Abstract: In a method for recording telephone conversations between a subscriber to a service provider and a telephone conversation partner, the subscriber dials the number of the service provider and interacts with a menu-driven IVR user interface, entering his subscriber number as well as a corresponding PIN-number to authenticate himself. After the verification, the subscriber can chose one or more of the following options: (a) listen to one or more of his previously recorded telephone conversations, (b) delete one or more of his previously recorded telephone conversations, (c) arrange that all incoming and outgoing calls are to be automatically recorded, (d) deactivate the setting that all incoming and outgoing calls are automatically recorded, and/or (e) record the next telephone conversation. At the beginning of each conversation to be recorded, the service provider informs the telephone conversation partner, via a warning voice message, that the telephone conversation will be recorded.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter is directed to the use of an application reputation service to assist users with minimizing their computerized machines' exposure to infection from malware. The claimed subject matter provides an application reputation service that contains the reputations for elements that are known to be non-malicious as well as those known to be malicious. One embodiment is implemented as a method to determine the reputation of an element (e.g., an application). When a user attempts to install or execute a new application, the Application Reputation Service is queried by the user's machine with a set of identities for the element. The reputation of the application is determined by referencing a knowledge base of known reputations and returns an indication (e.g., an overall rating, or a flag) of how safe that application would be to install and run on the user's computer.

Abstract: A system and method for producing audio messages for use in a contact center. A customer may specify message content, and provide a voice specification, which may identify a preferred voice artist and other aspects of the audio message including the language, accent and tone of the message. The service may produce the recording and provide it to the customer.

Abstract: A communication device for rendering one or more conversations. The communication device includes a receiver configured to receive media over a network and an encoder configured to encode media created using the communication device, where the received and encoded media are associated with the one or more conversations. A storage or memory element stores on the device both the received media and the encoded media. A conversation control element is provided for selecting one of the one or more conversations as current and for controlling the rendering of the media of the selected conversation.

Abstract: The present invention allows a user to screen messages being left at a hosted voicemail system from a telephone terminal. Incoming calls intended for the telephone terminal are routed to the voicemail system immediately or after attempting to connect incoming call to the telephone terminal. As the caller is leaving a message at the voicemail system, a connection between the incoming call, voicemail system, and telephone terminal is established to allow the user to listen to the message and decide whether to take the call. The user may decide to take the call or let the caller finish leaving the message. In one embodiment, the telephone terminal is equipped to open only the speaker channel for monitoring the message and will provide a fully bi-directional connection if the user takes the call. The supporting switch and telephone terminal communicate with each other to facilitate the monitoring and taking of calls.

Abstract: Systems and methods for secure recording in a customer center environment are provided. The system receives data related to a communication at a media distribution device. A key is provided by a key server to the media distribution device to encrypt the received data. In addition, an identifier may be associated with the received data. The key and the identifier are stored in a database associated with the key server. The encrypted data is recorded the a recorder, where it is accessible to authorized users within the customer center. Upon request, the key is provided to the authorized user to decrypt the encrypted data for play back. The customer center environment may include a user interface for viewing customer contacts. The contact may be organized into folders and annotations associated with the customer contacts may be received.

Abstract: A method in one embodiment includes storing a voicemail message in a mailbox of a recipient, the voicemail message being left by a sender, and then electronically receiving one or more attachments from the sender. The one or more attachments are stored as content associated with the voicemail message. Upon accessing the mailbox, the voicemail message and the one or more attachments are provided to the recipient. Abstract: A method and system for synchronizing in real-time the voice media of a conversation conducted over a network between a first communication device and a second communication. The method includes at each of the first and second communication devices progressively storing in first and second storage elements and transmitting the voice media created using the first and second communication devices to the other communication device respectively. Both the first and second communication devices store in the first and second storage elements the progressively received media from the other device respectively. A mechanism to continually review, ascertain and request the media stored in the first storage element, but not the second storage element, and vice-versa is provided to ensure that the two storage elements contain the same voice media. As a result, the first and second storage elements each maintain real-time synchronized copies of the voice media of the conversation respectively.

A selection of one of the available voicemails is received. A preview portion of the voicemail corresponding to the selection of one of the available voicemails is played.

Abstract: An application may provide a communication session platform for a first participant to communicate to a second recipient in a service provider capacity. For instance a doctor, lawyer or other service provider may initiate a call application on a their user device and the device may transmit a communication session request to another user device of a patient or client, via the call application. The application may also provide transmitting a consent request to the client user device requesting consent to a term described by a pre-recorded content segment and receiving a confirmation message from the client user device agreeing to the consent request, and bridging the communication session between the client user device and the service provide user device.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for synchronizing transcripts and recordings of a bridge conference is described. An audio file recording of a bridge conference is accessed as well as a transcript of events associated with the bridge conference. The transcript of events associated with the bridge conference is synchronized with the audio file recording of a bridge conference such that a user can utilize the transcript to navigate to a desired place in the audio file recording of a bridge conference.

Abstract: Disclosed is a voice message exchange system and method for improving communication between an inmate and a third party by enabling the inmate to leave a message when a call is not answered and further allowing the third party who receives the message to reply with a message to the inmate. Additionally, outside parties that meet the institution's requirements can leave messages for inmates at any time. The present invention can be used as an add-on to legacy inmate call management systems or incorporated internally into an inmate call management system. The system also provides monitoring, controlling, recording, and billing means.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments related to a method and system for creating an audio snippet. The method includes receiving a call from a calling party on a communication device. The method further includes recording a first audio of the calling party at the communication device. The method further includes creating the audio snippet by using the first audio of the calling party and, one or more pre-stored second audio on the communication device on the basis of one or more techniques.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for implementing automatic answering and recording in videophone services. The method comprises: when a video call is coming, a called terminal automatically answering the call and playing a prerecorded automatic answering prompting message to a calling user; and the called terminal recording audio and video of the calling user and ending the call after the recording is completed. The present invention has solved the problem that a videophone has no automation answering and recording function in prior art. Thus, the user can answer selectively video calls at anytime and anywhere, important video calls can be automatically recorded, and video calls which are inconvenient to be answered can be answered automatically by choosing various videos.

Abstract: Mechanisms are disclosed that allow for the use of a false background, or background tone, in voice input in a telephonic call. A voice input may have both voice from a user talking and a background noise input which may be every other noise received at the user's phone. A trigger to use a background tone is received, the background tone is selected and the associated background tone file is retrieved. Then, a combiner combines the voice input with the background tone file. A filter may be used to filter the actual background noise from the voice input. Additionally, background tones may be used in various telephonic networks, including traditional land-line and wireless cellular networks.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for providing pre-call-connection messaging services to calling parties. In at least one embodiment, a first call-setup request is received from a calling party, reflecting a request that an active call be set up between the calling party and a called party. Responsive to the first call-setup request, at least one network device starts to attempt to establish the active call between the calling and called parties at least in part by transmitting a second call-setup request to the called party. Prior to receiving a response to the second call-setup request, the at least one network device starts to record a message for the called party while continuing to attempt to establish the call. If the active call is not successfully established prior to an affirmative termination of the message recording, the recorded message is thereafter made accessible to the called party.

Abstract: Facilities are provided herein for backing up messages and related activities. An active telephone call is initiated to a voicemail server and recording of the audio stream of the active telephone call is initiated to record a voicemail message being played back during the telephone call. The recorded voicemail message may then be edited, tagged, enhanced, organized with other messages, and shared, as examples. In another aspect, backup of messages is facilitated by an intermediary system that establishes an active telephone call between a voicemail server and a client. The intermediary system passes a request from the client to the voicemail server to commence playback of a voicemail message, and the intermediary system records a portion of the audio stream of the active telephone call.

Abstract: A method and computer-readable medium for establishing a push-to-talk social group are provided. According to the method, group setup information is received from a member of the push-to-talk social group, and a data transmission, including an internet address of an internet application that manages push-to-talk social groups, is sent to each member of the push-to-talk social group. Push-to-talk calling may be monitored in a push-to-talk gateway application, based upon the group setup information. When a push-to-talk call is detected in which a first member of the push-to-talk social group is active, other members of the push-to-talk social group are informed that the first member is active on the detected push-to-talk call. Abstract: Call replay systems and methods are disclosed. A call replay system can record a telephonic communication and replay the recorded communication upon request. The entire communication may be recorded, or only a portion, such as the most recent few minutes. The entire recording can be transmitted to a requestor, or only a portion. The recording may be altered before it is transmitted to a requestor. Alterations may include actions taken to reduce playback time, such as removing spaces in the recording where no conversation is taking place, or speeding up the recording. Other alterations may include adjusting the sonic characteristics of the recording, translating the recording, or transcribing the recording to create a text version.

Abstract: The certification system and method acquires, records and then authenticates a voice communication between communicating parties by a service provider in a telecommunication system. The system acquires, maintains custody over, controls access to, and permits modification, supplementation and deletion of recorded communications session, and distributes a reproduction of an authenticated recording. The authenticated record includes the authenticated identity AU-ID of the parties which is ascertained and documented at the time of acquisition, upon any access, modification or supplementation to the recording and at the time of authentication. AU-ID is adjunct data to the recording. The supplemented recording may include a translation, a transcription and an emotional characteristic.

Abstract: A DFE circuit for use in a semiconductor memory device and an initializing method thereof. In the method of initializing a DFE circuit used in a semiconductor memory device having a discontinuous data transmission, the DFE circuit may be used for changing a sampling reference level in response to a level of previous data and sampling transmission data. The method includes terminating a data channel having a transmission of the transmission data at a predefined termination level, and controlling a sampling start time point of the transmission data as a time point preceding a transmission time point of the transmission data by a predefined time. Further, an initialization may be performed of the previous data on the basis of initialization data obtained through a pre-sampling of the data channel at a sampling start time point of the transmission data, thereby obtaining an initialization of the DFE circuit and compensating for a feedback delay.

Abstract: A system and method for quick note messaging on a wireless device. A message prompt is issued indicating a caller may leave a quick note message during a ring back period. A recording alert is played in response to receiving a caller selection to record the quick note message. The quick note message is recorded. Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for assigning one or more conditions to a telephonic communication system to enable recording, replaying, and pausing of a telephone conversation. Recording of a telephone conversation may be manually or dynamically initiated during the telephone conversation. Dynamic replay of a telephone conversation is automatically initiated when a conversation experiences insufficient call quality, an interruption to the telephone service is detected, the user is distracted, a displacement of the user's phone is detected, or the user toggles between listening modes. A pause mode is automatically entered into during the telephone conversation when a section of the telephone conversation is replayed. An automated pause alert may be played during repeat of the telephone conversation to inform one or more parties that the user is temporarily unavailable. Real-time access to the telephone conversation is resumed when the replaying of the recorded telephone conversation has ended.
