Abstract: A system for providing mobile interactive satellite services includes a satellite operable to communicate with mobile units, a terrestrial base transceiver station operable to communicate with mobile units, and a ground station in communication with the satellite and the terrestrial base transceiver station to provide mobile interactive satellite services. The mobile interactive satellite services include a multicast component and an interactive component such that the ground station provides both the multicast component and the interactive component using the satellite, with the terrestrial base transceiver station used to provide an ancillary terrestrial component. A device for communicating with a mobile interactive satellite service system includes an antenna, a transceiver coupled to the antenna and operable to communicate with a mobile interactive satellite service system, a user input device, an output device, a processor unit, and a network interface.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and apparatuses for recommending applications and presenting recommended applications, wherein the method of recommending applications in a network device comprises: obtaining a user's current scenario information from a user equipment; determining to-be-recommended applications according to the user's current scenario information and historical application usage information of one or more users; and sending relevant information of the to-be-recommended applications to the user equipment. According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, applications to currently opened will be recommended to the user more accurately, and the user's operation path will be shortened, thereby bring a better user experience.

In some embodiments, a server might generate linear (e.g., short message service (“SMS”)) message(s) containing data updates, and might send the linear message(s) to a user device over a linear messaging communications network. The user device might receive the linear message containing data updates, and might divert, based on the format of the linear message, the linear message, from a queue of regular (i.e., message only) linear messages that are displayed to a user, to a translator device or application programming interface (“API”). The translator or API might parse the data updates in the linear message (in some cases, combining data updates in multiple linear messages, decrypting data updates, and/or the like) to generate data updates in data format, which are then relayed to one or more identified applications running on the user device for updating these applications.

Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and systems for sourcing hours of operation for a business or other location entity can include receiving a request to update hours of operation. A number of mobile devices present at the location entity during one or more periods of time can be determined based at least in part on a collection of time-stamped mobile device location data that identifies mobile devices associated with discrete users present at the location entity. The number of mobile devices and initial operating hours for the location entity can be provided as input to a statistical model (e.g., neural network, support-vector machine (SVM) or logistic regression model). An output of the model can indicate a likelihood that operating hours for the location entity have changed relative to the initial operating hours. The operating hours for the location entity can then be updated based at least in part on the model output.

Abstract: Some examples include determining a plurality of motion pattern readings detected by an electronic device in conjunction with entry of a passcode on the electronic device, such as for authentication of a transaction. The passcode may be entered as a sequence of tactile presses on the electronic device, and the detected motion pattern readings may be indicative of movements of the electronic device when the tactile presses occur. Based at least in part on the motion pattern readings, a plurality of locations corresponding to the tactile presses may be determined. Further, based at least in part on the determined plurality of locations, symbols for the passcode may be determined. In some cases, a process for authenticating the transaction may be initiated using the determined passcode.

Using such an interface, the user can select one or more contact persons that are desired to transmit reminders. Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for reducing overhead associated with packet switched voice service registration. According to some embodiments, a cellular network entity associated with a cellular network may receive a request relating to packet switched voice service from a wireless device. It may be determined whether subscription information for the wireless device indicates that packet switched voice service from the cellular network is permitted to the wireless device. A response to the request indicating whether packet switched voice service from the cellular network is available to the wireless device may be provided to the wireless device. The response may be generated based at least in part on the subscription information.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software are disclosed herein for handling incoming communications. In an implementation, a notification of an incoming communication is received. Duplicate indications of the incoming communication are avoided by determining whether an indication associated with an application will be surfaced. If not, then an indication of the incoming communication may be surfaced in association with another application. However, if the indication associated with the application will be surfaced, then the other notification associated with the other application may be suppressed.

Abstract: A system and corresponding methods for recommending a discussion group as an appropriate place to post a message are provided. In one embodiment, the system searches a plurality of existing posts to identify the posts that are similar to a subject of a user's message. The system identifies the discussion groups that contain the identified posts and selects one of the identified discussion groups to recommend as an appropriate discussion group to post the user's message.

Abstract: The invention provides a method of generating a bank transaction request and a mobile payment terminal hosting a payment application using a secure token for the transaction request and including a secure module. The method comprises the payment application executing a payment protocol with a trader application in order to generate the transaction request, and the payment application requesting an authorization cryptogram from an encryption application hosted in the secure module for verifying authorization of the transaction request in compliance with the payment protocol. The invention also provides the mobile terminal hosting the payment application and including a secure module hosting the encryption application.

Abstract: Enabling a web application to call at least one native function of a mobile device includes accessing the web application by a browser of the mobile device. The web application includes at least one GUI element. The mobile device operates a listener module that is a TCP/IP socket listener listening for an address including a localhost IP address and a port number. Upon selection of the GUI element, a cross domain HTTP request is submitted by the browser to the listener localhost IP address. The listener module receives the request and calls the at least one native function in dependence on the received request.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for performing automated operations in order to predict obstacles to mobile device travel paths. Historical mobile device path data about multiple historical paths previously taken by a plurality of mobile devices during a first period of time is tracked. Recent mobile device path data about a plurality of recent paths taken by multiple mobile devices during a second period of time is received and analyzed, including comparing the historical mobile device path data with the recent mobile device path data. Based at least in part on such analysis, a location is predicted for a new obstacle that is determined to be substantially adjacent to one or more of the recent paths. An indication of the predicted location of the new obstacle is provided to one or more user devices.

Abstract: The current application describes adding a friend in a social network. A friend adding request corresponding to a first user identification is obtained. Further, a second user identification is obtained according to the friend adding request. The invention then obtains a group that includes the first user identification and the second user identification. A verification request is generated according to information corresponding to the first user identification and sent to a terminal corresponding to the second user identification. After a friend adding confirmation request corresponding to the second user identification is obtained, the second user identification is added to a friend list corresponding to the first user identification. The current application also describes a device and a storage medium for adding a friend in a social network. The invention of the current application improves the operation convenience of adding a friend.

Abstract: A geo-social networking system utilizes location-based information to connect mobile users in real-time over a network to other users located at the same place. A mobile device determines the geographic location of the user and uses the location to generate a list of places within the vicinity of the specific geographical location of the user, allowing the user to check-in at a place, causing the mobile device to display a list of users who are also within/checked into the same specific place and display messages amongst the users. Once the location-aware mobile device detects the user has left the place, or the user checks out of that place, the communication ends between the user and other users checked-in at that place.

Abstract: A computer application for preventing a mobile device user from operating a mobile device while operating a motor vehicle. The computer application determines pertinent mobile devices within the motor vehicle. The application provides a user interface to each of the pertinent mobile devices for selecting a motor vehicle operator device. The application causes all pertinent mobile devices to move into a locked configuration if a motor vehicle operator device is not identified and causes non-operator devices to move into the unlocked configuration if a motor vehicle operator device is identified. The computer application causes the motor vehicle operator device to remain in the locked configuration if the motor vehicle is moving and causes the motor vehicle operator device to move into an unlocked configuration if the motor vehicle is not moving, or if the motor vehicle operator device is no longer one of the pertinent mobile devices.

A relationship property defines a relationship context between the receiving device and the sponsoring device. Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for originating a call to a wireless number by a contact center while enforcing various compliance requirements. In one embodiment, a compliance server and a PBX cooperate to originate the call to the wireless number. The agent logs into the compliance server and the compliance server provides the agent with a wireless number to dial. The agent manually enters the wireless number using a phone connected to the PBX. The PBX queries the compliance server regarding establishing the wireless call. Upon authorization, the PBX establishes a first call leg to the compliance server, and a second call leg to the called party that is joined with the call leg to the agent's phone. Upon completion of the call, the agent dispositions the call to the compliance server, which then releases the first call leg. In response, the PBX then releases the second call leg.

Abstract: One or more methods and/or techniques for providing a personalized future event notification to a user are provided herein. A content item (e.g., a news article, a social network post, etc.) may be evaluated utilizing a future event detection model to identify a future event (e.g., a festival). The future event detection model may have been trained to identify future events based upon part of speech analysis and entity recognition analysis of text within content items. In an example, the future event detection model may be used to identify locational features, temporal features, and/or entities from the content item. A user having a user interest in the future event above an interest threshold may be identified based upon user identifying information (e.g., a social network profile) being indicative of user interest in the future event. A personalized future event notification of the future event may be provided to the user.

Abstract: A method of device to device communication is provided. The method may include obtaining a request for a communication session at a communication system from a first device. The method may further include obtaining profile data of a user associated with the first device and in response to obtaining the request, selecting a second device of multiple second devices to participate in the communication session using the profile data. In some embodiments, the method may also include establishing the communication session between the first device and the second device using the communication system and generating transcript data of the second device audio. The method may also include sending the transcript data and the second device audio to the first device for presentation of the transcription of the second device audio by the first device.

Abstract: A system may detect multiple accesses of an engagement interface from a user. The multiple accesses may include a first group of accesses performed by a first device and a second group of accesses performed by a second device. Both the first device and the second device may correspond to the user. A message may be selected from a set of messages. Moreover, the message may correspond to the engagement interface. The system may identify the first group of accesses as having a greater amount of user interaction with the engagement interface than the second group of accesses. The system may then determine that the selected message has the greatest likelihood of being read on the first device. The selected message may be communicated to the first device based on the determination.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for enabling wireless communication devices in a cellular wireless network to utilize small cells having coverage within a macro cell are disclosed herein. User equipment (UE) can detect the need for using a booster providing a small cell, detect availability of small cells and submit a request to infrastructure of the cellular wireless network to aid in connection with the booster that provides the small cell. The request can be enhanced with small cell location queries, small cell activation requests and/or assistance data to enable meaningful small cell selection.

Abstract: Location may be determined based on electrical outlets in a home or business. One or more of the electrical outlets may wirelessly communicate with a mobile device, thus updating a database with the location of the mobile device. As the mobile device moves within the home or business, a current location of the mobile device may be continually logged by passing one of the electrical outlets. Rules and operations may then be performed, based on the current location.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are related to enforcing a policy on a computing device, or a companion device, based upon its proximity to another computing device, or an anchor device. In one example, the anchor device and companion device can report their location with respect to one another to a policy server. The policy server can determine whether the anchor device and proximity device are in proximity to one another as well as determine whether a policy should be applied to the companion device based upon whether it is in proximity to the anchor device.

Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling group communications using a mobile device includes detecting a motion of the mobile device corresponding to a user placing the device on a surface, maintain a communication session with another mobile device while the user is detected in proximity to the first mobile device, and entering a non-active communication mode when the user is not detected in proximity to the device. The communication session may be maintained for a time-out period before entering the non-active mode. Further methods and systems include transitioning to a non-active communication mode in response to detecting a motion of the mobile device corresponding to a user placing the device on a surface.

Abstract: In various embodiments, a system, method, and computer readable medium (collectively, the “System”) for authenticating a mobile device configured to initiate payments is provided. The System may be configured to perform operations and/or steps comprising receiving, by the processor and in a secure environment, a secret element. The secret element may be transmitted to the processor (e.g., the issuer system) via a payment terminal. The System may further comprise comparing, by the processor and in the secured environment, the secret element to an issuer element. The issuer element may be linked with a flag that is associated with the transaction account. Moreover, the issuer element may be a data module that corresponds to be is not equal to the secret element. The System may also comprise authorizing, by the processor, a transaction initiated by the mobile device in response to the comparing being a satisfactory comparison.

Abstract: A vehicle safety function is installed and operative in the vehicle electronics. The vehicle function is implemented via a texting-safety logic inside the vehicle electronics. The texting-safety logic when the vehicle exceeds a threshold speed outputs an RF signal with a texting-safety code. The texting-safety code is picked up by a smart phone in the vehicle to alert the driver about the danger of texting and/or disable the texting feature in the phone while the vehicle is being driven.

Abstract: A multiple subscriber identity module cards (multi-SIM) resource management method, device and multi-SIM terminal. Abstract: The operation of a conventional cellular telecommunications transceiver that forms part of a vehicle's telematics system can be selectively changed in order to provide telephone calls by providing the transceiver with a second and different SIM card. Providing a second SIM card, however, will disable telematics service that can include stolen vehicle tracking. A personal identification number or PIN is thus required in order for the information that is stored in an external, user-provided SIM card to be used by a telematics system transceiver rather than the information stored in a built-in SIM card that is provided by a telematics system operator/provider.

An exemplary embodiment detects movement of a user who is listening to the audio content; increases the output audio volume level when the detected user movement is away from a predefined location in the media presentation environment; and decreases the output audio volume level when the detected user movement is closer to the predefined location in the media presentation environment.

In some situations, the techniques include: receiving information about a user input provided to a touch screen of a user device, the touch screen displaying two or more selectable objects, wherein each of the selectable objects, if selected, initiates a response corresponding to the selection of the object, determining a selectable object among the selectable objects that has a highest likelihood of being an object that a user intended to select with the user input, and providing a response corresponding to a selection of the determined selectable object. In one situation, a selectable object is a button or a hyperlink included in a Web page displayed on the screen of the device, and the response includes content associated with the selected button or hyperlink.
