Abstract: A remanufacturing method of a drill includes providing a drill with a worn-out area. The drill comprises: a shank part; and a flute part arranged on one end of the shank part. A chisel edge is formed on the front end of the flute part, and the radius of any one of the cross section of the chisel edge is defined as a core thickness; a first blade and a second blade with tilt directions toward the shank part are formed on the two sides of the chisel edge. The first circumferential surface of the first blade and the second circumferential surface of the second blade are respectively extended and spiraled toward the shank part along a periphery of the flute part and form two helical cutting edges, a first debris-discharging groove and a second debris-discharging groove. The first blade comprises a first cutting edge. The first cutting edge and the first circumferential surface define the worn-out area.

Abstract: A swing grinding fixture and process for using the same is disclosed that enables a conventional surface grinder to remanufacture a machine tool cutting insert by grinding a predetermined shape into the insert. A quick clamping insert holder coupled to a slide secures the tool insert in the fixture. A precision spindle cartridge is mounted in a rigid fixture body and coupled to the slide to provide the swing motion required to generate the radius to be ground. The rigid fixture body includes a pair of micrometer adjustable stops which limit the arc through which the slide may be swung and control the flank shape ground into the insert. In an alternative embodiment, a sine plate is attached to the fixture body and is used to incline the fixture to a predetermined insert rake angle. In operation, the grinding fixture is securely mounted to the table of a surface grinder and a cutting tool insert is secured in the insert holder.
Abstract: An abrasive apparatus adopted to abrade a curved surface of workpiece includes: an abrading head including an abrading tip having a substantially spherical outer surface and a rotating shaft supporting the abrading tip, the abrading head being positioned to face the curved surface; a thrust moving mechanism for relatively moving the abrading head and the curved surface; a lateral moving mechanism for relatively moving the abrading head and the curved surface; a pivotal moving mechanism for relatively moving the abrading head and the curved surface pivotally around a center point; and a controller for controlling the abrading head, the thrust moving mechanism, the lateral moving mechanism and the pivotal moving mechanism synchronously so that the abrading tip contacts and presses the curved surface at any point thereon with a substantially constant pressure in a direction consistent with a normal line thereat.
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for grinding the screen panel of a CRT. A jig pallet for holding the screen panel of a CRT is fixedly supported by a jig pallet support plate by means of a pivoting mechanism. The screen panel is fixedly mounted in the jig pallet by means of a plurality of fixing cylinders. A wheel-type grind felt device for grinding the surface of the screen panel is provided over the jig pallet. The rotational axis of the wheel-type grind felt device is parallel with the pivoting axis of the jig pallet. The wheel-type grind felt device contacts and grinds the portions of the surface of the screen panel in stepwise manner while the screen panel is pivoting about a pivot pin. A cooling fluid supply tube is provided for supplying a cooling liquid between the surface of the screen panel and the peripheral surface of the wheel-type grind felt device.
