Abstract: A radial piston machine has a cylindrical housing which encloses a rotary shaft formed with an eccentric. A plurality of stationary piston rods is connected to the inner wall of the housing and radially directed toward the shaft. The free ends of piston rods are provided with ball-and-socket joints permitting universal rotary movement of the pistons. Each piston slidably engages the inner wall of an assigned cylinder which at its bottom wall slidably engages the eccentric. In a modification, the spherical surface of the stationary ball joint directly engages the inner wall of the cylinder.

Abstract: A hydraulic intensifier comprising a stationary working fluid plunger connected to a power fluid cylinder and piston arrangement disposed around the plunger. The power fluid piston is disposed around and integral with a working fluid cylinder member which is reciprocable with respect to the working fluid plunger to displace working fluid from the intensifier. A head member arranged at one end of the plunger includes a cavity for receiving the working fluid discharge valve which is coaxial with the working fluid plunger and in communication with a working fluid cylinder chamber by way of an elongated passage within the plunger. The working fluid inlet valve is disposed in a removable cover member attached to the head of the working fluid cylinder. The power fluid cylinder is removably connected to the head member by a releasable flange clamping connector assemblies. The inlet and discharge valves are accessible through valve covers which are held in assembly with the heads by similar connector assemblies.
Abstract: An air pump comprising a piston located inside a piston housing having a crown and an open end. The piston is provided with a pressure generating member in the form of a resilient membrane-like annular disc which is held centrally on one end of the piston, which is fitted in the piston housing with the annular disc and the piston plate pointed towards the crown of the piston housing whereby the rim of the membrane-like annular disc bears against the inner wall of the piston housing and the piston housing is guided on the piston in a manner enabling it to be moved axially.
Abstract: A manure transfer and storage system (2, 102) includes a manure collection hopper (13) disposed at a first location for receiving manure. A pull pump is operatively mounted in the collection hopper (13) and includes a movable piston body (30, 130) which is cooperable with a cylinder (27) for pumping manure from the collection hopper (13) into cylinder (27). Cylinder (27) is connected to a manure transfer pipe (25, 26) for transferring manure to the second remote storage location. In the first embodiment, piston body (30) telescopically slides over cylinder (27) in a straight line motion. In another embodiment, the piston body (130) is pivotably mounted in collection hopper (13) for arcuate rotation about a pivot axis (134). Piston body (130) includes an arcuate manure confining surface (136) which engages the cylinder (27) only along a single line (144).

Abstract: A hermetic refrigeration rotary motor-compressor comprising a hermetically sealed pressure tight housing can enclosing a compressor unit comprising a housing having at least two axially spaced walls and rotatable in relation to the housing piston and cylinder-piston journaled on eccentric portions of two oppositely rotatable shafts. The piston and cylinder-piston form movable walls, and axially spaced walls of the housing form stationary walls of at least two compression chambers. The compressor unit may be operated by any suitable prime mover, preferably an electric motor. An intake charge of refrigerant vapor may cool the motor unit and is admitted into the compression chamber through intake ports and discharged through a system of discharge valves into the discharge line.
Abstract: An improved work machine of the eccentric piston type which may be employed to translate force of pressurized fluid into rotary shaft motion in an external combustion type engine system, as a pump for pumping fluids in a fluid handling system, and as a fluid actuated motor. The work machine comprises a housing having an internal compartment with a peripheral lobe. An inner body is mounted for non-rotational orbital movement in the housing. The inner body housing, and a movable wall member located in a peripheral recess of the inner body form variable-volume fluid intake and discharge chambers in the housing compartment during orbital movement of the inner body. Pressurized fluid supplied to the fluid intake chamber of the housing imparts non-rotational orbital movement of the inner body in the housing and corresponding rotational motion to an output shaft on which the inner body is eccentrically mounted.
Abstract: An internal combustion engine, a fluid motor or a pump includes a cylinder block enclosing an elongated cylindrical bore. A double headed piston is slidably mounted within the bore. The piston and cylinder block are rotatable relative to each other about the longitudinal axis of the bore. Rotation is imparted by a sinusoidal cam and a cam follower. Reciprocation of the piston within the bore is accomplished along with corresponding rotational movement of the cylinder block. Opposed ends of the cylinder block include openings which are aligned with and periodically communicate with exhaust and intake chambers. Porting collars are slidably mounted to the cylinder block and are stationary relative to the cylinder.
Abstract: A high volume, low profile, quick acting, dispensing pump features valve members provided with flow restricting passages which accelerate the opening and closing action of the valve members and thus make it possible for the pump to handle large volume quickly. The low profile is achieved by wrapping the pressurized compartment around the intake of the pump.
Abstract: A miniature volumetric pump for determining the thermodynamic characteristics of oil effluents comprising a hollow cylinder and a piston moving in a straight line relative to the cylinder. The pump is characterized in that the piston is stationary and secured to the pump frame and in that the cylinder can move in a straight line with respect to the frame and is adapted to receive the piston in sealing-tight manner in its bore, the pump comprising a screen device for moving the cylinder.

Abstract: A fluid suction device is disclosed. The device comprises a cylinder, a piston mounted for sliding movement into the cylinder, a shaft secured to the piston at one end and having a longitudinal bore therein communicating with the cylinder, a suction head secured to the outer end of the shaft and having a longitudinal bore in communication with the bore in the shaft spring means surrounding the shaft for biasing the suction head away from the cylinder, and means for moving the shaft into the cylinder against the action of the spring to create a vacuum at the tip of the suction head to draw fluid into the suction head.
Abstract: In order to reduce the CO-content in exhaust gases of combustion engines, the atomization is improved by coupling the displacer body of a fuel pump with the armature of an electro-magnet, which armature is arranged so as to be movable between two electro-magnets and is adapted to move each time to one of the two electro-magnets at the alternating energization of the latter.
