  • Patent number: 8320398
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate paging a peer in a peer-to-peer communication network. Paging messages may be communicated directly between a wireless terminal and its peer(s). Further, the wireless terminal may monitor for incoming paging messages during subinterval(s) of a paging interval as a function of an identifier of the wireless terminal. Moreover, the wireless terminal may transmit a paging message to a peer (e.g., detected and/or identified during peer discovery) during subinterval(s) of the paging interval as a function of an identifier of the peer.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for network traffic scheduling. The method includes selecting, at a present node within a node hierarchy that multiplexes a plurality of input nodes to an output node, a winning node from a plurality of lower level nodes, obtaining first parameters provided from the winning node, the first parameters being in association with the winning node, determining second parameters in association with the present node at least partially based on the first parameters, and providing the second parameters in association with the present node to an upper level node in the node hierarchy for scheduling at the upper level node. To determine the second parameters in association with the present node, in an embodiment, the method includes using the first parameters to look up an entry in a lookup table that stores the second parameters in association with the first parameters.

  • Patent number: 8315271
Abstract: An IBSS that allows token passing for round-robin service of QoS flows is disclosed (an RRBSS). The RRBSS permits low-latency, reduced contention, distributed scheduling useful in any ad hoc network, but particularly suitable for high data rates. Distributed scheduled access is provided for flows through a round-robin token passing service discipline. STAs follow a round-robin order, or list, and are able to communicate with round-robin transmit opportunities during a defined period. Each STA in the list transmits a respective token to transfer access to the shared medium to the next STA in the RR List. The sequence is terminated with an end token. STAs maintain station identifiers and list updates are maintained with a sequence identifier. Techniques are disclosed to add and remove STAs to the sequence; establish connectivity lists (receive and forward), and maintain other sequence parameters such as bandwidth management and TXOP duration. Various other aspects are also disclosed.

Abstract: While ECUs are connected with a distribution apparatus via a communication line, each of the ECUs sends status notification representing own status to the distribution apparatus. The distribution apparatus creates status information representing status of the ECUs in accordance with status notifications received from the ECUs connected with the distribution apparatus. This status information is sent to other distribution apparatuses together with data for synchronizing a database. The other ECUs perform similar operations to those of the ECUs, while the other distribution apparatuses perform similar operations to those of the distribution apparatus. Therefore, each of the distribution apparatuses can recognize the status of all the ECUs.
