Crt Mask Mounting Patents (Class 445/30)
  • Patent number: 5702280
Abstract: A color selecting electrode mounting frame of a CRT which eliminates the waste of materials, is easy and inexpensive to process and assemble. The color selecting electrode mounting frame for a CRT comprises a pair of long members of an L-sectional shape having curved surfaces formed at their top edge portions to which two opposing sides of a color selecting electrode are attached and a pair of short members having end portions joined to the two ends of these long members. The long members are obtained by blanking a plate of a fixed width into an arc shape of a predetermined curvature, then forming this into an L-sectional shape and a curvature matching the panel glass surface of the CRT. The two end portions of the short members are processed to match the curvature of the two end portions of the long members. The end portions of the short members are processed by a twisting, crushing, or shaving process.

  • Patent number: 5692941
Abstract: When three or four panel attachment springs 3 are welded to side portions of an aperture grill 1 (or 21), the aperture grill is disposed so that a grill 107 should be opposed to a predetermined reference plane. The springs are disposed by three or four spring positioning means. A posture of the aperture grill 1 (or 21) is adjusted based on measured results of the respective measurement position Z.sub.0 to Z.sub.4 of the grill 107. Positions of spring pins for supporting springs on the spring positioning means are agreed with positions of panel pins provided on a panel. Thereafter, the respective springs are simultaneously welded to the side portions of the aperture grill. Thus, it is possible to precisely weld the springs to side-portion positions of the aperture grill. When the four springs are welded, it is possible to simultaneously weld the four springs by one equipment.

  • Patent number: 5681197
Abstract: A method for fixing to a frame an electrode or a shadow mask for an image receiving tube. The method includes steps for stretching, in opposite directions, supporting ends of a rectangular mask plate having apertures formed between the supporting ends, in order to generate a tensile force having a uniform distribution over the entire surface of the plate. The method also includes pressing inwardly and bending a pair of elastic supporting elements, constituting two confronting sides of a frame, so that a distribution of the pressing force in a direction of each of the sides almost balances with a distribution of the tensile force. The supporting ends of the mask plate are then rigidly fixed to both of the bent supporting elements of the frame. The stretching and pressing forces applied to the mask plate and the frame are then released.

  • Patent number: 5162008
Abstract: An apparatus and method for differentially stretching a flat tension mask to register apertures in the mask with an undedicated screen on a CRT faceplate. Stretching is accomplished biaxially on the mask with a plurality of separate clamping elements along all four sides of the mask. Various methods and means are disclosed for applying a fixed ratio of forces to the clamps to maintain strain in the mask substantially uniform across the entire mask, such as a "wiffle tree" linkage and selected spring rate springs. Growth of the mask during stretching is accommodated by allowing the clamps to move laterally or perpendicular to the stretching forces. Fragile slit aperture masks are stretched with clamps having tangential component stretching forces. Individual and/or groups of clamps can be controlled independently of others to correct for localized mask or screen defects. The clamps move in unison toward the mask to a clamp engagement position where they are precisely aligned in a starting position.
