Thread Abrader Patents (Class 451/222)
  • Patent number: 10725456
Abstract: A numerical controller includes a motion start point determination unit that calculates a cycle motion start point where the screw thread cutting cycle is to be started, an acceleration/deceleration control unit that moves the tool from the cycle motion start point to a screw thread cutting start point with motions of a plurality of axes overlapped, and a control unit that controls motions of a machining device based on control instructions received from an instruction analysis unit and the acceleration/deceleration control unit. The cycle motion start point is a point from which acceleration or deceleration of a first axis and a second axis orthogonal to the first axis is started so as to make a speed of the first axis reach a specified cutting feed speed and to make a speed of the second axis substantially become zero at time of arrival at the screw thread cutting start point.

  • Patent number: 10307892
Abstract: A pipe clamp rotation kit preferably includes an adjustment end bracket, a pipe end bracket, an adjustment end collar, a pipe end collar and a tightening member. The adjustment end bracket includes a L-shaped bracket and a support pin. The support pin is sized to be received by an inner diameter of a support pipe of a pipe clamp. The pipe end bracket includes a pipe mounting plate and a pipe support plate. A pipe hole is formed through the pipe support plate to receive the support pipe of the pipe clamp. The adjustment end collar includes a collar base and a pair of ears. The support pipe is inserted through a bore in the collar base. A space between the pair of ears is sized to receive a lead screw of the pipe clamp. A threaded stud of the tightening member is threaded into the adjustment end collar.

  • Patent number: 6648341
Abstract: A chuck for use with a manual or powered driver having a rotatable drive shaft includes a generally cylindrical body having a nose section and a tail section. The tail section is configured to rotate with the drive shaft and the nose section has an axial bore formed therein. A plurality of jaws are movably disposed with respect to the body toward and away from the axial bore. Each jaw includes a back surface and a tool engaging surface opposite the back surface. The tool engaging surfaces are disposed facing generally parallel to the axis of the axial bore and a plurality of grinds are defined across each tool engaging surfaces to form a helical pattern on the tool engaging jaw surfaces when the tool engaging surfaces are disposed at a predetermined position with respect to the axis of the axial bore.

  • Patent number: 6126521
Abstract: An improved process for producing an endodontic instrument with a predetermined taper having a plurality of flutes, each with a predetermined number of spirals over a predetermined length of the instrument are provided. The process basically comprises providing a grinding wheel rotated about a first axis having a plurality of flute grinding ribs and a rolled deformed metal grinding rib extending from a periphery thereof. A rotating wire stock is fed past the plurality of flute grinding ribs and the rolled deformed metal grinding rib at a controlled rate along a second axis so that a separate flute is ground on the wire stock by each of the flute grinding ribs and rolled deformed metal is removed from the ground wire stock by the rolled deformed metal grinding rib.

  • Patent number: 6120364
Abstract: A grinding fixture that allows a variety of helical shapes to be ground upon a variety of cutting inserts. The grinding fixture includes a bottom sine base for varying a first angle. A shaft is rotatably attached to the bottom sine base for providing rotation of the insert about an axis. A primary slide is rotatably attached to the shalt in parallel relation to the top surface of the bottom sine base for adjusting the position of a locating point on the insert in a first direction relative to the axis of rotation. The locating point is adjusted in a second direction relative to the axis of rotation by a cross slide attached to, and disposed in perpendicular relation with, the primary slide. A top sine assembly is fixedly attached to the cross slide for varying a second angle and includes a connection surface for fixedly connecting the insert holder to the sine assembly.
