Abstract: Scenes can be imaged under low-light conditions using flash photography. However, the flash can be irritating to individuals being photographed, especially when those individuals' eyes have adapted to the dark. Additionally, portions of images generated using a flash can appear washed-out or otherwise negatively affected by the flash. These issues can be addressed by using a flash at an invisible wavelength, e.g., an infrared and/or ultraviolet flash. At the same time a scene is being imaged, at the invisible wavelength of the invisible flash, the scene can also be imaged at visible wavelengths. This can include simultaneously using both a standard RGB camera and a modified visible-plus-invisible-wavelengths camera (e.g., an “IR-G-UV” camera). The visible and invisible image data can then be combined to generate an improved visible-light image of the scene, e.g., that approximates a visible light image of the scene, had the scene been illuminated during daytime light conditions.

In the method, each row of pixels of the input image may be read progressively to generate lighting instructions corresponding to each row. The instructions are sent to e.g. programmable LEDs. The process continues with a first row of pixels from the input image being processed first, followed by processing of a subsequent row of pixels of the input image. Upon processing of the second row of pixels, LEDs of the LED strip are illuminated correspondingly. This process continues iteratively until the final row of pixels of the input image. • Patent number: 10148889
Abstract: An image capturing apparatus detects the movement of a main body by an angular velocity sensor, detects the movement of the captured object image, and detects the angular velocity. An exposure time during image capturing is set by an automatic exposure setting processing. A longest exposure time is calculated based on a maximum drive amount of an optical system including a correction lens, and the exposure time is set so as not to exceed the longest exposure time by upgrading a photographing condition. When an operation instruction for photographing is received, a drive control to relatively change a position of the object image to be captured is performed by driving the correction lens of the optical system in the period before the passage of the set exposure time.
