Abstract: A movable material injection device for a rubber injection machine includes two heat two heat isolating boards and a mediate part sandwiched between the two heat isolating boards. The movable material injection device is connected to a pushing device which sends the movable material injection device horizontally to the position between the top set and the mold assembly of the rubber injection machine. Runners are defined in the two heat isolating boards and the mediate part, and communicate with the cavities of the mold assembly and the material feeding device connected to the top set. The movable material injection device is removed from the mold assembly after rubber is injected into the cavities in the mold assembly so that the rubber in the runners of the movable material injection device is not heated with the mold assembly.

Abstract: Solid rollers of a urethane material are formed in closed mold formed by a tube and two end plugs spaced by a shaft, the latter becoming the shaft for the roller. The closed mold avoids rough grinding to a cylindrical shape, as well as avoiding the resulting waste of material and introduction of defects that arise from rough grinding. The formation of bubbles during injection of the urethane material is avoided by filling the closed mold with carbon dioxide gas prior to injection. The formation of gate marks in the urethane material is avoided by repositioning the end caps after injection to separate the injection gate from the cylindrical cavity. The need to trim the ends of the roller is avoided by providing an annular cavity between the top end cap and the tube that receives excess urethane material to be drawn into the cylindrical cavity as the urethane shrinks during curing.

  • Patent number: 5985185
Abstract: In encapsulating an optocomponent with a plastics material, an MT-connector compatible interface is obtained having bores for guide pins in the wall of the capsule and optical connection surfaces. These bores are obtained from mold cavity guide pins that are used for aligning the optocomponent in a mold cavity in a mold in the molding operation of the encapsulating material on top of the component. In order to achieve a good accuracy in the positioning of the component during the molding operation, the mold guide pins are as short as possible and end directly behind the component where they are supported by projections extending from each mold half. Thus, cavities are created extending straight through the capsule behind the component. The cavities allow that the guide pin bores are cleansed and that material residues are removed after the molding operation. Further, the cavities can be used for spring clamps for retaining the optocomponent capsule at an optical connector having a similar interface.

The manifold is positioned to minimize weld lines in the injected tire component. In addition, a narrow gate opening between the manifold and mold cavity provides an elevated temperature of the injected material for decreasing the curing time of the tire component in the mold. Blade members may support and position tire components such as bead apex assemblies in the mold. These tire components may be unloaded by an unloader ring in communication with a source of vacuum for pulling the tire component out of the mold.
