    Abstract: A dispensing device comprising a container with product outlets, a screw that operates a piston within the container and a torsion spring that biases the screw. The torsion spring includes a hoop having one or more inner tabs. The hoop is frictionally engaged with an interior surface of the container. A boss is fixed to the screw and a flexible arm interconnects the hoop and boss. The torsion spring also includes a spoke that is angularly offset from the flexible arm. Application of a rotational force to the screw urges the piston toward the container outlets, causing the flexible arm to yield, allowing the boss to rotate relative to the hoop until the spoke engages an inner tab. Further rotation releases the hoop from frictional engagement with the container. Once the rotational force is removed, the hoop re-engages the container interior surface and the flexible arm regains its original shape, causing the hub and screw to counter-rotate, which simultaneously moves the piston away from the fluid outlets.

A flexible tube extends from an opening in the channel to near the top of bristles. The threaded end mates to the chamber. The chamber is coupled to a plunger assembly having a plunger head that seals against the sides of the chamber. The plunger head pulls a vacuum on the chamber when moved laterally in a first direction and pressurizes the chamber when moved laterally in a second direction. A toothpaste tube is threaded into the threaded end of the chamber and toothpaste is extracted from the toothpaste tube into the chamber or delivered from the chamber to the bristles. A universal adapter is used for non-compatible toothpaste tubes.

As a result, the pressure of the liquid in the liquid storage cylinder increases; thus, liquid can be drained out.

    Abstract: An applicator for dispensing metered amounts of medicaments in stick formulations is comprised of a hollow tube and a piston mounted to slidingly move within the tube. A finger operable base is rotatably mounted at one end of the tube and is mechanically linked by a screw member to the piston to urge the piston towards the other end of the tube. A depressible thumb piece is associated with the rotatable base. An extension or post is associated with the thumb piece to extend inward of the tube and to register with a race formed inside the tube. The race has a series of detents with which the extension may register upon rotation of the base. Registration between the extension and the detents signals certain increments of rotation or prevents further rotation of the base. The thumb piece is depressed inward to bring the extension out of registration with the detents.

A dome shaped product discharge piston is movable through the body beneath the storage chamber driven by a piston drive screw having two flat and two arcuate sides opposed each other for driving the piston upwardly in the cylindrical body to discharge the product. A dial and screw drive ratchet is positioned within said container and has a manually rotatable apron for advancing the screw shaft and piston and is positioned beneath said piston. A base and wrench is positioned at the open end of the container for positioning and supporting the dial and screw drive ratchet to permit the drive screw to be rotated by the dial apron while permitting axial motion of the drive screw through the base and wrench to drive the piston upwardly.
