Patent number: 8662807Abstract: In case when an external force in a direction of pulling out from a female member acts on a male member in a fully fastened state, the male member moves in an axial direction, and a position where claw parts of engaging leg pieces engage moves from mounting parts and to contact parts. An engaging slot is formed on the contact part, and the engaging slot therefore engages with the claw part of the engaging leg piece. Movement in the direction of rotation of the male member is thereby restricted, and the male member is moved in state along the axial direction, so that the claw parts of the engaging leg pieces do not engage with engaging holes, and a state in which a vehicle body panel and a trim board are sandwiched by a flange part and the engaging leg pieces can be maintained.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2010Date of Patent: March 4, 2014Assignee: NIFCO Inc.Inventor: Takefumi Adachi

Publication number: 20110318134Abstract: The present invention is intended to provide an anchor that makes it possible to check the placement condition of the anchor easily to realize efficient and safe check after the placement. An anchor includes an expansion member that permits a shaft part to pass therethrough while being placed between a base portion of an anchor bolt and a spreading sleeve. The expansion member includes wing-like expansion parts that are caused to expand by pressing force exerted in the axial direction of the shaft part. The anchor bolt causes the shaft part to rotate in response to the rotation of the base portion of the anchor bolt, thereby driving a cone nut into the spreading sleeve. As a result, spreading parts spread outwardly. Further, the base portion of the anchor bolt presses the expansion member in response to threaded insertion of the shaft part to cause the wing-like expansion parts to expand.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 22, 2011Publication date: December 29, 2011Applicant: N-Pat Co., Ltd.Inventor: Makoto IKUNO

Patent number: 5149235Abstract: A nut fastener device for a blind hole anchor (FIG. 2) has the nut 14 made frusto-conical with the smallest diameter knurled at 30 and with the largest diameter provided with relieved and back tapered flanks 20. The nut is made integral with a sleeve 10 having flange 12 and a further knurled zone 32, and a sheer zone 16 between the sleeve and nut. During the installation the nut is pulled into the sleeve to expand the sleeve and deform it to the cross sectional shape of the nut so as to provide an angular fix. The sleeve is effectively fixed to the sheet material by the flange on the one side and the deformation of the sleeve on the other side of the sheet. The knurled bands which become axially aligned increase the angular hold of the device in the sheet and of the nut in the sleeve.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1991Date of Patent: September 22, 1992Inventor: Martin G. Patent number: 4483649Abstract: A blind hole anchor nut fastener comprises a tubular sleeve and a screw-threaded nut at the end of the sleeve, so that when a screw-threaded mandrel is screw-engaged with the nut, and is displaced axially in the appropriate direction, the nut can shear from the sleeve and be drawn into the sleeve in wedging engagement. The basic nut shape is modified by making it non-circular such as trochoidal (for example) at one end and in so-doing making parts of the surface back-tapered so that in the displacement into the sleeve the non-circular shape helps in anti-rotational hold relative to the sleeve and the reduced volume resulting from the back-taper minimizes actual extension of the sleeve under the wedging action so as to reduce the possibility of the sleeve splitting.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 1982Date of Patent: November 20, 1984Inventor: Martin G. Patent number: 4421137Abstract: A plug assembly comprising a generally cylindrical expansion sleeve having a socket portion which receives a wedging nut. One of the nut and socket portion is tapered such that the sleeve may be radially expanded as the nut enters more deeply into the socket portion. A screw element is threadedly received by the nut and by a clearance opening through the sleeve. The screw element is provided with a head which engages the sleeve on the side axially opposite the socket portion whereby threading of the screw element into the nut draws the latter more deeply into the socket portion. The outer periphery of the sleeve is preshaped to be out-of-round to provide for an interference fit with a cylindrical bore which is to be plugged.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1981Date of Patent: December 20, 1983Assignee: PHD, Inc.Inventors: Kay T. Patent number: 4274324Abstract: A plastic screw anchor for fastening fixtures and other objects to a hollow wall, the anchor including a four-legged diamond-shaped shank whose front legs are joined together by a front apex living hinge and whose rear legs are joined to the front legs by side apex living hinges, the ends of the rear legs defining a rear apex. Secured by a pair of normally outstretched resilient webs to the rear legs of the shank is a flanged socket whose bore lies in registration with an opening formed in the front apex hinge. The diamond-shaped shank is collapsible to form a tongue that is insertable in a hole drilled in the wall to accommodate the socket, the webs then reverting to their outstretched condition to cause the shank which is now behind the wall to recover its diamond formation. When a self-tapping screw is turned into the socket bore, it acts to thread the bore.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 1979Date of Patent: June 23, 1981Inventor: Louis N. Giannuzzi

Patent number: 4270434Abstract: A dowel construction for anchoring an element in a borehole, comprises, a tubular dowel of a plastic material which is insertable into the borehole and advantageously has means thereon for preventing turning movement thereof relative to the borehole. The tubular dowel has a window opening for accommodating a straddling member which is disposed in the opening between a securing bolt insertable in the dowel and the borehole. The straddling member and the bolt are constructed so that there is a wedge-engagement surface between them which causes radial outward movement of the straddling member into engagement with the borehole when the bolt is moved in a withdrawal direction. Preferably, at least two metal straddle bodies are uniformly arranged over the circumference of the bolt and they preferably have cylindrical outer surfaces which are disposed in the window cutouts of the tubular plastic cage forming the tubular dowel.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 1978Date of Patent: June 2, 1981Assignee: Tuflex AGInventor: Josef Bucheli

Patent number: RE31776Abstract: A mine roof bolt and expansion anchor are provided with means preventing relative rotation of the two in a direction tending to withdraw the bolt from the tapered nut of the anchor while allowing relative rotation in the opposite direction, whereby the bolt may be rotationally advanced into the nut as the anchor remains rotationally stationary to effect expansion of the anchor shell within a drill hole. A conventional, two-compartment resin cartridge is inserted into the drill hole ahead of the end of the bolt carrying the anchor. The cartridge is ruptured and the contents thereof mixed by advance of the bolt and anchor while rotating in the direction preventing relative rotation. Immediately thereafter the bolt is rotated in the opposite direction, thereby expanding the anchor and firmly securing it in the hole. The bolt may then be immediately loaded without regard to the setting time of the resin. Three embodiments are disclosed of the means providing the aforementioned relative rotational action.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1979Date of Patent: December 25, 1984Assignee: The Eastern CompanyInventors: Carl A.
