Abstract: A rod joint in which the entire threaded length connection between two substantially straight rods, without shoulders, is pre-stressed, including a split, sectioned ring which fits between preformed seats on each of the rod elements.
Abstract: A portable, lightweight clothes drying rack, adapted to be erected over a shower stall or bathtub enclosure to extend between a shower curtain rod and an opposing vertical enclosure wall; the device comprising a rigid, unitary member having a linear portion which is operationally supported near one end by the shower curtain rod and is formed with an upturned portion at its opposite end which is engageable with the enclosure wall at an elevation above the shower curtain rod. A stop means, adjustably movable along the member to accommodate variations in the shower curtain rod to wall distance, also serves to couple the linear portion to the curtain rod and stabilize the device in operating position.
Abstract: A positive cam lock for a pair of telescoping extension poles. The cam support is mounted to the inner pole and carries a coaxially rotatably mounted idler cam and an eccentrically rotatably mounted locking cam. The outer pole has a number of inwardly extending splines which engage corresponding grooves on the locking and idler cams. When the outer pole is rotated, the eccentric cam will rotate and lock the outer pole at a desired axial position with respect to the inner pole while the idler cam prevents misalignment. A key mounted to the locking cam rides in a keyway on the cam support for preventing over-rotation of the locking cam.
Abstract: Tubular discharge bodies are provided for sanitary flow fittings. The discharge bodies are provided with an annular fitted element which may be placed in two settings or removed to enable three different pivoting ranges of 0.degree., 90.degree. or 360.degree..
Abstract: A conveyor trough construction, particularly for scraper chain conveyors, comprises a conveyor having longitudinal side walls formed with a plurality of abutting sections, each having a longitudinally extending bore therethrough which aligns with the next adjacent section. The bores of adjacent pairs of sections terminate in inwardly bevelled ends, and a coupling bolt extends through the bores of adjacent sections and terminates at each of its ends with an inwardly tapered portion which is engaged in the inwardly tapered ends of the bores. Each section is provided with a side wall opening, which extends into the bore, and a locking spring is inserted in the opening and engaged over the coupling bolt. The bore of the sections is dimensioned to provide an axial clearance for the locking spring.
