Power-operated Patents (Class 38/37)
  • Patent number: 6782645
Abstract: A safety guard system and deactivation device for protection of an operator of a garment press. A guard bar is manipulated in concert with movement of a press head between operative and inoperative positions. Manipulation of the guard bar reciprocates an activation device for sequentially activating actuatable valves which control the transmission of pressurized air to a head closing piston and cylinder for press head movement. A deactivation device is positioned proximal to the activation device to control reciprocation thereof. The deactivation device is retracted when pressurized air is interrupted to the garment press, resulting in restraint of activation device and deactivation of the actuatable valves, along with movement of the press head and guard bar to an inoperative position.

  • Patent number: 6463684
Abstract: A temperature-compensated, long-period grating using a multi-cladding structure having an optical fiber including a core with a plurality of long-period gratings formed periodically thereon, and the core is doped with a first dopant to exhibit a positive coupling wavelength shift as the temperature increases; an inner cladding surrounding the core with a refractive index lower than the core; and, an outer cladding surrounding the inner cladding with a lower refractive index than said inner cladding, and the outer cladding is doped with a second dopant to exhibit a negative coupling wavelength shift as the refractive index of the outer cladding is increased with temperature so that the positive wavelength shift and the negative wavelength shift are canceled out.

  • Patent number: 6119379
Abstract: A textile press with an ambidextrous closing system for closing and locking a press head against a buck. The textile press is configured with a pair of activators configured such that pressing and holding one of the activators causes the press head to engage the buck. Concurrently pressing the remaining of the pair of activators causes the press head to be locked in position when the press head moves into engagement with the buck. At the end of the timed pressing cycle or when a release activator is activated, the press head returns to the open position.

  • Patent number: 6061934
Abstract: It incorporates a metallic plate (2) in the lever arm (1) which triggers the transfer plate (4) electromagnet (3), fixing the arm (1) previously positioned by the spring (10) and which presses with the iron (5) towards the transfer base (6), at the same that the countdown is started in the front (8) meter (7) of the machine, with an electromagnet (3) disconnection timer (9) and the automatic opening of the iron.
