Flush Closet Patents (Class 4/300)
  • Patent number: 4176413
Abstract: An integral, unitary plastic tank and rim flush for a toilet are disclosed, along with the apparatus and method of manufacture. The tank includes a bottom wall and sidewalls, one of which is integral with an essentially tubular water passageway. The rim includes an oval-shaped, hollow duct which is integral with the passageway and includes a plurality of spaced openings in a bottom wall surface to distribute water around the periphery of a toilet bowl. In the method of making the product, an elongated thermoplastic parison is positioned between a pair of blow mold sections. Next, the sections are closed, enclosing respective parison portions within a tank cavity, a passageway cavity and a rim cavity. Blow fluid under pressure is introduced into the parison portion within the tank cavity, resulting in the various cavity-enclosed parison portions being blown to their final shape. After cooling, the article is removed from the mold, trimmed and drilled to form the final product.

  • Patent number: 4174589
Abstract: A planter box for bathrooms is provided wherein a specially adapted planter structure is constructed for positioning atop the flush tank of conventional commodes in place of the cover therefor. The box includes drainage ports depending from the lower portion thereof for fluid flow communication into the commode tank. The box is constructed to matingly mount atop the commode tank to serve as a lid therefor. The drainage ports thereof are provided with a mesh screen or the like and a replaceable filter to prevent the transfer therethrough of the soil and related material housing the plants therein. A small hand pump is provided in conjunction with the planter box to siphon water from within the commode tank for being dispersed upon the plants within the box. In this manner, selected plants may be displayed and cared for in the bathroom without concern of transferring water thereto and/or the drainage therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4173800
Abstract: A sanitary syphon gas trap particularly adapted for use in association with squat-type water closets, which are installed at floor grade level, which trap has an inlet arm and an outlet arm of circular cross-section, and an angularly disposed seal arm in rebent relationship to said inlet arm intermediate the inlet and outlet. The seal arm has an arcuate non-circular cross-section whose area is less than the flow area of said inlet arm and whose juncture with the outlet arm defines a flow-fall which is out of the main stream of the flow path between the seal arm and the outlet arm. A downwardly directed water jet from the water closet initiates a Venturi effect of high velocity flow in the seal arm for waste discharge.

  • Patent number: 4120312
Abstract: An improved vacuum-type waste water removal system is provided for use in buildings wherein waste water, collected from facilities such as toilets and bath tubs in the building, is fed by gravity feed lines to a collection chamber connected to a vacuum line for removal of the collected water, and wherein a check valve is connected between the collection chamber and the vacuum line which opens automatically when the water reaches a preselected maximum. The improvement concerns the provision of a backwash receptacle connected to either a gravity line or the collection chamber at a location above the maximum water level in the collection chamber and substantially below the facilities referred to. The volume of the backwash receptacle is large as compared with the collection chamber and the backwash receptacle serves to reduce operating noise and to provide overflow protection.
